i was splitting apart frozen hotdogs witha butter knife and my hand slipped dpwn the knife and it severed my tendon. the original doctor (an army one) laughed and said there was no way i got the tendon, put a bandaid on and sent me home. i dealt with it for 2 years (not being able to bend the top knuckle and finally went to a hand surgeon, he said it was BAD when he opened it up. Couldnt find the orginal tendon so he connected what was left to the middle knuckle so they all bend in one movement.

Christina - hope your hand heals swiftly and properly with no complications! I do some pretty crazy things with knives and cutting myself. If someone CSI'd our kitchen it would look like someone was murdered here! But I have never in all my clumsiness done so much damage as you!! What an a$$hole doctor for blowing you off like that. I'm really sorry that happened to you.
![]() I am feeling soooooo much better today, and I'm sooooo happy about that. And I'm down another pound this morning to boot! I was so afraid of a weight rebound because of eating some crackers and rice cakes the past two days. But I had a steak for dinner and then some cheese as a snack so I was crossing my fingers I'd be okay. I woke to extremem hunger though this morning.. have not had to feel that way in so long with all the low carb eating and high fat diet.. boy I can't wait until I go back into ketosis. So I'm officially down 10 lbs since the RE appointment which I'm happy about.. he wanted me to get down to 235lbs but I think that as long as I can show that I've been working really hard at things then I'm hoping he'll see things my way and give me clomid next appointment.. 10 lbs sure is a great start towards that I think!

How's everyone. This is a slow thread month, which I've NEVER seen in the two years I've been peeping in and out. I hope everyone's still encouraged about bringing forth their tiny little miracles and enjoying the summer, bd'ing and all that, just don't have time for chit chat....lol. Come let's say hi, everyone.
Praying and thinking about you all. I love you ladies. |

Hey Ladies,
I've been really busy and not really keeping up with things here too well. I'm out of school for the summer, but I'm taking 3 short session (18 days) summer classes for grad school right now and it's taking A LOT of time. I knew it would be a lot of work, but I want to have July off so this was the only way if I still wanted to graduate in August. I'm having the strangest period this month. I had some light/barely medium bleeding for 4 days, then I've been spotting on and off for the last 4 days. It's just weird because I usually have a light day, then 2-3 medium and heavy days, then a light and I'm done. This spotting is weird. Maybe it's the stress. Stress messes things up all around.

Andrea - I've had some periods where it's like 7-8 days long but just really light throughout, whereas my regular is 4-5 light/medium/light type pattern. If you're temps are down and you don't think there is a chance of pregnancy then hopefully this won't mess around with your next O and you can take advantage of your summer break to make babies!!
I'm, I *think*, in a tww right now but I'm not really 100% sure but whatever, I'll take it and run.. DH is really just not interested in BDing right now and that suits me just fine, we've been at this for ayear now so taking it a little easy for a few weeks would be lovely.. we've really been overdoing it cycle after cycle because of me not ovulating and us never knowing when we could stop 'trying' because my charts never clearly indicated when it was too late. Temps have been upping themselves for the past 5 days now so I'm claiming the win and moving on this cycle. Next month we'll do soy again and await to see what RE appointment brings. It's already 8 am here and dd is not awake yet.. been noticing she is sleeping in these days, seems to be her summertime pattern. Normally I'd sleep too but I got so much sleep earlier this week when I was sick I literally could not handle being in bed anymore this morning. Today is a dreadfully damp day so we're going to spend the whole day cleaning, Katherine loves cleaning so that should make her happy.. lol Her favorite is to vacuum and wash floors. |

Hey Ladies,
It sure has been quiet around here! I guess I really can't say anything since I have been contributing to the quietness. ![]() I've just been feeling depressed about this whole TTC thing lately. The baby I lost was supposed to be due July 5... as that date approaches I feel more and more saddened by what happened to me. ![]() I only have 9 more days of these grad school classes and then I am completely finished! I can't believe that I'll actually be finished since it feels like I've been taking grad school classes forever. It's really only been a year, though. But I will be really glad to have it over with. I am flying to Florida to see my grandpa the week after July 4th. I am nervous about flying! The last time I flew was in the summer right before 9/11. So, all of the new security rules have me nervous. I'm also nervous about fitting in the seat, sitting next to a stranger. When I last flew, that was way before I had lost any weight and I had to use a seatbelt extender. I was sitting next to my husband, so we could raise the arm rest to give my big butt some more room. But, this time I am flying alone so I'll be next to a stranger and I can't raise the arm rest and let my fatness touch him/her. I'l hoping that it will be okay. I'm a lot smaller than I was back then but I'm still fat. I wear 20/22 jeans now as opposed to the size 30 jeans I wore then, so hopefully my butt will fit in the seat. I really shouldn't obsess about it... but I will die of embarrassment if I don't fit. |

Andrea -
First of all, you'll fit in the seat. The last time I flew I was 20/22 as well and had no problems fitting in the seat. I don't remember thinking it was super comfy but I didn't have problems. You've done such an amazing job on your WL. And as for the saddness and loss, I empathize completely. My first baby would have been 7-8 months old now. My second would be almost 2 months. My sister had her baby 2 weeks after my second EDD. I look at that baby and part of me cries inside because it's exactly how mine would have looked. Passing the EDD in Dec. and not being pregnant was so hard. I used that to fuel me to rejoin the gym, start making healthier food choices, and to try to take control of the few things in life I could control. I also met with my doctor and started discussing options for testing and treatment. I wasn't sure if any of these things would work or help but it all helped me feel less out of control of the situation. I think I'm just rambling at this point. I guess my point is to say that I promise you time will make things easier and you will eventually be a mom, someday, somehow. I know it. ![]()

Andrea - Katherine would have had an older sibling, who would have been 7 around now.. I promise you that as time goes along it does get better. And your time will come sooner rather than later. Think how much more you will embrace being a parent because of your experiences in life. What a lucky child
![]() As for this cycle, how are things going for you? Where in your cycle are you? I had an unexpectedly early visit from AF this past cycle.. cycle was only 25 days long!! totally messed up my BW for the RE for progesterone.. lol the doctors receptionist didn't quite know when to tell me to try to get the BW done this new cycle because of this.. Have an ultrasound tomorrow to check for cysts etc., then a hysterosonogram on monday. Don't know if I should do soy isoflavones again this cycle.. not really sure that I ovulated last cycle or not but it sure made things shorter.. maybe it takes a cycle or two to get used to your body.. I don't know!!! If I'm going to do it then I will be doing it cd 5-9 instead of 3-7.. today is cd3 so I gotta figure this out soon. Lost weight really well on the soy so it's definitely tempting! |

????? I had a really light bloody show yesterday. Period is about three weeks late, there is NO chance that I'm pregnant. I have no other signs of ovulation. Do you think this was ovulation, and I just skipped my last period? Why else would I have a really light show? Could it be a VERY (and I mean VERY) light period? I'm still breastfeeding, so the irregular periods are no big deal, but I'm trying to track things down a bit...

Nik - I have no idea about post baby periods. Hopefully things are regulating for you soon since I know you want that.
![]() Charlotte - why did a short cycle mess with them testing your progesterone levels? What is the plan? To test at CD21 or test at 7dpo? If you aren't getting positive OPKs then there is no 7dpo. Also, I wouldn't continue taking soy if they are taking b/w this cycle. Did they do CD3 b/w? |

Amber - was already taking soy last cycle when I did the CD3 BW (on CD8) anyway.. I'm just going to go ahead and do it anyway and tell the doctor specifically I took it. I tried to tell him I was taking a few different herbal things but he just wrote 'herbals' on chart, didn't really seem to care which ones.. so it's his fault!!! the short cycle messed with the progesterone BW because he had told me to go get the blood taken on CD 30-33, but I only had a 25 day cycle.. crazy thing is I just realized that the doctor's receptionist told me to go do it this cycle on CD33... ummm so yeah.. I think that's kinda messed up and I'll have to call her in a week or two about that.. I'll wait to see if I get an O or not by mid cycle.
Nik - my period was really light and short this cycle so I have no idea what to say.. guess maybe sometimes it just happens?? I seriously had to convince myself it was a period and not just implantation bleeding or some such nonesense, but thankfully I chart and was able to convince myself. ![]() I explained to DH that I wanted to go a little hardcore with weight loss for the next few weeks until appointment with RE, explained why, about getting BMI down b/c doctors wants it at 35 for reasons and then he had the gall to say "what's your rush to get pregnant now anyway?" "What's the difference of now or a year from now?" Argh! I mean sure I want to be skinny with a cute baby bump and waiting a year wuld give me that possibly.. but I'm 33, daughter is already 3, and I keep thinking I might like to have a 3rd child even though hubby isn't so keen. So I don't know how I feel about what he said. I mean I'd like first and foremost to have a healthy pregnancy and baby.. and I would like to get my body naturally ovulating rather than totally relying on modern medicine.. I guess that's why the soy is so tempting because then it would make me feel better.. if that makes any sense.. If I knew for sure that I could keep losing and ovulation would just go back to normal in a few months then I'd just do that and take my chances.. but I worry that somehow I've screwed my body up for forever and don't want to turn my nose up at doctor's help in case it's my only avenue. ARGH!! I guess my biggest issue on all this is my need to feel like I might have 3 babies and not just stop at 2.. and that is something that hubby and i struggle with.. he doesn't say a firm no but he keeps indicating two is enough.. but I keep letting him know that if our financial circumstances would permit it I would like to have 3.. and so it goes.. argh. Weight is still stalled today.. getting majorly pissed.. been stalled since my body 'tried' to O like 3 weeks ago. grrrrrr... |

Char - you need to call your RE's office and speak to the RE or a nurse. CD33 b/w is not going to give them the results they need. Why did they pick that random date? If your cycles are shorter than that then they aren't testing anything. If you O earlier, then are they planning on having you come earlier for b/w? I've only heard of CD21 or 7dpo, which is usually CD21 for most people. Maybe your doctor will see your cd3 b/w and know what the issue is? Hopefully he won't keep making you wait to O when it hasn't been happening naturally for you.
As for your cycle being permanently messed up, I don't think it is. I only O'd every 3 or 4 months before losing weight. The WL triggered my body to start having more normal cycles and O'ing. Granted I was still O'ing late - CD20-30. But I was O'ing again. I think you'll eventually regulate but I hope your RE can speed it up for you if that's what you and your hubby want. ![]() |

Amber - i totally agree the b/w date is crazy.. maybe she meant CD24 and said July 24th instead?? CD24 is more like July 13th or somesuch nonesense.. I will definitely call the office or maybe just pop in next Monday when I go in for the next sonogram thing.
Ultrasound today on my lovely uterus. I nearly died I was so uncomfortable drinking a litre of water a hour before.. I think my stomach has shrinked too much!! Anyway, in the end she did the ultrasound vaginally so I needn't have drank the water and been in such discomfort afterall. My daughter came along to the appointment so we had to have an interesting conversation about what the technician was doing to mommy on the way home. lol |

Luna - I want to get preggers NOW! and for the past year.. but DH doesn't really care if we get pregnant now or when he gets back from his deployment (he's in the Canadian military, deploying to Afganistan in December for 6 months). DH thinks he probably only wants one more whereas I would like to think more about a third child before closing the book. All depends on whether he gets into a program to go from an NCM to an officer and if the second one was a healthy child with no health issues. Anyway.. having problems getting pregnant so more than likely I'll be here for a while as I have oodles of weight to drop! Nice to have you here.. no need to lurk!!

Hey Ladies,
Luna - My hubby is currently deployed to Iraq and will be back for mid tour leave in August and then home from this deployment by Thanksgiving (hopefully) so that is when we will begin 'trying'. We're not planning to really hardcore (chart, OPKs, RE etc) until we are settled back in after deployment. I'm recovering nicely from my surgery. I got all the bandages off and am now in just a splint so I can type again. I'm back on the ball with WW and I'm headed to the gym after I'm done with the laundry. Hubby will be home in less than 60 days so I want to really stick to this and look the best I can when he gets home. I'm up a few lbs since my surgery because my eating has been terrible! I'm back on track now and feeling great.Off to catch up! ETA: Those of you who have been around for a bit might remember 'the pants' (size 13 kind of stretchy jeans) I was trying to get into for when DH was in training. I am wearing them pretty comfortably today. ![]() Last edited by ArmyWife88; 06-26-2009 at 12:28 PM.. |

Thanks Nik. He began individual counseling and we will go to marriage counseling when he gets back but so far so good. According to his counselor what we went through was fairly normal among young married soldiers. I've also spoken to a few wives in the unit going through the exact situation. Ava is beautiful
I think we need more pics Just got home from the gym. 45 min on the elliptical and a cool down on the treadmill. I'm feeling good. My lunch was bad before I left though, That darned mac and cheese. It's like my Kryptonite. Luckily I didn't over do it serving wise. |

Yes the idea of completely suprising hubby when he came back would be AWESOME!
![]() He is trying to lose weight too so it would be nice to "suprise" each other. ![]() My theory is that if he were gone for a whole year and "dry" that he would be able to impregnate me just by looking at me by then. ![]() |
