Hi ladies - just stopping by. All is well. I'm 24 weeks today
. Time is moving right along -- I'm so happy!! I have an appt to see the perinatal specialist this afternoon. I'm praying all goes well with my visit. I hope they will give me a sono to check the baby. My pressure has still been stable and my eating has improved over the past weeks . I'll check back in later . |

Hi ladies, I just left the docs office. I rec'd praises from the sono tech, nurse, and doc about my pressure. The doc said I don't have pre-e, but because I had protein in my urine there is a possibility I could developed it later in my pregrancy. He said my labs are normal, the baby looks perfect and there is no need to worry at this point. He want to continue to watch me and Christian until I deliver. He was the nicest guy ever!! They gave me a sono and Christian is currently 1lb 6oz (at 24 weeks). Awww...I get to see him again in 5 weeks! I can't wait
.

Amber: I tried SO HARD to enjoy being pregnant. After all those years of trying, it's hard to be unhappy during pregnancy. Even then, it was SO HARD to wait... Last night after reading these boards, I went into the living room and grabbed my baby and gave her the biggest bear hug... She's here! She's actually here!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that each stage is precious, and we never get it back... |

Hi everyone,
I really miss not being able to check in like I used to. Cayden is a fairly easy baby but when he's asleep, there's so much other stuff to catch up on around the house. I spent most of my spare time yesterday trying to get his birth announcements done and we had some contractors here installing a new front door. I'm about to run out and pick up his birth certificate before my husband heads to work. I ended up at the OB's office on Monday because my c-section incision started to leak. The doctor and midwife drained it and said that it wasn't infected. It was just fluid build-up that needed to come out. They prescribed an anti-biotic for me to take as a precaution but one of the side effects is diarrhea. I only took it for one day and I don't have diarrhea but Cayden does so I won't be taking it anymore. I'm hoping it clears out of my breast milk today so he can have some relief. Otherwise, things are going OK. I have to say that since they drained it it feels so much better and I've been rinsing the incision with warm salt water and applying a topical antibiotic. The doctor won't be happy that I didn't take all the antibiotic but if he's got such bad diarrhea after only 1 day of those meds, I can imagine how bad it would be after 7 days. Quote:
Meek~ I'm so glad that things are looking up with your pre-e symptoms. ![]() Nik~ Thank you so much for your advice on the c-section recovery . It really is difficult and my doctor acts like it's a scrape on my elbow or something. Jackie~ The nursery is beautiful. I love that blue you chose.

Tina - welcome and congratulations!!!
Nik - I know what you mean. Each time I start to complain about something aching or heartburn I stop myself and say how grateful I am to be experiencing any of this. I'm glad you gave Ava a big hug last night. She's such a doll. ![]() |

I am freaking too. I have nothing done. Nothing. I realize I still have 10 weeks to go, but with a toddler running around it makes it nearly impossible to just focus and mark things off my list. I babysit my niece every weekday morning while my sister teaches summer school and next week is the last week so I am hoping July will be more productive.
I still need to deep clean the entire house (and attempt to keep it that way, lol), paint the baby furniture, paint the nursery, wash her clothes, buy newborn diapers, re-sterilize my pump parts, pack away all of Tucker's outgrown clothes, etc. I think I may enlist some babysitting help from one of the grandmas so I can work on things for an entire afternoon once a week or something. It is soooo hot and humid here. 103 today, heat index of who knows what, probably 110 or so. I have an appointment tomorrow, I am every 2 weeks now. |

Hi all,
Sheesh, I had to read up on 2 pages, y'all are so chatty. ![]() I'm in Va and lovin' it of course. However I have to say I definitely have had a reality check about how much my life is going to change in 2 months. I mean I know I've had 3 other babies but it's been 6 1/2 years.... I watch my little nephew and my sister running after him and dealing with his erratic emotional upheavals all day every day. I mean don't get me wrong he's awesome, I'm just thinking to myself....wow, I really need to get prepared for the 24/7 thing again. My boys are so self sufficient at this point, they could do pretty much everything for themselves if I let them. Anyway my shower is this Saturday. We'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to it. Gracie - Sorry to hear about your appendix...that really is horrible. Glad you got medical attn fast enough before it ruptured. Meek - I'm a worrier too, so I totally get it. I'm glad everything is looking good though. I'm going to be 29 weeks tomorrow....time really is flying. The finish line is in sight. Only 10 more weeks for me since I'm having a scheduled c-section. Speaking of that: Tracey - I don't remember having any sort of pain when they took the staples out, do you think it was the beginnings of a slight infection that made it painful. I hope I just haven't been lucky up to this point....now I'm worried it will hurt this go 'round. One of the times they didn't use staples which was fine with me. I think the staples look so gross even though they are only there for a short period of time. We went to Hershey Park in PA yesterday. Of course I didn't ride anything accept the lazy river in the water park section....but even that wasn't that relaxing because I couldn't get my big preggo self up on the donut raft thingie....lol...so I just walked along. I really wonder why pregnant people have to pay full price honestly because we can't do anything at those parks, there weren't any shows going on either....so it was a lot of sitting waiting for everyone to ride rides. Anyway hope everyone is doing well today. Talk to you later, jenny

Jenny: I remember feeling a pinch when I had my staples removed. It was painful, but not too bad. I think you might be onto something about Tracey's infection causing pain. I also remember that it hurt more the first time than it did the second, but I think my first doctor kept the staples in longer, so there was more tissue holding them in...
Gross no matter what. |

Hey all!
It is so gorgeous outside! Meek I am so excited!! I am so close. And Katy...Im going to be induced during the week of July 15th. So that is just 21 days away!!! We move on June 30th (next Tuesday evening) and then I get to start full fledged nesting. I went thru all the clothes and divided them up and REpacked my hospital bag last night. I am sleeping in spurts at this point...I get tired at about 7PM and then still up until 10PM then I am up until 1 in the morning...then I sleep until 6AM. Its really odd. Anyone else experience that? I am totally wired during that awake time. And I feel fine the rest of the day. I have started having another issue that I figured this would be a great place to go for some opinions...I am contracting ALL the time whenever I do activity (stand up, reach...) But they say not to go to the hospital until they are regular while laying down. I was also told to drink lots of water before I lie down and to stay on my left side. And I have been getting the worst cramps! Low back aches that radiate down my legs and it all seems to start in the groin. I get alot of relief from sitting on my birthing ball. Im sure this is all normal...but I dont remember any of this with my last pregnancy. I am going to the doctor in about an hour. My appointment is with the Nurse Practitioner for my Strep B test. I am going to ask about the aches and pains and contractions...just in case. I also found out that if he writes me a prescription I can get a free breast pump to keep (forever and ever!) I am going to see if he is up for that. I am going to ask about his stance on episiotomies, too. Im pretty open on the subject, but again curious about his opinion. I dont like late in the day visits...Im always heavier. I have gained 4lbs in the last two weeks. I would be down about it...but they all came in 2 days. The weekend after I was last there I got on the scale and gained two lbs both days without eating changes...Im gonna chalk that up to the baby needing something. So it is what it is. But I hate going after eating all day and drinking all day...I can easily gain 5lbs thru the day. LOL Im crossing my fingers that since they are inducing that I might get another ultrasound. I havent been told it...but it makes such sense to me! Happy 24 weeks, Meek! And happy 17 weeks, Amber!!! They will start to fly by now. ![]() Ahhh...you guys are so helpful. I dont plan on a breathing monitor...he will be sleeping with us. But I was just shocked by the price of $140 and whenever something is pricey I always think "craigslist?"... $65 is much more doable and if I think that it would be a good idea I will be right on that. Tracey...oh my gosh! Ouch. I hope you have a much easier healing from this point on. Im not gonna pretend that you having a lower postpregnancy weight than my prepregnancy weight didnt make me jealous. But congrats! WELCOME TINABEANUS!!! Congrats on your new pregnancy Ahhh Katy. Dont sweat it. It will all workout. All your little girl really needs is a happy momma to hold her ...and maybe a small pack of newborn diapers...The rest will happen. But enlisting some afternoon help so you can take a leisurely pace and really enjoy your nesting might be just what you need. Jenny! Happy Virginia visit!!! I hear you on preparing yourself to "start over" after they are self sufficient. But this is the only way I would have it. I dont know how moms do it with more than one little one. The cool thing is that this time I have one amazingly helpful son and you have 3 amazingly helpful sons to help us out and share the experience. Im not suggesting that our boys are gonna be raising our babies...but extra eyes and hands are always helpful when you are wrangling a toddler. LOL I could be misled though...but Errol was never emotional. He was so easy going. I wonder what Izzy will be like. Im so hungry all of the sudden...

I have a question/dilema.
I sent the inlaws a pic of the little ones on there phone today. The called me right after I sent it. We talked for a minute. And then they are like tell dh that we have hot dogs, chips, and baked beans for Sunday. Sunday is ds 4th birthday party. I DONT WANT THEM TO BRING ANYTHING. This is my time to prepare and invite people. Not theres. I want to provide everything. I didnt ask for any help. But every year they bring it upon themselves to make things and bring it. I feel that is part of my duty as a parent and the host of the party. Am I wrong. If I mention it to dh he is like well you dont mind it when they help out other times. I just feel this is my time and I want to do it ALL myself and everyone just show up and have fun. Its not a potluck!! What do you think? |
