Ive felt soo sick today and last night my head started pounding and hasn't stopped!!! ARG!! I am so glad its out and can not wait till I feel better. So I'm still feeling shity today. My uterus is killing me and I still have a fever. I have dropped a couple lbs. since wensday no dieting at all. My eyes aren't as blurry as they have been the past 3 1/2 years since I got it put in and my anxiety is gone. I am so relieved but so mad. I want to shout from the rooftops " Don't get this thing put in "!! I know my weight will fall off now and I'm looking forward to that. I just want to feel normal again.

Amber,
That's not being lame brained at all. You could easily have a uterine infection because that's where the Mirena was placed. In fact, you could (unfortunately) have both. It sounds like it's clearing up. That's good news!! Mary |

Wow, that's great! ![]() I have an appt on Monday to talk to my dr about getting mine removed. She already started me on the pill (she said it's ok to be on both ). I really don't want to have those horrible periods again though! I decided to try Yaz, and so far it's going well, been a month with nothing bad. But those 4 days with the fake pills = solid migraine! She may do the "stay on the pill straight through without the placebo week" thing with me, since apparently it's the dip in estrogen that's causing most of my migraines.

OK - I've read so many things about Mirena, Essure and Tubal. I'm trying to decide what is best for me. I see Amber had a horrible experience but others have loved it.
I just don't know the Mirena seems like a winner to me because ever since I had my third child (2 years ago) I have horrible heavy periods (changing pad at least every 2 hours). So the fact that it could lessen my period or even have it go away is tempting. Plus, even though I know it is very unlikely we would have more children the fact that that choice is taken away from me is kind of scary. Essure seems like the greater possiblity if I do decided to go permanent since there is no-cutting involved. Although the coils inside me forever hmm.... Even Tubal seems a lot less recovery time than before. Just don't know. Any thoughts?

Hi Kelley!
I have had the Mirena IUD in for 4 years now and all I can say is that it's the best thing I ever did. After about 3 months - my periods were reduced to barely spotting and after 6 months I had no period. It's weird - because I still know when it's that time because I get the slightest of cramps and a mild headache but no actual period. Anyway - I'm sorry to hear that some people are having serious problems with it - but it has worked great for me. |
