Luna - my RE doctor seems to think that losing weight will just magically 'fix' everything and I'm sure to some extent he's right.. but what is the breaking point for my body to reset itself? I've already lost so much more than 5-10% that is the amount they say could help. They really shouldn't put #'s out there like that without the disclaimer "assuming you are only 5-10% overweight!" lol I just wish I knew the magic number I need to see on the scale for things to work properly, then I'd abandon the whole RE thing because other than not ovulating I don't really think I need their help, not like a lot of other women, and emanwhile I kinda feel like I'm just clogging up the system.. kinda like when I make fun of people for going to the emergency room for a sneeze. I think you asked if I needed to do the testing again - I think it was mentioned that I might have to do an xray if the doctor at the followup recommends it. I won't know anything really until July 27th.

I was told that the more "fat" I had the more estrogen I was producing and it was f#@&*ng up my cycles badly.

Ok here is a light note... my last RE doc in CA, his name was Dr. Poon (he was Asian). I am SERIOUS!!! I wonder how many times he was teased about that in med school?

And for the record I suspect they tell docs to day 10% for EVERYTHING... a blanket "Cover Your @ss" type phrase.

HIGHLY annoying!!!!

Charlotte - I found that losing 10% did make me ovulate more regularly. It was a magic number for me but it's definitely not for everyone. Hopefully when you see the RE next he will be impressed with your WL and dedication to getting healthy for your baby. You're doing great!

Hi Luna.

Hey to all the other ladies here!

Charlotte, I didn't temp or track my ovulation before I started losing weight, and my periods were fairly regular, but my doctor is fairly certain that I probably wasn't ovulating well back then. I definitely think that losing weight was helpful for ovulation for me.

I just finished my very last grad school assignment. I am kind of shocked that I don't have anything left to do but graduate in August. What is going to take up all of my spare time now? Maybe checking that stressful thing off my list will help with TTC.

I was watching several episodes of A Baby Story today... I know, I know, why do I torture myself? Anyhow, there was this older woman who was at the hospital when her daughter was giving birth and I thought it was so cute when she said "We have our fingers twisted that it will all be okay!"

Andrea - you have been so busy with so many things that having school off your plate can only help. Congratulations on being done! What a huge accomplishment!

Luna~When I was struggling to conceive I was very careful about ingesting xeno-estrogens as well (google it, lots of info, esp. on mercola). Basically it was making sure to not ingest things from plastic containers, not to use bleach, etc. Those things mimic estrogen in our bodies as well.

Wow it's late and I have no idea why I am on the computer at this hour. Anyway just thought I'd pop in to say hi to everyone. TOM is stillllllllll not gone.. but I think that perhaps I jumped the gun thinking it had actually started 2 weeks ago and that I was only HEAVILY spotting rather than lightly TOMing.. grrrr so I did the whole soy thing for nothing? too early definitely if I'm right so I don't know if it screwed things up or ends up being totally ineffective. oh well.. what can you do.. totoally screwed up my testing and hubby in unable to do SA at the lab until mid-August so no results for doctor at the follow up at the end of the month. Not that I think any of this is his fault.. it's mine for being a fatty!! oh well.. weight starting to move again after the longest ever stall ey.. 20 days!!! bah! and no whoosh despite me staying on plan the whole time like a good little girl.. how is that even fair? oh well. BMI is 39.4 so far.. getting closer to what doctor wants but I deifnitely won't be losing 31 lbs before the next appointment. lol

I need to look into this xeno-estrogen thing..

Andrea - congratulations on being done with school! yay!!! As for watching a Baby Story.. when I was preggers I would watch the one and a few others obsessively and then cry when they were giving birth, but not because "oh it's so beautiful and wonderful" but because I was SCARED!!!!! And to this day am still scared of giving birth vaginally, in a weird way I kinda was glad to have a c-section and truly have no idea if I want to do a repeat c-section or vbac next time.

Charlotte - are you still charting? If so, that should help you see when you are getting a real AF. Good luck with your next RE appt.

Happy 4th of July ladies!

Well Charlotte my BMI is at 41.0 so you are doing better than me!

Think of it this way.... you are increasing your health even when the weight is not moving!

I used to be able to tell how "bad" my baby fever was by how "often" I would watch Baby Story.

Alas it does not call to me anymore. Now show me a Kids By the Dozen episode and I am all over that. Even though I am not looking for 10 kids.

Hey Everyone!
How are you all?
This thread sure is quiet now.

I'm back to LC since DH will be home in 5 weeks and I loose the best on LC. I'm also working out at the gym 4-5 times a week. I am currently on Day 4 of induction (VLC).

Hey Sunflower! Glad to have you on board.. seems it is a little quiet around here since the summer started but we're always around and I'm sure things will pick up when the weather isn't so nice and warm outside.

I'm TTC #2 myself and trying to drop as much weight as possible in the meantime. Congrats on your recent marriage!
