Hey Ladies!

Welcome Sunflower!

I'm currently dropping as much weight as possible while my husband is deployed so we can TTC #2 when he returns. I've been on plan for the last few days and my appetite is begining to disappear. I've reached a new low. We went to the beach today to visit some family friends and went out on their boat. It was so much fun.

Here's some pics from our day:

He loved it!:

This weekend was hilarious. We had dinner with my mama/stepfather Saturday night-- as soon as they came in my stepfather said "just tell us", I said "huh?" He said "i know you had us up to tell us you were pregnant". I hated to burst his bubble when I was just having them come up to see the new kittens haircut and our new front door

Then Sunday, we met my daddy and his wife for breakfast. We were getting ready to leave and Dad said " so, that's it?" again.... he said "I thought for sure you were going to tell us you were pregnant!"

So, they are all on edge. I am an only child and extremely close to them, but I thought it was hilarious that for ages, nobody ever assumed that. Now... 2 1/2 months after "I DO", it's all they can think about

Sunflower - I remember when I was still dating my husband his mother would pester us about getting married.. finally DH had had enough and told her to quit it.. so she did for about 5 minutes, then turned to me and asked when were we going to have babies! lol and informed me she was 'ready' with a big grin on her face. (ironic side story: MIL has not seen her granddaughter in 2 + years because she's gone crazy and hates us).

Update from me: Saw RE today for follow up.. everything that the doc could see and test and has results for looks good BUT my estrogen level is too high and is hindering ovulation.. and he could not confirm my tubes are NOT blocked.. sooooooo he wants me to keep on working on getting the weight off.. despite me losing 22 freakin' pounds since we last met less than 2 months ago.. so either the end of September or as soon as I hit 240lbs I am going in to retest to see if the US works better on the tubes with less weight on me and then he will most likely give me a prescription for clomid. Frig! Oh well, so I'm more determined than ever to lose weight as fast as possible so I can get this done early! I have 18lbs to go...

So I'm hoping that this thread being so quiet is only because we are all too busy having a great summer!

Charlotte - the pregnancy is going well so far. It's definitely had its ups and downs but things seem to be progressing well and I'm praying daily that it keeps going this way. I'm 22 weeks and my next appt. is next week. I get another u/s at the beginning of Sept. with the specialist to check position and growth. I'm not sure if you check the expecting thread, but we found out 3 weeks ago that it's a boy. DH couldn't be happier. Thanks for asking.

Amber - I'm so happy that everything is going smoothly *knock on wood*. Congrats on finding out it's a baby boy!! Are you making headway on picking a name? DH and I had a boys name picked out until we found out it was a girl.. then finally picked a girls one and then changed it last minute to what we ended up with.

Long weekend here in Canada - same in the USA?? I was going to see if DH wanted to go to the beach for the day tomorrow but honestly the rest of the weekend looks like poo! I'll probably just spend the weekend doing laundry and trying to get rid of all my too fat clothing to charity. Should probably work on planning our trip to Toronto later this month too!

How about you Sunflower?

Helloooooo my old friends! I have missed everyone so much. Great to see lots of new posters as well!

I cant even begin to try and catch up on all I have missed, so I am just going to jump right back in!

Quick update/introduction...

I am 35 (almost 36 yrs old)- have 2 beautiful children (DD, 16 (soon to be 17) and DS, 12. I am getting a divorce after a very long and turbulent 2 years of drama. I know most of you are now saying..."WTH is she on a getting fit for baby thread!" Well- I am hoping someday to meet my man of my dreams and have another baby. I know that my chances are getting very slim for another child, so I want to be in the best shape I can possibly be when the time comes.

I have been off the Atkins wagon for way too long. Gained back a lot of my weight. Going to start fresh with everything. Today is a new day!!

Congrats to all the moms that have had their sweet babies born and congrats to all the gals out there expecting!

I would like to start posting my daily menu if that is okay with everyone...keep me honest....

So- I hope you dont mind me jumping back into things!!

Not a long weekend here, but tomorrow is pedicure day and shopping with a girlfriend. Dave (hubby) is working.

Sunday, we have a Graduation cookout to attend.

I need to check the weather, too.

OK, Since I'm new to this thread, i'll do an introduction as well.

My name is Bree (full first name)

I'm 32 and live just south of Cleveland. Married my husband (Dave) on May 2nd after 2 years of dating. (We met online )

Three cats and a Dog (Louie.) Our latest kitten is named Grace, a Himmie and she was a gift after my kitty Mercedes passed away of cancer in January Mercedes was my college cat and lived a nice 14 years and rocked my world in January with her health. I'm seriously 'not over it' and probably never will be. She's the only one that was there with me for those years I was living off campus, getting my first job, etc. etc. /debbie downer

I have gained about 35 lbs and want to lose it prior to getting starting a family. I am 4'10 and think it's pretty beneficial to take care of that first. Our official "start date" will be January/February 2010.

I am a 28 day'r tried and true. I have suffered with mittelschmerz since my 2nd year in college and it worries me that I will have to have my husband TOUCH ME ( ) when I'm in that.much.pain when I ovulate.

so, that's me

Bree~I totally understand about you losing Mercedes. I had to put my childhood dog to sleep about 5 years ago and I still tear up when I think of him (he was 17). I still have his pic on my fridge and will have an occasional dream about him too. I actually started crying over him just the other day when my dh and I were talking about what a good boy he was and how much he would have loved my son, and vice versa.

The day I knew would probably be her last day, I brought her into my office with me that day. She was such a trooper. She had been in the ER Vet all weekend and had a bandage on her paw. I wrote on it "mama loves mercedes"

When we got to the vet and saw the WBC's, it was a matter of her dying at home in pain or doing it. Ofcourse , I knew what I had to do. But , I chose to have her cremated.

They did an amazing job. A beautiful engraved box. The kicker was, getting the rainbow bridge poem and a piece of paper behind it with her paw print in ink. I lost my mind in the kitchen when we opened it all after we got her back.

I am crying now. I miss her so much and just know she had so much more life she could have lived and it made me so mad to lose her. Coming home with that empty carrier was probably the worst moment of my life. BUT, I really think doing so many things in her memory has helped, and having her photo ,etc around the house. Cause it was HER house ofcourse

OK, I promise- last sad post from me for awhile

Big hugs Bree and nice to meet you

My menu for today:
B- 2 eggs, 3 slices ham, cheddar cheese
S- coffee w/cream
L- SB bar (bad I know but low on food!) 3 carbs
S- coffee w/cream
D- shaved beef (like steak ums), pepperjack cheese, green beans

Lots and lots of water...feeling pretty good. My toughest challenge is the fact I cook for a living. Lots of tasting here and there will do my best though!

Belle - nice to meet you! By the positive response you received I will take that to mean you are one of the 'good ones'. Short recap on me: TTC#2 for over a year now, blah blah long story short, too fat, losing weight, seeing an RE but no intervention of of yet. I have a little girl who just turned 3, Katherine. There is a girl I talk to on another thread and she works in a bakery, I literally cannot imagine! I have such a horrible time just making dinners and such and nothing tasting things. It's aweful trying to make food to bring to other people's houses when you don't even know what it tastes like.

Bree - Nice to meet you.

Belle - Your menu looks good.

AFM, I went shopping today and will restart induction in the morning. DH will be home for R&R in less than 30 days. I'll also be hitting the gym a lot before my membership is over. I have an appointment all set to get a mani/pedi before DH arrives so that will be a nice treat. Lots of tanning in shopping in between. I'll go ahead and post my daily menus too for accountability.

I'm so glad to see this thread coming back to life

Christina, I think we all just needed so enjoy our summer a little.. I'm so excited for you having DH coming home soon! Looks like your guy comes home just as mine goes away for a month of training in prep for deployment. We have it comfirmed now that DH is leaving in December, we just don't know if it'll be before or after Xmas.

I was feeling really productive so I went ahead and started next months thread: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/wo...l#post12294961

Hope to see everyone there!
