Hi Ladies -
Wanted to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING this morning so that I hopefully don't miss anyone who may be travelling! I'm so happy to be working from home (my bed at the moment!) - and looking forward to being with friends tomorrow and watching the parade in the morning - big tradition for me. I started a little holiday shopping on my way home yesterday and it really got me in the spirit of the season! Hope you all feel well and enjoy your family and friends! -Amy |

I was reading in my new "twin" baby book that you burn around 1,000 calories a day when breastfeeding twins!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have a safe and peaceful holiday.
Maryposa: Wow! That's alot of calories. I know when I BF both of my children I was extremely hungry ~ no wonder! I didn't realize how many extra calories you are burning. |

Even for a die-hard low carber that is a lot! hehe But this particular author (a Dr) specializes in multiples and his #1 goal is to get the babies to a healthy weight and period of gestation before they are born. So I will trust his suggestion. ![]() |

I know when I was on active with Atkins, they always recommended 150 for any pregnancy! It IS a lot - I'm having trouble some days getting over 75!

I'm going in the opposite direction-trying to reduce carbs. I'm gaining weight too quickly and want to slow it down. If I don't gain another pound, I think I'd be OK. I haven't actually been counting anything, but I'm trying to avoid sweets, which is REALLY hard!

Hi everyone,
The hubby and I are back from vacation. That was the rockiest cruise we have ever taken . I don't know if my preexisting nausea made the sea sickness worse but it was an unbearable experience. I have never been so happy to get home from vacation. I wanted to kiss the ground.![]() Kaiser~ I'm so sorry about the baby. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Krysta~ The twins are beautiful and they've grown so much! Oh, I had my first ultrasound today. The baby had a strong heartbeat and the ultrasound technician is predicting that it will be a boy. We'll know for sure in 8 weeks. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Mary, that makes sense (buring 1000 calories), considering I am hungry ALL THE TIME! LOL Speaking of, I dropped another 2 lbs today! I'm now 6 lbs away from pre-preg weight! You must be reading Dr. Lukes book. I couldnt get over her recommending so much weight gain, so I never really got into that book. I need to get to the bookstore and find some books on actually RAISING twins now!
![]() Speaking of BFing, did I mention to you ladies here that I am actually BFing Ronan twice a day now? I go in at 9am and 6 pm to BF him. His other feedings he still takes through the feeding tube. I have to use a nipple shield with him, since his cute little mouth is so small, but eventually I will get him off that. Ashe is still going on and off the CPAP, so I cant start trying with him until he is off of it. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was full of unwanted drama, but of well, its over with now, I hope. Talk to you all again later!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I've officially skipped my period, so will be testing at some point this weekend. If I don't get to before I leave, I will when I get home on Sunday night. I don't feel like I did before though. My breasts are a little sore, and I seem to get queazy a little easier lately, but no puking. and I'm not anymore tired than usual. and I'm not peeing every ten seconds. My last pregnancy, I had all those things. I know every pregnancy is different. So, we shall see what the test says I guess ![]() Last edited by Toridoll2004; 11-28-2008 at 11:29 AM.. |

Cheri:
I was SOOOO hungry during that point in pregnancy. Then, as the baby got bigger and my stomach had less room...heartburn returned. Now, I have to eat very frequently, and only little bits. Enjoy it-it's good for both of you! I can't believe I'm almost to my EIGHTH month! HOLY COW!!!!! ![]() |

Oh how I wish food tasted so good! I'm beginning to feel like food is such an effort and I would quite happily never eat again if I didn't have to keep in order to keep the queasies away. Such a different relationship with food than ever before!
I can't believe you're in your eighth month Nik - that's amazing! Then again I can't believe I'm in my 10th week and I'm sure my head will be spinning before I know it and I'll be saying I'm in my 8th month. I've been quite restless this long weekend, but not motivated to do a blessed thing except sit on my booty - I'm praying the nesting and energy for it kicks in after the holidays (or sooner)! I just realized it's only 6:30 and I was feeling like it had to be at least 8pm. Guess it's a really early night tonight for me - -Amy

Nik-- I got heartburn the other day from pizza! I was SO mad because last time I didn't have that problem until much later and I never have it otherwise. I guess it is a trade off for no puking. And congrats on 8 months! From what I remember from last time, time goes very slowly in the last couple of months
![]() Amy--You are only 2 weeks away from your 2nd trimester! MS should stop soon, i hope. Mine stopped at about 10 weeks I think, but it was never really severe |

good morning all,
hope everyone is doing good. I'm so tired, I traveled home last night from Pennsylvania, and the traffic was horrendous. I took a greyhound bus, and there were other issues, andf I won't ever take the bus again. The whole trip was just miserable. I totally skipped my period from November, and bought a test this morning. Just waiting till I have to go to the bathroom. hopefully, soon! I'm at work, but gonna take it here anyways... ![]() if it comes out positive, I hope my dad doesn't get too mad. He just bought my wedding dress for me on Friday.. |

It was negative, but that is alright. I'm not upset or anything. Now I can just focus on the wedding

Re-test if you don't start soon. My TOM was like 10 days late and I had 2 negative tests before the 3rd was positive. I remember from my miscarriage that it messed my cycle up for about 4 months afterwards. Sometimes it would be 6 weeks, other times it would be 3 weeks between periods. I actually got pregnant again in the 5th month after the D&C, so I don't know, it may have messed with my cycle even longer if I hadn't gotten pregnant then. |

Good Morning all -
Still having the queasies and a little headachey this morning - but actually glad to be back at work. I was so lazy the last few days that I was really bored - but had no motivation to get anything done and didn't feel great anyway. I decided to wear some maternity jeans this morning that a friend gave me and I'm wishing I hadn't. Apparently they don't fit me properly - although I thought they did - because when I bend or sit, they slide so far down my bottom that I actually thought at one point they were going to roll right off - not comfortable or attractive! So these will not be worn again! The things I never thought I'd have to deal with!! Hope you all have a good day. -Amy |
