Birth Control Pills?
Hey Gals!
First off, I'm 30 and I don't have insurance so somethings like tubal ligation/essure are not an option for me at this time. Although I'm 100% sure I do not want kids, I just can't afford those procedures. I've done it all... the depro shot which made me gain 80+ pounds, foams, films, the pill (including the new yaz), and finally a copper IUD (which I loved but it failed after 18 months). So after they yanked the IUD the doc put me on the Nuva Ring. I've had it for 6 days now and I already know I'm not gonna like it. My question to you is: What kind of BC pill are you on and how do you like it? I know everyone's body works differently but I'm just trying to gather some opinions. I'm leaning towards seasonique cuz I dig the 4 periods a year. And they also have a patient assistance program. Any/all opinions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!![]()

I have issues with BCP, they make me bleed the whole time I'm on them. Last month I got put on Low Dose ovral. I bled the whole time I took it but when I stopped taking it I finally stopped bleeding (had been bleeding for 4 months and needed something to regulate my cycles.). I'm not taking it now but it's what I would chose again if I needed some regulation.

I take Cyclessa, a tri-cyclic very low hormone pill. I take it continuously, no week of placebo pills, so I never have a period. (I am using it to control my endometriosis, not to prevent pregnancy.) But, I mention this because I don't seem to have any symptoms from it, and I seem to be able to lose weight while taking it, which can be a tough issue with some other BCPs.

Here are my thoughts...
1. I found that diff things worked for me. Getting recommendations from friends didn't do alot of good as some that worked for them did not work for me. I had to keep switching around til I found something escpecially after 30. 2. I swear when I hit 30 my body flipped a switch. I had been on bc pills since I was 15 with no problems. When I hit 30 I started having a lot of breakthru bleeding. I tried diff pills and had varied but not great results. I finally decided that I had to go completely off bc for a few months to 'clean out my system' and start fresh. I was off for about a year... and then go pg when we got a little careless with condoms... |
