Hey ladies. Happy Friday!

Katy - oh, thanks for explaining SNS. I wasn't sure of that yet either. You could always photoshop out the belly in the picture. Oh, and thanks for the shirt advice. I am fully prepared to ruin them all but am desperately in need of some. Hopefully I can get some good deals. I bought a 1x shirt that is pretty billowy (sp?) in the plus section for like $20 but that was the only one I could find that was decent, cheap, and had room to grow. I'm going to try motherhood this weekend I think. Dressing will be easier once I am out at work since I can wear more form fitting things. I'm still trying to hide it now so it's very hard.

Cheri - I admit it, I've become a cell phone in the bathroom user. I do it though because I have ZERO privacy in my office and the bathroom is the only place I can speak freely. I only do it when it's empty though and not when I'm on the toilet. ha! Good luck at the doctor's appointment.

AFM, today is DH's birthday so we'll be celebrating tonight. Dinner and then drinks and dessert at our house afterwards. Tomorrow we are planning on seeing the movie Up in 3d. I'm very excited.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!

Katy..thanks for the update.
Your feelings are normal. I try to keep things as normal and the same as they were bf the baby came. I pay more attention to them, extra love, hugs, playing, etc.
It is hard at times but i think the first week was the hardest!!

Melody..my dh is that guy on the cell in the office or anywhere. he has his own business and is constantly on the phone. And he is LOUD....it drives me crazy...i could only imagine what others thank. i am always like shhhhhhhhhhh!!
How old is ur ds gonna be? Ds2 will be 4 on the 28.
What a great boss relationship.

Cheri..i had my membranes stripped...it didnt help aanything, had cramps and lost my plug.
You are so close.
How old is Brianna.
They were a little whiney th first week. They love her now. I try to give them extra attention. Connar loves to help w/the baby. Tylar like for me to play games w/him or go outside so thats what we do. While i am cleaning the kitchen i let him go in the backyard and play by himself since he is a big boy...he seems to like that. i let them hold her whenever they want...they seem to enjoy that! they are VERY protective of her!!

I think Brianna understands. We have lots of baby stuff now, and I got her some DVD's off netflix. We watched 'Big sister Dora' and another one with Caillou. And I've told her we're going to get the baby out of mommy's belly and shown her lots of pictures of babies. She is almost 3 so she is old enough to understand that we're having a baby so I don't think she will be suprised to see it.. I just think there's gonna be a time after we get home from the hospital when she is "done" with the baby and then has to grasp that the baby isn't going away it's here forever....I think that will be rough...
It hurts my feelings too when I think about how upset she might feel if she thinks she's lost her mama-daddy Jeff and I are both only children so we've never been where shes going to be really.

As for stripping membranes that sucks it didn't work for you tonia......I'm going to ask him about it though. I'd really rather go into labor at home. I dont want to have to get started on the pitocin. I thought about using castor oil.. Someone at work told me their midwife actually recomended it, but my OB said it was nasty and would work but it's a terrible experience. He said he had a paitent that did it and couldn't stop pooing the whole delivery. I took a little with Brianna but I was chicken and it didnt work .

Anyways< i have been having contractions all morning but once again they don't seem to be going anywhere. I'll update after I get back from my apt.

Thanks Cheri. I needed a good laugh today. Nope. No castor oil for me. My husband would never let me live this down.

I am at 4cm

I had him strip my membranes. It didn't really hurt, but I did lose my plug for sure when I got home. I showed DH since he happened to be right outside the door and he got super sicked out

Oh and with the membrane thing i have a 50% chance of going into labor w/in 24 hrs.

Aww tonia she's precious! I love the bald baby look makes her look like the gerber baby.

you went from 4-10 in 30 mins omg! I just went swimming. I had some cramps and a couple big contractions but now nothing. I'm thinking since I'm progressing about 1cm/week I'll be ready to go in about 6 more weeks

Cheri~You've made awesome progress! You have completely gone through early labor (0-4cm) and will be in active labor (4-7) soon! I am betting baby will be here by Monday, too!

Tonia~Katelann is just beautiful!

I had a very bad/emotional day. It's too dumb to even post the details because I am sure it is 99.9% hormonal and nothing I normally would have been upset over. I am soooo sensitive right now.

My weight has completely gotten out of control. I took a sneak peek at the scale this morning....not pretty. As of my last appointment, I had gained 7 lbs. total, which is great (6 of it was in one month). Um, if things stay the same for Thursday's appointment, I will have gained another 9 lbs. this month! Ack! My maternity clothes that aren't stretchy are tight and I am feeling pretty miserable too. I am going to try cutting some carbs out (have not been watching what I eat at all) and drinking loads of water. The overall gain still isn't bad but it is more than I am wanting, especially with 3 months left.

Katy, I noticed that carb bloat came on much easier in pregnancy and stayed much longer. Still, after a week of cutting carbs, I usually was able to drop five pounds of water retention. I did not consider that to be losing weight while pregnant.

I said, "Who cares? I'll worry about my weight when I'm done being pregnant." I agree for the most part, but I wish I had eaten better then. Right now, I still weigh as much as I did when I was six months pregnant!!!

I have already gained WAY to much weight as well I am really watching myself now and hoping I can slow it down to 1/2 pound a week for the rest of my pregnancy which will put me right between 35-40 pound gain total

Tracey...I dont make alot of money. But we keep our overhead low and my boss more than makes up for it in perks. He even lets me go get Errol from school and bring him to the office to do homework while I finish my days work. My boss has been taken advantage of by one employee after another. I think he is just happy that Im honest.

Katy, thank you for filling me in. I had never heard of SNS before. Im with you on the Braxton Hicks. I hope you get a good nights sleep tonight.

Cheri I was a week late with Errol when they stripped my membranes. My contractions started slow and easy right after the appointment. By 4AM the next morning I had Errol in my arms. Which was good...since at 8AM that same morning I was scheduled for induction.

So far I have gotten all of my materity clothes from garage sales or motherhood maternity with the giftcard from my aunt. Even for free I hate paying those prices...I still have $29 on that thing. I got a bathing suit last weekend for half off ($20) I have gotten 3 tops and 2 pairs of shorts with the other hundred dollars. But I have gotten a TON of stuff at garage sales. Babystuff/maternity garage sales are always listed on my craigslist. That is why I am completely ready for the baby now and I have spent under $200. I have:
-pack n play
-carseat
-two carseat bases
-co sleeper
-two bouncey chairs
-tummy time mat
-5 sheets
-20ish receiving blankets
-4 extra large bags of clothes that will keep us set until he is size 2T
-baby bathtub
-bath products
-jumbo small-sized diapers pack
-costco box of wipes
-10ish hooded towels
-bouncer stand up toy (DH loved his when he was little)
-Im all packed for the hospital
-4 nursing tank tops
-3 nursing nightgowns

I am not getting a full sized crib because DS slept with me for so long. The co sleeper is going to fit Izzy for a while

I have a registry, it has cloth diapering and breast pump supplies. At a friends suggestion I will add a few toys to it. But everything that I have gotten is brand new or looks it. Im picky and cheap. I cant wait to move so I can get all the clothes out of bags and set up "shop"! Once I do move I will be getting a dresser for Izzys clothes and maybe put a changing pad on top...but I will probably still change and dress him on a blanket on the floor. Just feels safer, to me.

I am starting with a single manual breastpump, I just plan to keep a supply of a bottle or two tucked away in the freezer for daddy feedings and such. We have a freezer at work and I will keep a few bottles of milk there, too. Just in case nursing in private isnt doable for some reason. I hear Avent Isis is the best single manual pump. Im cool with $45 for it.

Ok...Im babbling...

Im nervous about the induction. I hear that it is so much more painful that natural birthing. Anybody have opinions or suggestions?

Tonia, She is BEAUTIFUL!!! My Errol is turning 12. I can hardly believe it! He graduates elementary school on the same day! Im going to be very emotional.

Cheri, Ive heard that about Castor Oil, too. None for me, thanks. Whoa! 4CM...youre so close!! How weird would it be if you got some special "creative memories" product that allowed you to save your mucus plug for sentimental reasons. I know...Im weird. That would be gross. I never saw my mucus plug...was it way weird?

AFM...I was hurting really bad after a busy day at work yesterday and Errols school carnival yesterday. TMI...but it felt like I had be kicked in the crotch! Bruisy Achy...Ive never been kicked there...but thats what I imagine it would feel like. So I put myself on bedrest and have been in bed since 7 last night. Its 5 in the afternoon now and the four of us are home having a lazy lazy day and enjoying the heck out of it. This morning my lower abs were still aching but the crotch thing has subsided. Anyone had that kinda thing going on? Oh...it was so weird!

My eating was herendous yesterday...so the scale was mean this morning. But Im disregarding it for the day and blaming salt. Drinking lots today and I just ate two apples with PB. MMMM DH made bean soup for dinner. I had ham/cheese lowcarb roll up for breakfast and a pb/j for lunch. There was some sugarfree pudding in there, too. Much better than yesterday! LOL

Yay, Cheri! I hope your labor is fast and easy (relatively speaking, of course!). I hope your contractions start so you can avoid the Pitocin! Can't wait for an update!

Haven't heard any new updates from Amy, I hope they are doing well!

I knew you would go soon Cheri. I hope everything goes well and I can't wait to see your beautiful little girl.

Katy~ My coworkers are taking bets on when he'll get here. They've predicted dates from tomorrow all the way out to the 18th. I've had a few mild contractions since Friday but nothing that makes me think I'll be in labor any time soon.

Tracey~The minute you think you will be pregnant forever is when labor will start (except in Amy's case, lol). Someone told me that and it was true for me. Your time will come soon!

Well, famous last words. I started losing my mucus plug this morning at about 5:45 and the contractions are feeling a little bit stronger...still not painful though. I haven't started timing them either because it just feels like one long contraction. There are moments when the crampy sensation intensifies but when it subsides, there's still a persistent dull crampy feeling in my stomach. We'll see how things go today.

I wish Amy would check in, I am starting to get worried. I know she's busy with new baby girl, I am just a worrier when it has been so long.....

I'm sure Cheri is holding little Bailey by now (I think that is her name !

Tracey~any updates on you?

I got the free crib today and it was much better than I had expected! It was one given to my SIL but she decided to use a different one that was given to her.

I really need to focus on getting my laundry done and put away tonight, the basement looks like a disaster area!

Hi Ladies -I've missed you all so much! I must sleep now - but my round the clock friends have left as of this eve (bless them - I've been waited on hand and foot) but now I'm on my own and settling in. So tired, but wanting to be in touch too. So for now here's the quickie update - still no name for Little G - but think I'm getting closer - she gained back from 5lbs 1oz which had us all a bit concerned to 5lbs 4 on Saturday - my milk is getting more steady now and she is getting the hang of latching on with a nipple shield. Tomorrow I'll know more after 9:15am appt. Will tell you all the details you wish to know. I can't believe it's been a week tomorrow - it was the most amazing day - so easy - and my healing is great. Here is my little love - she is so good - and I am so in love -
