Thank you all for your prayers. I survived my first 12 hours in the hospital. So far so good. Everyone is very lovely and taking good care of us. My nurse just came in to draw blood and take my fasting sugar level (). She doesn't think I will need insulin, since my numbers look good. Christian is active as usual, so that's a good sign that he is healthy. I'll get my 2nd steroid shot around 730pm or so this evening. Depending on what my labs look like will determine my length of stay. I'm praying I can go home on Monday. We shall see....

Have a great weekend .

Meek

Meek - you are in my prayers. It sounds like your doctor has been on top of things so far so hopefully he's able to keep your little one inside you a few more weeks.

Gracie - everyone keeps telling me that the nursery gets less elaborate as you have more babies. But this is certainly a fun part of the process. DH and I decided on the pottery barn kids baby boats bedding. It's little sail boats. We only have the bedding in right now but are going to paint today. I'll def. post pictures once we get the furniture and carpet in.

Thank you ladies. The bp medicine is helping a lot. I'm no longer in the 160/102 . My labs looked good - but they are going to repeat them a little later today. They had me on the monitor, but Christian wouldn't behave, so they took me off for awhile. He is such a busy little baby.

New update:

Well, my pressure is SUPER...127/77 as of today. I'm excited because I guess now there will be a better flow of blood from my uterus to the placenta and baby Christian can continue to grow on target! My sugar is UP due to the betamethasone shots. It should be back down sometime after tomorrow. I only had to get two injections and they last one was administered around 8pm. I can't believe it only takes two to help speed up the development of the baby's lungs.

My PIH levels are wayyyy down, which is a blessing. I'm not sure if they are going to repeat a protein test while I am here. I do remember before being admitted, my peri doc said that I would have to complete 2 protein test per week along with sonograms to track his growth.

My husband's family came to visit us last night and to offer prayer. We are standing firm on God's word and trusting in His complete healing power. Please continue to pray for us as well...if we can hold on till atleast 10 more weeks I will be so thankful.

Have a wonderful day .

Ok, so my doc came to visit and said I will be here until Christian is delivered. This is more serious than Robert and I thought. We need all the prayers we can get. I'll go into more details later...

Meek ~ Prayers for you and Christian. I had a feeling you were going to be in the hospital until delivery but I didn't want to excite you. My SIL was in the hospital for the last 3-4 weeks of her pregnancy and then delivered via c-section at 36 weeks. They want to get as many weeks out of you as they possibly can. I'm sure you and Christian are in good hands and you need to make the best out of the situation. Just relax and let them take care of you. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. No definitely delivery date yet. I'm praying for 30-38 weeks, but I don't think it will happen. The peri doc came in and spoke to me about delivery and had me sign a form. It was just regular hosp stuff...nothing serious or pertaining to c-section. She said unless it is an extreme emergency, they will shoot for vaginal...I'm scared to death of having a c-section. Anyways....my kidneys aren't working all that great...and for some reason my body is rejecting the pregnancy , now that part confuses me, but anyways...I had a sono done late last night and another early this morning. The baby looks great and is still growing (gained 5 more ounces since Thursday - 2 pounds, 10 oz) but the neonatal doc that came to visit said that is still kinda small for his gest age . And, of course he had more scary stuff to share with us. He (Christian) also had a few drops in his heart rate last night too. He's been very quite...usually he is very active. My poor baby. I feel like crying . If it wasn't for my faith and family, I would be a total wreck, but I'm standing strong!!

I'll keep you all informed of whats going on here in Virginia.

Thanks for everything!!

Meek - I'm so sorry you are going through this, I'm sure it is really scary. I'll say this though, My husband was smaller than your baby is right now when he was born (his mom had Preeclampsia too) and he was fine. Yes he had to stay in the hospital longer to gain weight and all that, but he's been perfectly healthy. His aunts triplets were all born at 2-3 pounds and they are all healthy and normal 12 year olds right now. So hang in there, they've come a long way in helping premies thrive. I know that may not be of any help to your stress level right now but I thought I'd share. Praying for you and the baby.

Hi,

From reading the bolded part, are you saying that you're 17 weeks and haven't gained any weight? If so, then you should be giving us advice. That's awesome.

Meek - If things are as serious as they are, I'm glad they are keeping you and your baby in the hospital from this point forward. You'll get the best care and know that every day you get to keep him in you is going to maximized. How many weeks are you now? I think around 28 or 29, right? Hopefully he hangs on until 30+ weeks. My friend had her first daughter at 32 weeks and she was perfect. She stayed in NICU a few weeks but is an absolutely perfect 3 year old now. So thankfully you're already pretty close to the 30 week mark. I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Phibi - welcome! I have no advice about eating. I unfortunately had just started eating LC right when I got pregnant so I hadn't really built up a habit of it. I immediately stopped and have gained weight. I'm up over 15 pounds at 22 weeks. I know I should be only gaining around 15-20 this whole pregnancy but that doesn't look possible for me at this point. I hope you get good advice from the other more successful ladies. I think maintenance levels are what they tend to shoot for. That and eating more of a SB type diet. GL!!

Phibi - If you can stick with maintenance levels you will do great. We'll definitely root you on. I felt sick on and off this entire pregnancy so basically whatever I can get down is what I eat. I'm 33 weeks and have gained 28 pounds. I wanted to only gain 15 but it just didn't happen because #1 I couldn't stick to a good eating plan and #2 I basically had to stop exercising as much as I'm used to which is at least an hour a day but more like an hour and half day before I was preggo. So with all of that I feel ok with the 28 pounds so far. If I stick with a pound a week for the next four weeks (I'm having a c-section at 37 weeks) I'll still keep it right under 35 total. Could've been worse. At least we know eating low carb we can lose the weight afterward without feeling deprived, so try not to worry too much. I drove myself insane at the beginning with the gaining but you seem to be doing great. You'll be fine.

Amber, I will be 29 weeks tomorrow. My doctors doesn't seem very anxious to get him out now. But, they could change IF my labs come back funky. Right now, all is well. Keep praying ladies.

Hi Dessa!!

Meek - sending you more prayers. Happy 29 weeks today!! How's it going? Are you bored in the hospital?

AFM, I'm 22 weeks today. I am a bit crampy, which is always worrisome to me. Did anyone have cramps around this time? My next appt is next Wed. so unless things get worse then I'll just wait until then. I'm trying to up my water consumption in case it's dehydration. Oh the joys and the mystery that is pregnancy.

I've been crampy for a while now (maybe 10 weeks). They arent severe cramps, just kind of nagging. The doctor never said it was anything to worry about.

The last 2 weeks my stomach has been feeling weird though, I think it is because baby boy is getting bigger and has less room to move.

AsmallerMe - I've been crampy on and off this entire pregnancy. The doctor told me it's totally normal and even at this stage 33 weeks, she said as long as my uterus is not tight then I still shouldn't worry about it.

This whole pregnancy has been so much different than my other three and had the first three been like this I probably would've not had this many kids. For me the two things I HATE the most are my excruciating hip pain that is now keeping me up all night and my gag reflex that is over sensitive to everything, smells, coughing, even the thought of anything gross.... Matter of fact this morning after brushing my teeth I dry heaved 3 times....it is so uncomfortable (painful) and definitely does not make me look forward to brushing my teeth that is for sure. I coughed on the way out of the doctors office yesterday and almost threw up in the parking lot. My kids are used to it at this point, they see me hangin' over the kitchen trash can frequently, they still ask me every time though if I'm ok. I tell them, "I think I am." but honestly I don't know....I pray this will go away when Griffin makes his arrival in 28 days. So needless to say, those of you that feel HUGE and are ready to be done, thank your lucky stars that is all it is b/c this is pretty bad.

Meek - I hope you are doing well today. I was swellin' over the weekend, fingers and feet and I thought, "oh no!" but I went to the doctor yesterday and my BP was 110/60, so I guess I'm fine, but I still am not sure what the sudden swelling is all about. Doctor said, "they don't look too bad" meaning my feet. Apparently she doesn't know what they look like normally. Anyway I'm thinking about you and praying he'll be able to stay in the oven as long as possible.

Thanks ladies. It makes me feel a billion times better to hear that other people are having nagging cramps too. Mine just started yesterday on my right side, kind of where my cyst pain was but the cyst has gone away. So hopefully this goes away soon.

I've been breaking this pregnancy down into small goals/chunks. My next goal is to make it to 24 weeks since that is viability week. I realize that viability isn't great then but at least there is a good chance. Then I think around 26 weeks is when we have less than 100 days in our pregnancy. So those are the next two milestones I'm looking forward to.

Jbird - I sympathize with the teeth brushing. I absolutely hate brushing and try to skip it at night. DH knows that I hate it and nags me each night to make sure I do it. I know I need to but I hate it. I'm thinking of trying a new toothpaste flavor to see if it helps.

Disney - I'm glad to hear your doctor said it was fine. At my 15w appt I told the doctor that I was still having cyst cramps and the doctor said that pregnancy means things will ache from time to time. Uhmm...duh! I guess I expected reassurance or sympathy and not such a matter of fact statement that things hurt when they grow.

Oh gosh, I almost forgot. I was out at lunch and a lady at the restaurant asked me when I was due. This is the first time a stranger has commented. I am barely showing and since I am overweight I figured no stranger would ask until 7+ months. Guess this stranger was gutsy. It was kind of cool.
