Amy: We can't agree on any names!!! My DH likes Erin for a girl and he can't even think of a boys name! I like John (Jack) or Michael. I like very traditional names, not into the new-age names. My DS is Richard (Ricky) and my DD is Grace. In their school the popular names are Cameron, Tyler, Brandon for boys and Olivia, Alyssa, Michaela for girls. All very pretty but not my cup of tea. I'm kind of stuck on a girl's name. I like Erin too but just not sold 100%, ya know? How about you?

So is your daughter named after you or do you use her name as your online ID?
I have some old fashioned family names in mind - Ada Jean after a great aunt and my Mom - although not sold on it. I also like Meredith. I always liken Aiden for a boy, but it's become so trendy now that I'm not really into it anymore at all - Most likely I will use John after my uncle as the middle name though. Dylan is one that keeps popping into my head although I don't know why and was never something I really had thought about. It feels sort of funny trying to think of names before he/she is even here. I would never name a pet until I had it and could check out what fit - so I have a feeling part of it will be really checking it out once he/she is born. Amy wasn't even on my parent's list and then the story goes that when I was born my dad suggested it based on the song "once in love with Amy" and it stuck. I've also always loved the name Grace! So much to think about ![]()

Oh right!!! I do have pregnancy brain don't I??? First I forget "our" name and then I read clearly that Tori is getting married in 2009 but think that it's already 2009 this year! I've actually already written it on some checks accidentally. The other day I realized my child will graduate high school in 2027 - now that freaked me out! How is that possible???
So you go by Amy at home but Gracie on here then... guess it makes it easier for me ![]() |

yeah I think it was 155 or something but i think Gracie said 140 and below for boys, he was pretty close to 160 I think. The first time they couldn't get it long enough for the monitor to read it because he kept moving. But it was in the 150s.

Tori - Hope that you will be getting good news soon. Good Luck!!
Amy - What a wonderful feeling hearing that heartbeat for the first time. It is a great feeling. My babe's heartbeat was 160. So we will see about the Old Wives things when I find out. I am 12 weeks right now so have a little longer until we know. |

Good Morning Ladies!
Well I'm afraid to jinx myself but I seem to have found a way to keep the ms under control. It seems if I eat every couple of hours or if I forget as soon as I feel the queasiness come on, I can keep it at bay. I don't always feel like eating, but if I just get something down, it makes a difference. I hope it continues to stay manageable like this. Hope everyone has a good day today - I have a busy weekend with chores that are so backlogged and a friend coming to stay Sunday night that I haven't seen in awhile so it will be fun to spend some time together. More later - Amy |

Most important thing is to let them know up front that your PG - they'll then adjust their methods for you. You could also put a call into your OB office and ask them what you need to be aware of before you go see the dentist. Of course it has to be a Friday right? I hope you can get it all taken care of today before the weekend. Feel better and keep us posted!

Gracie- My OB encourages you go to the dentist at least once while preggers and not to skip it! The dentist should know what changes to make if you tell them you are expecting. But check with your OB

Hi Mel - Thanks for the welcome.
Ladies, I started a thread asking this question. Maybe you all can help me here. Ovulation and Pregnancy Questions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Everyone ! Okay, my period has been very regular before I gained all this weight. Now it's all over the place (break down below). I have been VERY sick for the past week and think I may be expecting. Period schedule: Jan 28th Feb NO PERIOD (I was abstinent during this time, so I wasn't worried) March 6 AND 22 April 26 May 27 June 27 July 30 August - I can't remember is I had a cycle or not. I don't think so thou. September 8 October 19 - I was 41 days late then my cycle came November - 2 days late Last month I was 41 days late and then I got my period (Oct 19th). I am 2 days late and no period. I started having sex (after being abstinent for a few years) on my wedding night (Aug 15). I am having all of the symptoms (nauseous, backache, glued to the bed, exhausted all day, etc) but I still don't know. It's been a while since my last baby. Could I be pregnant or do you all think my period will come in the next 10 days. Please help, thanks!

my cycles were always all over the place till I started losing weight and they evened out. I know since I was wanting to get pregnant that I felt many symptoms when I was not pregnant ( maybe because I wanted to be so badly) but once I actually was pregnant I didn't have the symptoms I thought I would
![]() Have you taken a home pregnancy test? They are very accurate. |

Meekness! I am the same as Mel, even when I wasn't pg I thought I was having symptoms. The month I was pg I had no idea!! I have a dollar grocery store that has pg tests for $1. If I were you I would just go buy one to be on the safe side. If you are pg you want to get the best pre-natal care as quick as possible. Good Luck!Amy: Hope your strategy to ward off m/s is working well for you today! Here's my lovely menu: Captain Crunchberries, cherry poptarts, pierogies, and 5 chicken wings/ranch. My cravings are all over the place!!! For dinner I'm craving wedding soup and maybe a grilled cheese! AFM: My tooth isn't hurting as bad as this morning. I am a total wimp when it comes to the dentist, they scare me!! My DD is home today with a sore throat and fever, hopefully I won't inherit it. It is sooooooo cold here today. The weather is in the 20's but the wind chill is 2* - BBBBRRRRRRRR!!! Everyone have a great Friday. |

Mel, thanks for responding. My cycle became very irregular since I picked up 40+ pounds. I took a HPT before during one of my pregnancies and it didn't show in my urine, but I was actually pregnant. I going to take a BT to be certain. I feel like I'm about to come on now... but still no period.
One of the symptoms I am having (vericous veins in my breast are clear as day!!!) FREAKED me out... and that is why I really think I'm pregnant!!!! |

(If it was me) I would buy a home test and take it, then do the blood test either way, for confirmation. I am just the kinda person who wants to know things right away and the sooner I get an answer the better. I know here in Texas we have "Dollar Tree" and they have the tests for 1 dollar. Those are the ones that came up positive with my baby. They are cheap and simple but they do the trick!

Hey ladies. Things are really getting exciting for all of you. I can't believe how soon some of the due dates are now.
Mel - I wanted to ask you on the other thread but figured I should post here to keep it as seperate as possible, but how is the weight gain going? I remember when you first started gaining w/ the pregnancy that your doctor said something, but I wasn't sure if the weight gain slowed or how you've been feeling. Since I hope to get pregnant soon, I figure I'll be around the same weight as you were and wanted to see how things are progressing in that department. Meekness - good luck in finding out if you're pregnant.

Amber... last appt was good I gained exactly what she told me to ( 2 lbs) next appt is in an hour and I just had a big lunch sooooo..... we'll see but I have been good about avoiding sugar and fried foods.... I have been eating very carby, cause it's the only thing that keeps me full for at least 2 hours, but not junky. So I figure whatever I gain is healthy enough and I know I'll be able to get it off after Jacob is born, I lost 65lbs before ,I can get it back off and then some... no matter what the doctor says.
( that's for her if she says I gained too much) ![]()

I started getting positives on the $ tree tests 8 days after I ovulated, so Im sure if your period is due, you would get an answer with a HPT. My luteal phase is 14 days long, so getting a positive 8 days after ovulation was 6 days before my period would have shown up! HPT's are a lot better now-a-days.

Grace: Have you considered oil pulling? If you have any coconut oil, take a tablespoon or so and just swish it and pull it through your teeth for about two minutes. It could help dislodge anything that's stuck, remove any infection that may be forming, or moisten any tissues that are sensitive due to pregnancy. DO NOT SWALLOW! Spit it out when you can't stand it anymore, and repeat as often as necessary. Try it for two days, at least once a day, to see if you have any relief. Also suggested for use if you don't have CO are sunflower oil, safflower oil, and/or olive oil. Of course, the best is the least processed, most virgin oil. Good luck!
I went to the dentist, told them I was preggers, and they were SOOOO gentle! ![]()

Meekness: Sorry, hon.
I highly recommend getting the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It will show you how to find out exactly what is going on in your body. It made a huge difference for me and I learned a lot from it! Amy~I can't remember if you mentioned it before, and I'm sorry if this is too personal to ask, but are you in a relationship? I can't remember you mentioning a DP or if you will be a single mommy? to everyone else! I am getting excited for January when I actively ttc #2! |

Hi All -
I made it through another day seeming to keep the queasies under control. It sure feels nice to not feel awful all day. I hope this continues. Katy - not too personal - I had mentioned it on the Getting healthy for Baby board awhile back that I am Single Mom by Choice (with donor). Not how I ever thought it would be for me but how things wound up. After caring for my parents before they passed through the past 8 years I spent time over the last year deciding what I truly wanted now that I was starting over essentially - and I realized I wan't willing to give up on my dream of being a mom. Since biology showed to still be all on my side, I gave it a shot this way - otherwise I had planned to foster/adopt - and still may do that as well in the future. It's terrifying at times - especially now that it's real, but I plan to take it one day at a time. And I haven't given up on men of course, it's just that the clock was about to sound the alarm big time, so it was time to proceed. That may all be tmi - but that's my story ![]() Have a good weekend ladies - Amy |

Amy~I think that is so fabulous! I have such respect for single moms! My ex-bf was a single mom as a senior in high school. Even though we are no longer friends, I have great admiration that she finished and got her diploma. I have no doubt you will be a wonderful mommy! Were you able to look at donor profiles to pick desirable traits? I am very curious and thanks for sharing!
