Plus, Christina, don't you usually lose quite a bit after AF has come and gone? Pretty soon, we're going to be the same weight! Then, I'm going to sail right past you, leaving a heavy trail of dust and cookie crumbs as evidence of my ever-increasing girth. I think I really started to pop this week, so I may be posting my first belly pic soon! Here's my cheesecake recipe, that I got from the boards:
1/2 C SF liquid sweetener (I like Tovani's Lemon, DH likes Starbucks' Cinnamon Dolce)
2 blocks cream cheese (lightly softened, then beaten: about 45 seconds in the mike will do it)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Cook at 350 until golden on top, about 20 minutes. Turn off oven. Leave the cakes in but open the oven JUST A CRACK. For the next several hours, slowly open the oven. Tastes best chilled. I like these in muffin cups. They make an excellent breakfast on the go!

Amber: Your workout routine is insane! You're just doing it all, girl! I'm so impressed. My workout routine is that I once again checked out the pregnancy yoga book. Maybe this time I'll actually do it!

Both: I want to hear this conversation from the ML. Now I'm intrigued!

Katy: Thanks for starting the new thread. It's nice to be able to get started on the right day.

Have a great labor day, everyone!
(Weird: As I type this, most of the smilies are paralyzed...)

Good morning! I weighed in at 207.4 so I lost 3.8 this past week! I can't believe how much better I look already, most of my tummy bloat is gone!

Christina~Congrats on your loss! I bookmarked your chart so I can stalk you the next cycle

Nik~That cheesecake sounds awesome, I have about 10 SF syrups so I could really get creative.

Katy: What was your highest PG weight? (I'm sweating. I'm up to almost 20 pounds gained so far, and I'm only halfway there!)
Have you come down below your starting weight yet?

(DH thinks the cinnamon dolce muffins taste like french toast. He loves them! I should make him some this weekend.)

I started the pregnancy at 212 and was 230 (+ or -) at delivery. So I am below pre-pregnancy and have never gone over. My low after delivery was around 5 weeks postpartum at 196.8 before all hell broke loose.

I honestly think that if you are eating when hungry and making wise choices, you will not gain too much weight. I ate horribly while pregnant. I was a regular in fast food drive thrus, drank pop, etc. but I only ate when hungry and for the first time in my life I would stop eating when I was full (even if I still had one more McD's cheeseburger in the bag!).

Do you feel like your pants are getting tighter on your legs? Someone told me once that's how you can gauge if you are gaining weight over what the baby needs, if you clothes start fitting tight other than the belly area.

My temps have been slowly dropping the last couple of mornings, so I knew AF was coming. I am going to take a few months off from temping and "trying" so hard and probably pick it back up in December. If I do get pregnant before then, wonderful... but if I don't, I'm okay with that because I don't really want to give birth in the summer... and I'll also be able to finish grad school without having to pause for baby.

Happy Labor Day ladies!! The scale bounced up for me today and I was perfectly on plan yesterday. I blame the exercise!!

Andrea - Sorry that AF is coming for you. I hope that you stay around and post with us even though you are taking a break from TTC. I'm not trying either so we can hang out together.

Nik - is your doctor concerned about your weight gain? Cause if not, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keeping making the best choices you can make and be happy with them. I can't wait to see belly pictures. You probably look so cute!!!

Christina - hmmm...your temp is dropping. If you start AF then definitely get on that vitamin to see if you can increase your LP. It may be the reason you haven't gotten pregnant in previous cycles. Or it could just be a flukey month so keep charting. I think charting is the best thing to discover these weird things about our cycles. Good job on getting to a new LOW weight this morning!!

As for the cheesecake, I haven't ever made one but I did take the cream cheese muffin recipe and made a faux cheescake with it. I added flavored syrup, poured the mixture into muffin tins that had a bottom layer of crushed nuts and butter (to make a mini crust) and then added a few LC chocolate chips to the tops. It was pretty delish.

Katy - 3.8 in one week is FANTASTIC!! Are you doing induction or doing higher carbs to avoid ketosis? Cause if you're not even doing induction and saw those results then it's even crazier! Good work!!

OK, joke's not funny. It can't be September already!

Katy - thanks for getting us started with the new thread. GREAT JOB on your loss! 3.8 lbs in a week is amazing! Glad you're feeling better, too, that's always a bonus Just glancing at the table of contents (cause I'm not gonna be the one that gives you an off plan recipe with you doing so well that is, until you tell me you're ready for a break (<----pusher ), we've got a co**** [ETA- it edited coconut for some reason, must have misspelled? ] creamsicle, pina colada, "ultra low carb pina colada", so we should be able to find you something in here I guess the next question is when are we having our GHFB virtual cocktail party?

Christina - a new low! KUTGW! Nothing like a new scale number to reinforce that motivation Don't worry too much about the time that DH is home and you're off plan, sometimes that's a good jump start to your metabolism as long as you don't let it send ya way crazy. the witch leaves you be for at least a few more days.

Nik - Great recipe! I'm going to have to try that one next time. Let us know how yoga goes!

Andrea - sorry about AF I'm with Amber on this one, there are several of us that are not trying right now for several reasons. I'm trying to really use the time to focus on my health. Hope you'll hang with us!

Amber - with working out like that, I can assure you that any gain is from the exercise. The way I understand it (and console myself when it happens ) anytime your muscles are sore they are repairing and rebuilding which causes them to hold water. KUTGW and you'll be rewarded with a whoosh in no time! The party was a little too fun, IYKWIM Let's just say I spent all day yesterday guzzling water

Yesterday's Info:
B: cheesecake
L: turkey and colby jack on double fiber bread
S: hot dog at the game (only the dog, tossed the bun )
D: ceasar side salad w/ no dressing and chipotle BBQ wings at my friend's restaurant. Big victory - After about 5 wings (of a 12 wing portion) I was feeling full, so I stopped eating them, even tho they were delicious. Imagine that, I knew when I was full and then I stopped

Activity: prob about a mile total walk to and from the stadium and lots of jumping up and down and cheering during the game (oh yeah, we whooped up on some cardinals. I UK football!) So no official exercise but plenty of activity, so I'm claiming it

It was so nice to sleep in this morning! Hope everyone's having a nice holiday. I'm gonna go do my yoga. BBL!

Nik - I usually have a decent loss after AF. haha hopefully soon I'll have to turn around and chase after you Eat some cookies for me while your at it Can't wait to see Belly pics!!

Katy - Great Job on the loss! Are you doing induction levels? If not maybe you won't even need to (that's be nice huh) stalker haha

Andrea - Sorry to hear about AF. plus you're definitly right about being in the last months of you pregnancy and giving birth in the summer not fun...

Amber - I didn't even realize it was labor day . I'm definitly goign to keep charting. I feel like I'm actually starting to understand my body.

Kat - I can't believe it's september either. Christmas is fast approaching!! I gotta go Christmas shopping by myself, wrap presents, and figure out what to mail in DH's christmas care package OOhhh a GHFB virtual cocktail party!! What's the minimum drinking age?? good job tossing the bun.

My Menu:
B: eggs, bacon, coffee
L: meat cauli pizza
S: SF Jello
D: chicken salad and cauli w/ butter

exercise: laundry (3x 3 flights of stairs)
water 3 liters

Christina... I'd love to not be pregnant at all during the summer! Not only that, but as a teacher, I think it would be difficult to have a baby in June or July, then request weeks off at the beginning of the school year when things are most hectic. And I definitely want more than a few weeks at home with my newborn. I can take 12 weeks of sick leave for maternity leave purposes. And, since I have 18 weeks of sick leave saved up, I will get paid for all 12 weeks. Ideally, I would want to have my baby at the very end of February or beginning of March, then take the last 12 weeks off from school and also have the summer. But, beggars can't be choosers, right?

I didn't lose any weight this past week. I actually am up to 258, but that was from before I started the Biggest Loser Diet. I maintained all this past week. It is TOM, so that could be to blame because I have never lost anything during TOM. But, I weighed yesterday with my trainer's scale that reads body fat percentage, and it said I'm down to 45% body fat... last time I checked it about 4-5 months ago I was at 49%. So that's progress! My husband, OF COURSE, lost 5 pounds this past week. Men!! I am not going to abandon this diet... but I am definitely going to be sure that I'm sticking to exactly what the book recommends. I've also thought about joining the Biggest Loser Club website for recipes and meal plans... but I think it's about $20 a month and I don't want to pay that.

Hey ladies. I'm running around today do errands and cleaning the house. Not much exciting going on. Just glad that I'm not at work!!

Andrea - it sounds like you definitely need to give the diet another week before you can say if it worked since you said you never lose weight on AF. Good job though on dropping 4% BF!! That's pretty significant.

Kat - guzzle that water girlie!! haha...it's pretty funny that you got edited. Dirty mouth!! Yeah, I think it's water retention in my achy body. It's not real weight gain as I've been good so I'm hoping it drops back off by tomorrow for my WI. Grr....

Christina - I'm down for a virtual cocktail party too. Seems like we should definitely have one every time AF arrives for one of us if not more often!

Okay, back to do laundrey and find DH to go run some more errands. He tends to dissappear. BBL

I got great news today. DH will be home a day earlier and I was asked to buy and bring soda for the meeting. Now all I have to do is resist the desserts others made. I think that will be a lot easier than baking and resisting but know DH will be home only 48 hours later leaves no time for cheating and recouperating! The cookie dough is in the freezer (for a weaker time) I'm off to bed. Have a nice night Ladies!

Hey everyone. I'm new here and I'm also TTC. Well sort of. I've been trying for about 6 years. I have PCOS. We are not really trying right now because my husband is taking HCG shots. But we will probably start in another month or so. I have no kids yet but I hope that changes soon.

G'night Christina. Glad DH will be home soon!

I just had the weirdest out-to-dinner experience ever. Abridged version: Two loud talkers behind me were going on and on about crazy philosophies and social problems, sounding really pompous, like out-of-touch sociology professors or something. They were taking themselves WAY too seriously, and I almost cracked up as I was eavesdropping. (I almost couldn't help it; they were so loud. I just made a conscious decision not to try to fight with them in order to have my own conversation with my family.) Then, when they got up to leave, I was SURPRISED to see that the woman looked like a grunger in a dirty ponytail and rock t-shirt. The guy had the most amazing fusion of a mullet/mohawk that I could ever have imagined. MY eyes got really big, and DH started CRACKING up from the expression of surprise on my face. The whole time, DS thought we were laughing at his lame 9yo joke that he had been telling the whole time I was listening to the other couple, so the three of us were cracking up, laughing, and ignoring the waitress when she came by because we could not breathe!

Andrea: DUDE! First, I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed getting pregnant at the end of May. I felt terrible the first two months, and teaching would NOT have been pleasant. Now that I'm back in the classroom, I feel great! Your ideal timing also sounds good. You'd be back to work while still feeling a little puny, but only for a few weeks. Second, you must get a TON of sick days per year! I thought we'd been teaching about the same time (this is my seventh year), and I only have 30 days saved up! Finally, is your maternity leave language in your contract? If so, I'd LOVE to see it. (I'm on the negotiating team for my corp.) The woman who amounts to our HR secretary DOES NOT like to allow teachers their sick days, and has been hassling women about using sick days for maternity leave. In her words, "You can't use sick days to stay home with your baby, because you aren't sick." Luckily, most of us can get a note from the doctor prohibiting us from working for a few weeks. However, there are those who are adopting or who want to take paternity leave, and they can't get doctor's slips. Your comment about hubby's weight loss reminded me of those SlimQuick commercials. If you haven't seen one, I'll recount it in a less lengthy post; they're hilarious!

Katy: Thanks for the advice on weight gain. Yes, it's all in my belly. I'm wearing the same jeans that I was wearing before I got pregnant, but I can no longer button them. If I have time tonight, I plan to sew a panel in front so that I can wear them for the rest of the pregnancy. I do think my chest (not just the girls) and my back are filling up, though. I only eat when I'm hungry, but I'm hungry almost all the time! I have the most amazing appetite ever!!! (There's no smilie for a rabid animal, so use your imagination here.)

Nik: I think we earn 1.5 sick days per month. This is my ninth year and I have only used maybe 4 or 5 of my days. So, right now I have 90 days saved up. I'm not sure exactly what the maternity leave guidelines are for my county... I just know that I can take up to 12 weeks of leave. If a woman has the sick time, she gets paid... if not, they will dock pay... or if you have short term disability insurance, it will kick in once the sick days are gone.

I have seen those Slimquick commercials... that's exactly what it's like with me and my husband!

Christina - Woot, cocktail party Heck, yer in Germany, the drinking age is birth over there, right? Great news about DH and on resisting the cookie dough You'll need all your energy for the BD sessions you'll be having, so you don't wanna have to be re-inducting, right

Andrea - down 4% body fat You're doing great girl. Just toss that scale out the window (and maybe DH, too, if he's gonna be such a big "loser" , Men sheesh!)

Amber - I waited all day yesterday for you to show up to do MY errands and laundry and you were a total no-show, what's up with that? Sounds like you did good all weekend, so I'm hoping the scale rewards you at your WI. Even if not, you know next week will be a BIG payoff

Marsha - Feel free to jump right in. Sometimes we're a goofy, chatty bunch (well ok, sometimes *I'm* goofy, I won't put that on anyone else ) What does the HCG do for DH? That's a new one to me.

Nik - I love people watching and stories like that are priceless! It's even better that DS got to think he was the funny one Sounds like you had a good weekend Can't wait for belly pics!

Yesterday's Info:
B: (only technically brekkie, cause it wasn't till about 11 ) coffee and cheesecake
L: cheddar brat, rot. chicken in mayo/hot sauce
S: pepperoni
D: cauli/zuc pizza crust w/ bbq and chicken topping

Activity: ~30mins Fit (yoga, strength, balance)

The scale is still not moving, but I'm still talking myself off the ledge about it. I know I'm still making good decisions. I went all weekend with no treats and my activity level has stayed high. I may give myself a future deadline and consider official Induction or something at that point if the scale hasn't moved, but I think I'm going to give it at least another month. This is the most dedicated I've been to my health ever, so I don't wanna jump ship just cause I've stayed at the same weight for a couple weeks. Send me some mental strength vibes

Hope everyone enjoys their short week! Make it a great one

Marsha -

Kat - I don't even know if there is a drinking age I was out with a friend last month and we saw some teenage boys (young like 13-15) WALKING AROUND WITH CASES OF BEER. Everything is so different. Even the laws about drinking. You can be at Oktober fest order a pint of bear and then hop on the train drinking it, walk home drinking it, or even hop in a car (as long as the driver isn't drinking) and drink it on your way home. In fact when we first arrived DH's company sent us on 'a tour' (that was what DH told me so I brought Jonny too). We toured a Brewery. and then they brought us to a bar behind the brewery and opened tap (free unlimited beers) and feed us. And no one even looked at me wierd for having my 2 year old in a BAR with a bunch of Army Guys drinking. They just brought Jonny some pop and were very nice to him. It seemed like it was a normal occasion.

Scale was up 2 lbs for me this morning but I think it's water retention because I put a little too much seasoning salt in my chicken salad last night. (alright a lot too much I could hardley eat it) plus I'm super bloated. I'm not worried about it though. I'll get plenty of exercise when DH gets home

B: eggs, bacon
L: jumbo hotdog (no bun)
D: Cauli Pizza, coffee
S: cashews, slim jim, coffee

2 liters water, 1 diet coke
walking to Ledward and back twice.

I'm going to be slightly over on my carbs tonight (I'm already at 15 net because of my pizza) but I'm not going to stress over it.

Hi Ladies! You girls have been busy here! We got home last night around 9:30 and today I'm super tired. On Friday morning I woke up feeling pretty yucky so I went to the doc and I have an ear infection and sinus infection. Needless to say my weekend at the lake wasn't all that great. I was totally medicated the whole weekend! I've been on antibiotics since Friday and I'm still not feeling like myself. Maybe I need a stronger dose? Anyway, my weight went up a little over the weekend because I wasn't really following any WOE. I basically ate comfort foods. I also didn't drink the alcohol so that probably helped level out any weight gain. So this week my goal is to get better and try to get back to my lowest weight again. You girls are all such inspirations and I'll try to get back later for personals!

Kat- DH is on HCG because he has low sperm count. This will be his 6th week taking the shots and we can start trying again after 8 weeks. He has to go back the reproductive endo. this week for blood work to make sure its working and if all goes well I should be back on clomid in a few weeks and we are planning on having and IUI. He has LSC and I have PCOS, if we have one it will be a miracle. Thanks for the welcome.

Christina-thanks for the welcome

wow girls, I'm gone for a weekend and you guys just go chatting crazy!

I can't reply to every one but I know I wanted to say......

Nik- I am up 18.5 from my lowest pre preg weight which was on a wed and I found out the following Tues. I may have been a bit higher than 230 by the time I found out though cause I had a carby weekend before I found out.... I GAINED like crazy during the first trimester... I loved having the first (sick) trimester off work for the summer, it was awesome not to have to worry about going to work! but it also allowed me to sit around and eat ALL DAY LONG! So I gained the most then, since being back at work I haven't gained a bit! I went to the doc on aug 18th and I was 238.5 that morning this morning I was still 238.5! I think the schedule really helps, I only eat when I'm hungry and my portions are controled.

Andrea- that's so funny, you want to have your baby when I will have mine, late feb to early march. I am hoping to stay off till the end of the year and the summer then come back in the fall when my baby is already 5 months old.... my problem is I have only 11 days of sick/vacation time total since I am at a new job, but I have short term disability and I will get 60% of my pay after my sick/vacation time runs out. But we are trusting God to handle it, I know He gave us the baby at the perfect time and He will supply all of our needs!

Well girls I gotta run!

Hugs see you soon!
