Pregnancy Thread ~ 3/23 - 3/29

Hello ladies! I'm back!

Sorry I have been MIA. I have been very sick with a nasty cold/sinus infection. I am now on my THIRD round of antibiotics, and am finally feeling better. I think last night is the first time I have slept through the night in weeks. And I can finally taste and smell again! It has been horrible. I've had to miss a few days of work, and when I have been at work I've been taking naps in my office on my lunch break instead of reading the boards.

I hope everyone has been doing alright. I'll have to go back and read previous threads to see what's been going on. I have my doctor's appointment on Tuesday and they've scheduled me for another sonogram, just to make sure the baby is growing properly. The nurse at my doc's office gave us a great idea. DH and I are gonna get one of those "talking" picture frames. You know, the ones that you can record a message on. We're gonna record the baby's heartbeat and put one of sonogram pictures in the frame.

I was 33 weeks as of Friday. I can't believe I only have 7 more weeks to go! And I know some of you ladies don't even have that long! I am getting very excited/nervous now. I can't wait to see what she looks like and to hold her, but I am very nervous about giving birth. But whatever happens, no matter how painful it is, I know it will be worth it in the end!

I think I've rambled enough for now. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Susan

Only have a moment but wanted to pop in and say hi!!
We're doing pretty good here. I can't believe that I'm almost in the 3rd trimester. This one is going by so fast. And I have so much to do to get ready. UGH!!! Especially since it's going to be grand central station when all the family starts coming thru.
I'm going to schedule a walk thru of the hospital soon. I've never delivered at this one so I'd like to see what it's like to be better prepared. Other than that not much else going on. Just starting to buy the bigger stuff now that we have all the little things that we need.
To all the ladies that are getting close: Good Luck!!! Nothing in the world can touch the moment that you hold you baby in your arms for the first time. And I can't wait to feel that all over again!!
Kimberly: Hang in there. I'm sure everything will be all right. Just try to relax and keep us updated on how you're doing.
Well, took a little more time than I was supposed to. LOL I've got to run for now and get some stuff done. Take Care!!!!

Hi all!
Susan, I am glad you are finally starting to feel better! Boy, that was a long haul for you! What a cool idea about the sonogram picture and talking frame!
Let us know how the u/s goes!
Dawn, It's hard for me to imagine being to the "it's going too fast" frame of mind! I am still in the first trimester and I want things to be happening now! LOL I am hoping to hear the baby's heartbeat at my appt. next week! I will be 11w2d by then.....think I will be able to hear it?
I am back to school now.....spring break was good. The kids have had a chance to get a lot of their energy out and we adults have been able to recharge a bit! I must say, I am ready for summer vacation though! then I can really start working on the baby's room and getting things ready to go!
I bought maternity clothing over the weekend. A K-mart close to us is closing and I found 3 pairs of pants, 2 sundresses and 1 shirt all for $30!!!! It was great! The sundresses will get me through until about 6-7 months I hope. They are not really maternity dresses....just size 1X'ers that will stretch nicely.
Hope everyone is feeling well! Kim, I am praying for you!

Thank you ladies so much for thinking of me. I'm feeling much calmer and much better today. Not nearly as frazzled, I think it just took me a few days to soak everything in. I "know" in my heart that this baby is just fine (and I know what positive thinking can do!).

I, too, cannot believe that some of us are finally reaching the end. My sister keeps asking me if I've packed a bag. I haven't, but I think I will sometime this week. I am 37 weeks on Wednesday. There really isn't much for me to do to get ready for the baby, My melissa is only 17 months old, so I own everything I'll need. I think that is why I don't feel like I'm having this baby any time soon. I really ought to buy some newborn diapers though!

Cecilia: what do you teach? It seems too early for Spring Break. My parents are teachers in the middle school here and everyone has spring break during the week of Easter. That's nice for me, because I'm due the week before, so I hope to have this baby and then have some help from my mom. (After the birth of Melissa I didn't want any help, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be so "selfish" this time around!!!)

Hope everyone is having a nice week. The weather here has been absolutely beautiful and it has definitely lifted my spirits!!

Kim,
Glad you are feeling better and calmer!
I am the In-School Suspension and After School Detention supervisor here at the middle school. I get to deal with the trouble makers and rowdy bunch.
It generally doesn't take me long to guilt them into feeling bad for being rude to their teachers or for disappointing their parents with their behavior! LOL
We generally have our spring break in mid March then get the Friday before
Easter off.
Our school year will end May 22nd. We are in our last 9 weeks for this school year!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!

Hi!
Susan-glad you are feeling better..I have always had nightmares about going into labor while I am sick...yuck!
Cecilia- I always like hitting that second trimester..things calm down and I tend to worry less.
I am now in my third trimester (can't believe it) and definitely starting to feel pregnant. Because of all of the distractions about getting the new house ready the kids and i haven't done school all month...We go throught he summer though and they are ahead anyway..
The floor guys are restoring the floors this week...Marc has finished stretching fence for my horse (the horse is 33 yrs old) and we are going to schedule the carpet and vinyl that we need today or tomorrow. It is still probably another month until we are in there but I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel. WE decided after scrubbing an inch of texture off of the floor in the parlor that we would bite the bullet and have the floors restored except int he upstairs hall, downstairs hall and stairs where there is too much restoration that is needed..maybe someday. SO for those areas we went with a victorian pattern carpet with a burgundy background and cream, pink, lavender, and a couple of greens in the pattern..I think that will be able to stand up to 8 kids, an inlaw, and 2 grandkids..right?
Hope everyone else is well....

Hello Ladies- It has been a nice quiet week here. I now have to sleep on a blow up mattress on the living room floor. We have a wonderful waterbed, but it does not have enough support for me. It makes my lower back pinch and not to mention that I can no longer get out of it. This happened with my last baby too.Oh Well,!!Only about 8 more weeks and then I can move back into my room.
Maryee- Sounds like you are busy. We just carpeted our livingroom. It has hardwood floors, but I just could not stand to look at the mess on them anymore.I was constantly sweeping and mopping it. And it still always looked messy. The rest of the house still has the hardwood, but I sure do love the livingroom now.
Is the lady that asked me about "The woodshed" still posting on here? I get everyone confused,so I'm not sure if she is still on here or not.
Supportinghubby- How are you doing this week?We really don't mind your complaining. It is better to vent here then at home. And we all start to compalin towards the end.

Good Afternoon everyone Its so easy to keep up with the group when i sign in and i get an e-mail everytime someone checks in , but once the new thred starts I have to remeber to get here..lol I know that sounds lazy .

Today has been kinda strange . I slept till 11 am with my son watching tv next to me the whole time . I just could not wake up for some odd reason . BUT i kept having awful dreams . so bad that i don't want to mention them or even think of them . I have not even told hubby cause the min i think of them i almost start to cry . UGGGG prego hormones !

I have been trying to get ahold of my doctor sence monday with no such luck . I am pretty sure I have a UTI but for some reason this nurse will never return my phone calls . So i will ask about it on Friday ! I only had 2 weeks from yesterday till they induce me . But i am so hopping i go befor then . We are only inducing for the grandparents can be here , other then that we would not ! I think the next time we are pregnant we will not induce i want one kid to come on its own with no help. Although with david I got no help he did all the work ...lol (he came early on demand!!!)
I am so glad everyone is doing ok . Everyone sounds so busy !

Jeanie~ thanks for the suggestions on the vitimines. My doc won't let me take anything other then my prenatals , extra calcium supplements and iron pills. I take extra calcium cause i just hate milk and seem to get sick everytime I drink it .

Mayre~ you sound so busy ! I don't think I could do that much while being pregnant having 7 kids and being a grandma to two others. You are super mom !!

cecilia~ Sounds like you have a hard job there. But also sounds like you enjoy it . I hope you can hear that heartbeat when you have your next appoitment .

Kim~ I have been praying for you girl ! I pray everything turns out ok . And don't leave me in the dust. I am due 2 days befor you i have to have miss Emma first .. I have too...lol

Sue~ glad your feeling better !

Well i better get to dinner and then we are going to the park to walk walk walk walk ! Have fun everyone and I will try to come back later this week .

Hi everyone!

I had just about completed a long post and BAM! the power went out. Arrgh!!!

I am excited for all our mom's whose due dates are fast approaching, can't wait to hear your birth stories! And I really would not want you to stop coming here to vent. For one, I like to know what may be in store, and I also don't feel as bad about my own complaining.

Not much to report here... I'm into my 9th week now but I swear I'm already showing. OK, so maybe the 5 extra pounds don't help, but they seem to all have shown up in my belly, and I'm more of a pear shape than an apple. I should probably start exercising. Trouble is that we're not planning on announcing it until Easter. Will have to forgo the clingy tops for more baggy clothes, I guess. Brian (DBH) is now just itching to tell everyone, and it's nice to see him get a little excited!

I'm also having trouble sleeping, which has never happened to me before. I think I'll have to resist napping during the day.

OK, I better hit Submit before something happens to this post too. Take care!

Don't mind me, I'm in a silly mood today!

I'm voting for Sarah first, Vickey next and then me.....
BUT,
I just got back from my 37 week appointment. I feel fine and haven't been having any contractions, but my doctor checked me and said I'm almost dilated to 1! Wow! I was surprised. I wasn't dilated anything the day before I delivered Melissa and I know that some second time mommies can walk around dilated to 2 or 3 or even 4 and not have a baby for days or weeks. But, boy, i better pack a bag! I'm excited now. I go for another ultrasound next Thursday and another appointment, "unless you deliver this weekend" was my doctors comment! The clock is ticking.....
