Pregnancy Thread Sat Feb 22,03

Hello Ladies!
Well I am still making it with no news. Just that they could not see anything again in the ultrasound. I am getting aggravated because I want to workout. My legs and stomach are getting so big. I did some squats, I am pretty sure that wont do anything. Are you gals experiencing the samething. I am getting big thighs and a butt. My eating has been bad, but I am not eating that much at all. I am hardly drinking water I noticed. I use to only just drink water. New symptom this week is I am having a hard time breathing. I feel so over weight. Hope you all are doing good. Bye!

Brandy

I hear you! I have actually lost a couple pounds, and yet I have a seriously "poochy" tummy. I feel bloated & flabby. It won't be so bad when there's actually a REAL preggo tummy there - but this flabbiness is rather depressing.

My first appointment is this Tuesday and I CAN'T WAIT. I want to see/hear that little heartbeat so badly. Then we're going to start spilling the news to our families.

BTW - between B6 & some Unisom, life has become a little more bearable again. I have been able to eat dinner for 3 straight nights now. I still haven't faced breakfast today, but I'm not nearly as gaggy as I was last week. Hopefully this will halt the weight loss.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Lisa
Are you still doing atkins at the same time. I was and then my cravings won my body over. I have no control. It is true about the flabby, it is so awful. I just feel fat. I cant wait until I show up on the ultrasound, then I will feel good. How many weeks are you or months?

bgulas - right now I'm just eating whatever my stomach can handle. I have had serious nausea problems! Blech. Fruit has been the most consistent thing that I have been able to eat. So I don't think I can call that "lo-carbing" - LOL - but at least it's healthy. Basically, meat, cheese, eggs, & anything with wheat *repulse* me right now. I can eat a little bit of fish, hummus, some salad, macademia nuts, and fruit. However, the last two days I have eaten some rice noodles, too.

No sweets, no junk, but not a lot of variety, either. Hopefully this pregnancy will be like my other two, and soon after I hit the 2nd trimester I'll be able to eat normally again. I forgot how hard this first stage is for me!

I'll be 8 weeks since LMP when I see the OB on Tuesday. Just 4 - 6 more weeks of this nausea.....

Brandy: what do you mean by "they could not see anything in the ultrasound"? Do you mean that they couldn't see a heartbeat, or that they couldn't detect a pregnancy? Did you see a fetal sac? Did you have an abdominal u/s or a vaginal u/s? It is not uncommon to be unable to see the heartbeat at such an early gestastational age. Is your doctor concerned that you aren't pregnant or that something is wrong? Please try and be patient. Pregnancy is a very long 9 (really 10) month process. Please don't fret about working out or feeling flabby. Your body is going to go through some serious changes in the coming months and so are your hormones! As long as your doctor doesn't restrict you, you should be able to continue with your workouts, within reason.

If you've been low carbing and now you've splurged a little too much, I'm sure you are retaining more water which always just makes me feel fat. It is very common for anyone who strays from the low carb diet (even when not pregnant.) You need to try and stick with good food choices and drink your water.
