Jacob is SO cute!! I love the avatar...

Nik...so you and your Leo probably have a blast. I know that Izzy and would be juuuust fine if he were a Leo. But this might just go more smoothly. heheh

Tracey dont feel bad. I had the same reaction when Errol first cried. Its not long before you realize what you will and wont be able to do. I was going to go back to work after my leave...but 20 minutes after he was born I knew that wasnt happening. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry about the recovery being tough. Its major surgery...and doesnt sound like they are treating it as such. (((Hug))) try to be very patient with yourself.

Today is pretty mellow. I slept yuck and felt pretty achy this morning. Just taking it all as it comes, right? Im at work...getting hungry for lunch. Its slow and my boss took off for a bit.

Tracey: I feel for you on the C-section recovery. It's so routine for the doctors that they don't even consider anymore that it requires MAJOR recovery. It took me three entire weeks before I didn't feel constant pain after Ava was born. If you follow my course, you're almost there! I don't really have any advice for you, because it is just very, very difficult. It does get better though, so hang in there.

Hi Ladies, well I have good news. I went for my check-up today and the nurse + doc was impressed by my BP reading (114/70) and the protein in my urine went down 100 points!! It's still kinda high (range is 0-138 --- mines is now 156), but the doc is not concerned. He said everything else looks good . He wants me to repeat the test in about a month. I also have to do another 3 hour glucose test during my next visit . My weight is UP to 220 (started out at 202) --- not too bad, I guess. I'm eating a lot better now, so prayfully, I won't gain too much more .

How are you ladies doing today?

I just got a call from the doctor 30 minutes ago, turns out I tested positive for the swine flu. Of course, since I tested on saturday, by the time I got the results back I'm already feeling much better. So they won't bother with any treatment since I'm already on the mend, but I did infect my husband and daughter!

Hazel ~ hope you're feeling better!

Meek ~ Great job on the BP and protein. Be very careful with pre-eclampsia, my SIL had it and was in the hospital for the last month of her pregnancy and still delivered about 4 weeks early. Mine came at the very end of the pregnancy and was still a big concern of the doctors. Tell DH I said he has to take very good care of you and baby!

Amber ~ I should've invested in stock for TUMS myself. I swear I ate them every single night before bed and during the night. Thankfully they always took the heartburn right away!

Tracey ~ Erin is also a tummy sleeper. I haven't tried it until right now and she is napping without fussing. Everytime I put her on her back she fusses until she wakes up. I'm also going to ask the doc about tummy sleeping.

How much is the monitor? I know Erin would rather sleep on her tummy, she wakes herself up every time I lay her on her back.

Hi Gracie, I didn't know you had preeclampsia? Was it during your last pregnancy? Did you ever experience the HELLP symptoms? I'm taking every precaution possible and trying to stay on top of things. I'll be sure to tell DH what you said. Thanks! .

Meek ~ I didn't know I had pre-eclampsia until AFTER I delivered! The last week of my pregnancy my BP was elevated but the doctor said he didn't think it was pre-e. The night I went into labor I had a horrible headache all day long. Once I delivered I had to go on an IV of magnesium sulfate to prevent any seizures. I should've known it was pre-e because I was blown up like a balloon. I swear I lost 15 pounds of water by the time I got home. Are you planning on quitting work early or at least cutting back a bit?

Wow, afterwards?!?! What was your pressure during labor and delivery? Were you able to have a vaginal birth? I'm afraid that something will go wrong and prevent me from having a natural/vaginal birth .

Even tho my BP is better and my test results as well, I am still a little worried. I was just on the pre-e board and a lot of women are saying the disease is *sneaky*. I haven't had any other symptoms besides the elevated BP and high levels of protein my urine. I know that's probably enough to still be concern. But, other than that, I feel fine. Do you think if my pressure remains stable now until it's time to deliver I will be okay?

I've been off from work since Monday, but I'm going in tomorrow. I planned to work until 9/30. I don't know if I can make it that long .

Meek: I had pre-e with DS ten years ago. Bottom line: nutrition, nutrition, nutrition. Make sure that everything that goes into your mouth is packed with nutrition. If you have pre-e or are suspecting it might be lurking, your baby may be getting fewer nutrients through the placenta. Make sure your blood is super-saturated with all kinds of good stuff to improve Christian's chances of getting plenty of nutrition and oxygen from your blood. (Don't forget to eat your eggs. Did I already mention Dr. Brewer's diet "cure" for pre-e? If not, look it up. It could be very helpful.)

You're doing a great job with your pregnancy. Take it easy, know that you're at risk. You know the warning signs, and you will get help immediately if they creep up again. If you start to feel "off" somehow, get in to see the doctor. My nurse was constantly telling me to come in if I ever felt strange for any reason.

Lastly, don't assume that you have pre-e or that you will get it. Stay watchful, but relax. You know we're all here for you, and you have tons of people praying for you and baby Christian!

Awesome post, Nik! Thank you! I will take heed to EVERYTHING you said. Someone on the preeclampsia dot org board mention the Brewer's diet. I haven't looked it up, but will now.

Thanks again!! .

Hello and good morning everyone!

Its Friday. Always a good start to a day.

Im feeling good ( so much better than yesterday, yuck! ) My husband is here at work with me working on his guitar. Its pretty...he just finished building it yesterday.

Izzy is kicky and Errol is happy. But he does go to his dads for the next week starting today. Poo! Maybe I will go steal him early.

Thats all I got. But boring is nice when your 8 month pregnant. LOL

Take care everyone...Ill check in on you later.

Meek...EXCELLENT job on the BP and nutrition changes!

Nik...great suggestions, Im taking them myself.

I wonder if that baby breathing monitor cant be found more affordably on craigslist. Its completely worth 140...but that is steep while your on leave. Hmm...

Hi everyone -
Nursing the remains of a headache this morning - my first migraine since before pregnancy. So just a quick hello - I'm reading but won't post personals this morning - just say have a great weekend - and Meek you TAKE CARE and listen to Nik and your doc!

I'm hoping to be able to focus more on Ada's latch while my family is here taking care of us - but hopefully I'll also be able to pop in more here to say hello and support everyone - I will also tell my birth story too when I can - I have it handwritten, but will get to it here soon It was an AWESOME day - that's all I keep saying - so glad the girls got a zillion pictures and a short video of her coming out - it really helps keep it all real in my mind and not fading.

Hi - just checking in. I have been sleep ALL DAY and I woke up with a slight headache. I think I waited too long to eat. Anyways, my pressure is still stable. I checked it upon awakening and it was 96/56 which FREAKED ME OUT!! I was about to get dress and shoot over to the ER. But, I sat up and re-checked and it was 120/77 (whew!). I think I'm obsessing wayyyy to much over my pressure just want to be safe than sorry - you know?

Anyways - you all have a great weekend!!

Katy - I can't wait to get that monitor. I'm glad you like it and trust it. It seems like such a good idea.

Meek - try not to over stress about your blood pressure. It will naturally be super low first thing in the morning because your body was just asleep. It will naturally be higher when you get done doing something streneous like braving the heat and carrying in loads of groceries from the car. Make sure you test it after you're up and moving around but not after doing something too active. It sounds to me like you're doing well with it too - way to go!!

Dessa - what a beautiful new picture of you and Eli!! So handsome!

Amy - take care of yourself. I saw your stats in your siggy and am very impressed by the fact that you're only up 6 pounds from starting weight already. Amazing!!

Melody - check craigslist and ebay. Hopefully you'll find a great deal.

Julie - that's scary that you caught swine flu. I hope you're already feeling much better.

AFM, it's over 100 degrees here and very humid. It makes going outside for even 5 minutes miserable. I know I shouldn't complain because you all are going through much worse being much further in your pregnancies. But it stinks to be dripping wet in sweat so fast. Blah!!

Oh, DH and I looked online at baby furniture. I think we settled on a set we both like but are now waiting 2.5 weeks for our big u/s and then will buy them. I'm also waiting on my baby bargains book to be delivered so I can check reviews too. I think the furniture is a scary purchase because it's so expensive. So far we've only bought 4 books for the baby. That's it. I have a feeling that the flood gates will open after the u/s and I'll be shopping crazy.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Happy Monday everyone. I have a baby checkup in a bit here. I have to talk to the doctor because the last week I have had pretty severe pain on my right side under my breast. Baby kicking my ribs maybe?

Me and DH got a lot done in the nursery this weekend. Last weekend when my mom was here she painted for us so this past weekend we set up the crib and rocker. We are having a dresser/changing table shipped to us any day now

Here is the start of his room. My mom is making us a navy crib skirt and curtains, and I am working on a camouflage border for the room as well

Melody ~ the room looks great, love the camouflage bedding! It's funny because your room is so blue and Erin's is all pink. Actually Erin and Grace are sharing a room right now. Did you know that when baby comes home the bumper pads come off the crib? At least that's what my doc said...anyone else? He said that they are a suffocation hazard and that it's better for the baby to get a bump on the head from the wood than suffocate in the bumper pads!!! Erin's crib is totally bare, just a pink sheet and a mobile...no bumper pads or blankets because I'm so paranoid.

Praying you're all having easy, happy, healthy pregnancies!

Gracie...I agree...Disneys bedding looks great. (((Hug))) I had to tease you a little.

I cant wait to nest! We move in 8 days and THEN I can get to work. I am all set to set up and sew. Nursing tops, sheets, blankies, slings...I have patterns and material for days. Got the cutest spring green with a very tiny and simple leave pattern on it for the sheets and to use as a compliment in the other bedding. I am going to use fabric paint to apply geckos to it. I got the pattern from DH tattoo of a gecko on his back. Its itty bitty.

I had those nasty "baby is falling" cramps again yesterday. thighs and low tummy and whoohaa. Not comfy. But it was a good day. I baked FIL some sugarfree cupcakes and we went out to visit. We ended up at arbys for dinner.

Errol is at his dads til Thursday. Its quiet around here. I am trying to enjoy it because its not gonna be quiet like this around her again for a loooong time. LOL

Amber, Melody and anyone else interested in the AngelCare Monitor: I have seen them on my local craigslist for around $65 so you might keep an eye out on your area!

Jackie~How exciting to get the nursery put together, very cute! I am hoping to have ours done (and everything else) by August 1st.

Gracie~I have read that about the bumper pads. I know they make "breathable" ones made out of mesh. I kept mine on, but mostly because I do have that monitor that beeps when there is no breathing. Not sure what I would have done if I didn't have that, probably would've bought a mesh one.

Melody~Enjoy your quiet time this week! You're right, that's all about to change! Any word on your induction date yet?

Got back from the lake today. We had a nice time, although there was some severe weather that ruined most of Saturday for boating. I have another beautiful sunburn to nurse, but thankful it's not as bad as the last one.
