It's a girl!!!!! Can't believe it... I was soooooooooooooooo convinced it was a boy since everything has been exactly the same as with my little boy who is 2.

Tinkerloo~ have you asked your dr about Reglan? It is a drug for reflux, but as a side effect puts milk production into high gear and perfectly safe for baby.

COngrats to all the new mommies! I'm so glad I"m out of the 1st tri...

I've gained 20 pounds so far... ugh! I've been good in the last 6-7 weeks back to low carb, but tonight for dinner I caved and had some raisin bran... I'm sure I"ll be up a couple pounds and it won't go away...I gained 40 with my first, I'm on track to do the same with this one...happily I can say I lost it and got back down to 135.

Potaty~ I thought you were having a boy??

Jbird~ that guy sounds very creepy... I hope your son wasn't too freaked out by him...

Congrats Kaiser, finally another girl! I have a 16 month old boy, maybe you are thinking of him??

Jackie~I would probably re-wrap the gift, a lot of people really enjoy watching you open things. Unless that guess won't be able to attend, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you don't re-wrap, just make sure to take it and let everyone know who gave it to you.

Happy 4th everyone! Typing one handed as Ada sucks on my pinky. It makes both of us sleepy when she does that - lol.

Kaiser - congrats on a girl! I am on a similar drug to reglan called domperidone - basically the same without some of the depression issues that reglan seemed to have. That and I'm taking fenugreek and goat's rue herbs.

Welcome to all the new folks and congrats! Off to another cozy bed day for our "nursing vacation" - definitely seeing an improvement in Addy's latch - I hope it will continue and will make a difference for both of us.

Think I will try to sleep as well before the next round of feed & pump begins.

The gift wasnt wrapped, it was just shipped in a box. They sent it to the house because they wont be attending the shower.

My family said I dont need to bring these gifts. We are traveling from NC-NY for the showers and are already worried about room coming home

I wouldn't worry about it at all - people who ship to your house vs the shower location most likely don't expect you to bring them to the shower or they'd have them delivered there.

Tinker, I'm so glad that you're feeling positive about latching and increasing your supply. I think you're absolutely right to surround yourself with advice/people that make you feel hopeful about this. And your 'nursing vacation' sounds so sweet!

Hey ladies. Just checking in. 2 days until the big u/s. I'm a nervous wreck and excited.

My only real update is that I'm having a very hard time sleeping. I can't sleep on my left side. I prefer my right side. I'm so uncomfortable and I toss and turn all night long. I'm going to try a bunch of pillows around me tonight but I don't know what will help. I'm a stomach sleeper that no longer can sleep on her tummy and it's a hard switch. Any advice?

Amber~I am a stomach sleeper too. I would try sleeping 3/4 prone. Get a body pillow that you can wrap your leg around and you might be able to *almost* sleep on you stomach. I prefer my right side too for side sleeping and I often wake up on my back. That is one of the worst things about pregnancy (IMO) is when you can't sleep comfortably anymore. I am excited for your u/s!

Not much going on here, dh left for Austin for another 2 weeks but this will be his last time going. While he is gone I am on my cleaning/getting ready for baby mission.

I am making a huge pot of veggie beef soup today to freeze.

Just checking in. So far I'm still not quite believing that I'm pregnant, even though I have a whole collection of pregnancy tests to tell me otherwise My only real symptom is I'm much more tired than normal. I've been napping nearly every day, which isn't like me at all.

I need to call the RE today and schedule an ultrasound for next week- keeping my fingers crossed that it will be late enough to be able to see how many heartbeats we have in there. Other than the people who knew we were going through treatments, we haven't told anyone else and aren't planning on it until we see how many we have cooking in there.

Katy - I'm going to try pillows tonight and if that doesn't work then maybe look into a body pillow. Are you sometimes still sleeping on your right side? Good luck with baby prep! I want to see pics!!

Jessica - how many weeks are you or will you be next week? I think once you are past 5 weeks they should be able to see how many sacs you have forming. I was able to see the heartbeat at 5w6d.

Hi Ladies - just checking in. I was discharged from L&D about an hour ago. I had some cramping which felt as if I was about to start my cycle. So, I went to get check out and I am 1 centimeter dilated . This has NEVER happened to me before. I was extremely dehydrated as well. I was monitored for a few hours and released. I have to repeat another protein and glucose test on Wednesday and also have my cervix checked again. What fun. I will be 26 weeks on tomorrow. Pray for me ladies. Thanks!

Meek

Meek - Did they say if you were going into labor? I know some people just dialate a bit early so hopefully that's it. Are they giving you meds to keep your little one in?

Amber~Yes, I still sleep on my right side. Either one is fine, left is better for blood flow and kidney function but the right side is good too. The back is the only way you aren't supposed to sleep because baby puts too much pressure on the vena cava (I think that's it?). In fact, I get lightheaded and dizzy when I am on my back, I think that's why I wake myself up. I flip between sides these days because my hips get so sore during the night. I feel like a rotisserie chicken, lol.

Jessica~I am still so happy for you! There are many of us who have dealt with fertility issues (me being one of them with my first) so I have some extra sticky baby dust going to you!

Meek~How scary! Were they concerned that you were already dilating? Praying for you and Christian!

Would you guys be offended if your inlaws asked your husband (his parents) his salary, what kind of debt we have, and how we were going to spend a moderate sum of money from his grandad's life insurance policy????

I was appalled but maybe I'm overreacting???? None of their business on all accounts if you ask me.

ETA: His parents are well off financially so their motivation was not to borrow money or anything, I think they are just being nosey.

My ultrasound is scheduled for July 15, and I'll be 5w5d at that point, so I'm hoping to be able to see sacs and heartbeats at that point. They said if they just saw sacs, they would bring me back for another ultrasound on July 20th to look again.

Potaty- My vote is nosey. I don't see any reason that the information is relevant to their lives, and is really none of their business.

Jess - oh awesome! You'll definitely get a peak at how many babies on the 15th and then worse case scenario, you get to go back in 5 days. That's so great!

Katy - oh, I didn't know that I could sleep on my right side. Thank you for telling me that! Now I won't feel so bad when I sleep in that position most of the night. And about the ILs, I was first going to say nosey. But then I realized that my parents and I talk very openly about finances. If they were asking me that stuff I probably wouldn't blink an eye. But if DH's parents said that then I would be annoyed and think it was none of their business. But we don't have that kind of relationship. So I guess it depends.

Meek - please check in. I'm worried about you now.

Meek~ dilated already? Did they offer an explanation for why that may have happened? Let us know how the testing goes.

Katy~ definitely nosey!

Kaiser~ Congrats on your little girl.

Amy~ I'm glad things are going better on the breastfeeding front. It's certainly a roller coaster. Good for you sticking it out.

Jessica~ I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your ultrasound. A multiple birth would be so exciting!

Jenny~ You definitely handled that idiot who yelled at your boy better than I probably would have.

Melody~ Where are you? Now is not the time to be disappearing. We're apt to think you're off having a baby or something.

I may be the only one here, but I disagree... We're all mothers here, or fixing to be, I can definitely relate to an interest in our kids well being... maybe they're are genuinely concerned/interested in the status of your finances to offer any suggestions for improvement. If they are "well off", then obviously they are doing something right, I'd be thrilled to sit down with them and pick their brain on how *I* could get myself in their position... but then again, me and my husband have done this exact thing. We are very open about finances. My in laws are successful business owners, semi retired, living comfortably because of excellent financial decisions they made long ago. My parents on the other hand, did not make the best decisions. my mother will have to work until she's 75 because of debt, my dad who makes well over 6 figures have massive debt, pays high interest rates etc. I've never understood why finances have been so secretive, it was at my house growing up too, but if I had followed their lead, because nothing was "taught" I'd be headed down the same path. My and my husband *will* be able to retire earlier than most and enjoy the good life and not because anything was handed to us. We've both worked our a$$es off and paid extra on houses, cars, etc. We have no credit card debt, and a house we built 6 years ago will be paid for 26 months. If we can't pay cash for it or pay it off at the end of the month, then we don't buy it. I'm very proud of what we've accomplished for both of us being in our 30's.

Anyway, my point to this long nonsense of a response is, maybe they just really want to be involved and help their beloved son out with some sound financial advice?

And please, I in NO way want this to come across the wrong way, I'm truly trying to look at it from a difference perspective... ok, I"ll shut up now.

Thanks for the input, Kaiser (and everyone else). I guess I am just irritated because we have always kept to ourselves and our house/cars/boat/lives/converstations, etc. give absolutely no indication that there is cause for concern, which is why I think they are just being nosey. They are not rich, but they are very comfortable, as are my parents. We are lucky that we had good examples in our parents, but I guess financial talk to me is just very personal. I had no clue what my dad made until I went to college and had to have that info for my financial aid.

Hi Ladies - just checking in. All is well. I have a doc appt this morning at 8:30 to repeat protein/glucouse and to check to see if I have dilated any further (which I pray I have not!).

Katy, it would piss me off too.

Jessica, I can't wait till the 15th! I am so excited for you. I know you have wanted this forever and a day and it seriously makes me smile when I see you post about it

AFM: Went to the OB yesterday for the routine- got on the scale, pee in a cup, have blood pressure done, re-schedule for 2 weeks.

Everything is perfectly fine. I have gained 14 pounds so far. I only gained 13 total with Noah, but 14 at this point isn't too bad. Wyatt is breech, but that doesn't matter either since it's a repeat c-section anyway.

That's it, nothing exciting.

Quick hello to all - had to pop on to pay bills quickly while Ada takes a quick snooze. Did a quick scan through and hope all is well Meek - sending good thoughts for your appt.

My best friend is here through this eve then I'll be on my own again until Sunday when a friend is coming through town - and then my oldest friend comes next Wed for a week and that is the last of the big visitors. I can't believe I have to start thinking about going back to work already - Sept 1 will be here before I know it which is when disability is up since Ada came early. My boss called yesterday to discuss, so we'll see what he has in mind - hopefully it's good, and flexible -

I hear crying - more soon -

Katy - I'm of the belief much like Kaiser about finances. I'm sure that while you are private about y'all's financial affairs they are just checking in possibly to see if you all need any help or to just advise you the best they can. Hopefully. I've never understood all the issues around people keeping all that kind of stuff to themselves. I think that is one of the reasons many Americans are in so much financial trouble. They can't just admit what they make and live within their means. (Not speaking to your situation here of course.) In general though, if people admit what they make then people, hopefully in a caring way, would start asking "So how are you affording that new Lexus, new pool, purses, shoes etc etc."

While this economy is rough for so many, personally I think it was a much needed wake up call to so many that they need to save for a rainy day instead of spending every last dollar they make, spending money they haven't even made yet and living above their means. While government is the worst example right now spending tons of money they don't have and developing more and more programs they don't know how they are going to pay for, putting generations in debt long after we are all gone etc., hopefully most Americans are smarter than that. I pray anyway....

Honestly though I'm sure they had y'all's best interest at heart.

Can anyone else getting close to the end not eat very well. I find I feel really bad if I eat, but I also feel bad if I don't . It is the strangest thing, I've never felt like this towards the end before. I'd almost rather not eat than feel like such crap after I do.

Amber - I can so relate to the sleep issues. I'm a stomach sleeper, so I get in this super weird looking position where one leg is pulled almost to my armpit on the one side to take the weight of my stomach and the other leg is straight out. I pretty much do feel like I'm on my stomach as much as possible, however, I just can't sleep through the night no matter how hard I try. I guess it's just God getting me prepared for waking up multiple times once the baby gets here.

Meek - Girl, you are definitely having issues this go 'round aren't you. My goodness.... I surely will be praying for you.

My heartburn is KILLING me....I'm going to start on Protonix tomorrow I can't take this anymore. Urghhhh.

Only 8.5 more weeks....woohooo!!!!!

Darn, I hate how we can't use color anymore. But.......I am having a baby BOY!! yay!! I had a feeling it would be a boy so it wasn't a shock when I found out but it is so weird knowing. I don't think it's sunk in yet that I'm having a son. Time to look at blue.
