Just saying a quick hello - family still here until Sunday. I miss checking in regularly though and will be back soon! Hope you all are well - all moving along here - still a "lower" supply of milk so working on that - but Addy is doing great weighing in at 6.5 this morning so no more visits till her 2 month birthday.
Back on the weekend - |

Tylar - I've learned over the years, that while I may not like a lot of the things my inlaws do, it's just easier to let it go (obviously if it were something really bad I wouldn't....). Do what you want, and let their stuff be extra. It won't hurt and ultimately I think they really are just trying to help. I know it's super annoying, but since that is really "all" it is, I'd just let it go. As Dr. Phil says, "Do you want to be right? or Do you want to be happy?" I find if I just go with the flow and don't make a huge deal to my husband, we all are soooo much happier. Because you know if he says something to his parents about it, it will just make them assume you are "b%tchy" or something. And even if they don't there just really is no good that will come of the situation. Your husband feels torn between hurting you and hurting them....so either way he loses. I just don't think it's worth it in this particular situation. Now when it comes to their overriding of your authority with your kids or something like that, I'd draw the line....but with this....I'd pass on this battle. Just my two cents.
Melody - You are doing SO freaking awesome with your weight gain (or lack their of) I totally would not worry about that poundage at the visit. I wish I could trade ya. My 25 pounds feels like like 50 I swear. And I still have 10 weeks to go. Being on vacation is not helping I'm fairly sure.So how many of you can not believe Micheal Jackson is dead? So crazy! I'm sure we all grew up with his music. True he was a total freak but I think he is one of those talents that will be hard if not impossible to ever match. It's unfortunate what fame does to peoples lives. Anyway hope everyone is having a great week. My hips are still my biggest complaint, at night the sharp shearing pain I feel in them is like nothing I've ever experienced. Is anyone else having this type of hip pain? Meanwhile talk to y'all later.

Hey all! Im with you, Jenny. Its just weird that Michael Jackson is dead.
Tyler...Im with Jenny...just let them have at it. Less drama is good. Just try to put yourself in their place. I know you arent them so its hard...but someday when your babies are grown you and they dont need you anymore you might feel the urge to give help even when its not requested. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is graciously accept what others are happy to give. You might just want to give them the gift of taking their nitrate filled junk food. But dont let that impact your day of providing an amazing spread to celebrate your sons birthday. I cant wait to hear all about it!!SO...I went to the doctor. They did the strep b test. I explained my pains and she examined me and said no effacement and no dilation. She blew off my contractions as BH and all seemed fine. Phew! Then she left. Then she came back and said that she is ordering an urgent ultrasound and fetal stress test biweekly. She said it all looks good but she wants to make sure he has enough fluid and space in there. Meh? I go in for the stress test and ultrasound tomorrow night at 6. What do you all think? Doesnt that seem weird? Like a total about face? But she said the important thing is that Izzy is moving...and he is...alot! But Im stressed. As it were...I gained 4lbs, blood pressure was 100/60...but my guess is that she missmeasured. That would be very low for me and I feel good. Im sure they will recheck tomorrow. His heartrate is great. His growth is a few weeks advanced as always. My strep b test wasnt so bad and neither was her examination to see if I was dilating. She did say that when the doctor took away sex that he surely should have taken exercise away, too. Too much pressure on the little guys sack. She offered to let me go on maternity leave a week early...but I told her that I do less at work than I would at home. But I promised that if I felt strained I would go straight home. Has anyone had one of these stress tests? What happens? Just had some pizza...baby likes! He is kicking up a storm in there!

Melody~I've never had a stress test/non-stress test so I don't know what is involved. And I agree, that is weird that she suddenly ordered it. Let us know how it goes!
Tonia~I can 1,000% sympathize with you. My in laws can be the exact same way and it drives me batty. What type of menu did you have planned? If it is way different than picnic type foods, I am going to go against the group here and say that you or your dh should call them and thank them for their kindness but that you had other plans for the party food. If you were already going to be grilling and their contribution would mesh well, then I say just let them bring it. I understand about your feelings of wanting to do it yourself, I am that way with any party I am throwing, mostly because I am extremely anal down to every last detail and it's just easier to do it myself rather than everyone think I am a B for being so detailed/picky. Jenny~I can believe MJ is dead either. I am presuming here, but I would bet it was cardiac arrest from an eating disorder. He has always been so thin, anorexic-like. His potassium was probably way too low. Sad about Farrah Fawcett too. AFM~My appointment today went good except he freaked me out a little bit saying that I would probably go early for 2 reasons: 1)it's my 2nd baby and 2)I got pg within a year of my last one. I have to make it to 37 weeks to deliver at the birth center rather than the hospital. I have so much to do, getting the house in order is my top priority because she doesn't need a nursery right away since we co-sleep in the beginning. Oh, and I gained 2 more lbs putting me at 16 total now. We are discussing my birth plan at my next visit. |

Ladies!Just a quick drive by.... Jenny/Melody: I'm still kinda in shock that Michael Jackson is dead. So sad. His music will live on forever! Well, I've been suffering from carpal tunnel. It doesn't hurt that bad during the day - but at night...OMG! It's terrible!! My doc said its due to water retention and that it will go away after I deliver. I so can not wait. Funny thing is - I have to wear TWO wrist braces (lol). It looks so crazy!!Weight: I have only gained 18 pounds thus far. I'm happy about that! I really want to start swimming and walking - but I can't find the time right now. I guess I will start in July. My church is having Family Day at the beach tomorrow. So, the kids and I were be there all day. It should be a lot of fun!! Have a great weekend everyone! .

I was thinking the SAME THING when I heard the news. I can't believe they tried to revive him for an hour. I read that when the heart stops, the first 3-5 minutes is critical. And, if you can't bring a person back within the first 10 minutes - it's pretty much over!! |

PLease pray for a little boy born yesterday. Another cousin in our family had a baby. His lungs were not developed. They transported him to another hospital. Remember the baby that just died about a month ago...the fathers are brothers...we really dont need this right now!!

Melody, I had one with Tylar...I think they just do a ultrasound or listen to the heart...it FREAKED me out when I had one. Tylar grab his cord and down went his heart rate. They sent us to the hospital STAT!! They just wanted to make sure he was ok. Everything was and he is fine now.
Are you drinking plenty of water? I got dehyrated and I started having contractions and my bp went down. Thanks for all the suggestions. |

Tonia~How terrible! Prayers being said and please keep us updated!
I had something scary/painful happen last night. I was sitting at the computer and every once in a while I would get a searing, stabbing pain in my right butt cheek (the SI joint). When I went to stand up, I couldn't put any pressure on my right leg at all. It was horribly painful if I put my foot down but there was almost no pain if I just stood on my left leg. I called dh in the room because I somehow had to make it upstairs to bed. He tried to act like a crutch, but there was no way for me to even put enough pressure down on the right side to even hobble. Since I am over 200 lbs. now , I wasn't about to ask him to try to carry me up the stairs. He's a strong guy and all, but that would be torture, lol.So, I decide to get on my hands and knees and crawl to and up the stairs. There wasn't any pain involved in that and by the time I got to the stairs, things must have shifted back into place because the pain was gone and I could get up and walk. To make my story a bit longer...I went into the bedroom and sat on my birth ball and read a little bit. When I was done reading I was in the same situation but this time it was worse. Dh was asleep downstairs and he couldn't hear me screaming his name. So, there I laid on the floor, unable to move other than army crawl one-sided to the top of the stairs. I screamed his name for about 30 minutes. I got kind of panicked and started sobbing. I gave up and just laid there. And then, suddenly again, I was fine and stood up and went to bed. What the heck????? My back has been popping all day and I have a nagging pain in the same place. I have 3 massages to do tomorrow so I am hoping it doesn't happend while I'm with a client! |

Tonia I'm sending prayers to your family. Please let us know how things are when you can.
Katy - I'm so sorry you're having these horrible pain episodes. Please take care of yourself best you can. Perhaps you need to keep a bell of some sort on you for the time being to summon your husband as needed Jokes aside, I hope you are on the mend and it was just a fluke based on the baby's position.Jenny - I'm amazed at MJ's passing as well - it's tragic all of this drug abuse that goes on. There's something about these extremely talented spirits that causes them to go down this path it seems. The weird thing for me is that whenever there is a huge life event for me there seems to be some media circus going on regarding a celebrity. My mom had several celebrities die around the time she did so there was always something "death" related in the news which was hard for me - then Anna Nicole died days before my Dad - and even though he was in and out of being "with it" he'd see her on tv and ask me what was going on. He thought she was a "pretty showgirl" - and now on Addy's original due date - MJ and Farrah - it's just weird and I have to say that I'm glad she wasn't born on the 25th after all. AFM - My 2nd mom left last night and I was so sad to see her go. The companionship was so wonderful - even though I'm used to being on my own, when I do have someone come visit and stay that I'm so comfortable with, I realize that I do enjoy that kind of connection once it's gone and it makes me start thinking about dating and marrying again someday. It was also so wonderful to have the nurturing of a mother figure - I didn't have to think about anything domestic the entire time she was here - during which I had an ant invasion that she managed and a leaky kitchen sink that we thought could possibly be coming up from under the tile - but thank goodness was not. So all of that support I will miss. Her daughter, my oldest friend, comes for a week July 16th but that will be a different kind of visit. Today I'm taking it easy and doing little things in between the feeding and pumping. I'm still needing to supplement and wondering how long to give it before I accept that I just may never have a big enough supply to only breast feed. It makes me sad to think of. But at least she's getting some for now. Tomorrow I bring Tinker home from "camp" where he's been this entire time - almost a month and I'm a little nervous to see how he will be with Ada since he's so used to being my "baby". I'm praying it will all go smoothly and I won't lose my mind in the process of having him to take care of as well. Still trying to figure out how to walk him and pick up poop with Ada with me. The carriers I have been given don't seem to be a match for me and she's too small for the baby bjorns yet. Any ideas? It's just a quick 3-5 minute walk around our complex - perhaps we will have to change our routine for a bit until she's bigger and just go right outside my unit/front door while she sleeps instead. I'm sure my monitor would work just fine right there - I'll test it today now that I think about it. That's my ramble for today - sorry so long - but I've missed you all. I'll continue to catch up on reading and I haven't forgotten about my birth story. I'm looking forward to sharing. have a great rest of your weekends and feel well mommies!

Katy - OMG, it sounds horrible. I hope you don't have that happen again.
Tonia - prayers to that family. How terrible. Please keep us updated. AFM, we cleaned our most of the nursery this weekend. I have a treadmill in the room still and a few things in the closet but it's empty otherwise. So we're close. My goal is to have it empty in the next few weeks and to order the furniture right after the big u/s. The furniture will likely take 6-12 weeks to arrive so we'll then have time to paint and get new carpet. I'm getting excited about starting it. I just realized today that this Friday is a holiday so no work for me. I'm super excited about a short work week. Yay!! Hope everyone has a great week!

Quick drive by.Saw the perinatologist today. Wyatt is doing awesome! Measuring a little ahead, but that's OK. They couldn't get any good pics this time because he was too busy playing with his cord and covering his face ![]() They moved my due date up 3 more days to Sept, 25 too. |

Katy - That sounds almost Exactly like what I'm dealing with nightly. I mean it's a drop to your to knees kind of knife stabbing pain. I asked my doctor about it and she said it's normal....I'm like..."THERE is nothing about this pain that is "NORMAL!" " But since the shearing part of the pain goes away for the most part after 8-12 agonizing limping steps, I'm guessing it's just a nasty side affect of this pregnancy. Never had this with the other 3, THANK GOD! If it's the same thing I have, I typically feel it at night the most....occasionally it will happen during the day, but mostly at night, which the doctor also assured me is normal after all we've been doing during the day. She also said it will get better when the baby arrives.....to think I've got 9 more weeks of this makes me want to cry real tears. So I feel for you girl, hang in there.
I'll write more tomorrow. I'm exhausted tonight. |

Hi all -
Quick hello before I close my eyes. Katy - worried about you, please let us know how you are doing. Jenny - sorry to hear you're having similar pain as well. Tinker is home! I was so nervous at first but he has done really well today - very respectful even though also very curious. I have been gentle but firm with him and it seems to be working. Ada is in a cradle/crib in my room now instead of on my bed and I'm going through withdrawls - wanting her here with me. I may still bring her in later after the first night feed to sleep on my chest for the remainder of the night though. I can't see into the crib from my bed because it's protected from Tinker, so I have my video monitors set up so that I have a view of her right next to my head even though she's only about 8 feet away! I'm wondering what will happen with the first feed when she wakes and makes noise to get my attention - I hope Tinker doesn't bark and startle both of us. Ugh - my eyes are closing - so I'll stop for now - hugs to all of you. |
