Katy:
I was stalking you in the playground, so I heard about the shingles. My mom gets it, and we discussed the dangers of my being exposed during pregnancy. After a little research yesterday (after reading your post), I realized it's not a big deal, since I've had chicken pox. I do know that it gets very, very painful. I wish you the best in dealing with it. How are things going to work out with nursing? Amm: I want the doctor to cut a WIDE incision with my C-section, but I don't think he'll do it. I know about the hanging skin thing. Right now, I have lots of fat there, too. It still hangs like an apron, though.Dessa: Hope hubby feels better. Amber: Eating and resting work well for me. I worked a little around the house today, and though it wasn't much, it really took my energy. Now, I'm tired and ready for bed after being awake only 11 1/2 hours... I'm dreading summer school tomorrow... ![]() Izzy: Glad to see you again! Keep hangin' around; it's good to have you.

Amber: Thanks for the clarification on the luteal phase. I learn something new about TTC every day.
Katy: I'm sorry to hear about the Shingles. My husband had it once and it didn't seem like a fun time for him at all. DH made me smile yesterday... we were spreading mulch in the front yard, and the bags were big 20lb bags. There were still some in the car, and he asked me to bring them to him. So I did, because I can comfortably lift 20lbs. Then he turns to me and says "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you carry those heavy bags in case you're pregnant this month. It was cute. I have a feeling I'm going to be spoiled and pampered when I'm finally pregnant. Which I'm definitely not opposed to. ![]() Last edited by amm : 06-23-2008 at 06:51 AM. |

Hey Everyone!!
Just checking in... Eating has been crazy. We got our house keys today and we officially move in on Wednesday. Our internet will be hooked up no later than the end of next week and our computer should be here tomorrow. I've been walking alot but I still feel like I'm not losing. I'm going on Atkins induction when hubby leaves for training in July. That way I can wipe out all the snacky stuff he keeps around. I'll be in touch when I can. I hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow I'll be 20!! WOOT!! to me!!

Happy Birthday Christina, I hope you're having a wonderful one! Enjoy the 20s, I can't believe I'm 12 years older than you...
Time flys by so fast! Belle, Hi, honey and I'm glad things are progressing the way you hope they would. Just continue to take it one day at a time! Amber, I"m happy for AF 4 you too! Enjoy!Mel, ![]() Amm...your hubby is very sweet, and possibly prophetic? ![]() Nik, GB, Kat, Izzy, and anyone I missed (sorry ) Hi, Ya!!!!!!Went for what was though to be my last ultra sound.....The baby is doing well, actually measured at 4.10 lbs on the u/s instead of 5.10 like doc predicted, which made me happy, thinking he was out of risk for early deliver.....However, NOW my amniotic fluid is running low....Now every Monday I have to go to the hospital for tests. If I it continues to be low, they may have no choice but to deliver him... I tried not to cry, but I couldn't help it. I know he's not too early for the worst scenarios, but the fact of him not possibly getting enough to eat really upset me. So please keep Elijah in your prayers, I know he's in good Hands, and the Lord will sustain him....On the wondeful side, I got a good glimpse of his facial features...he had his eyes wide open (big like his mommy), was yawning and having a little drink.

Dessa - don't worry about it too much. At least you are with a good doctor who spotted a potential issue and is being proactive about protecting your baby boy. Each day he stays put is a blessing and it's definitely not too early now. I think at this stage the babies grow a bunch each day so I'm sure he'll be fine.
![]() Katy - I hope you get better quickly. I'm going to have to google to find out what shingles is though... It definitely doesn't sound fun though. ![]() Christina - oh to be turning 20! Haha...you're so young! Enjoy tomorrow and your experience in Germany. I hope it's a wonderful day!! Mel - yeah for the AC!!! Belle - I'm so happy that you had a good weekend. It sounds like things are slowly getting better. Is he trying to fix things? Amm - awww, your husband sound so sweet. I definitely will be taking full advantage of my pregnant "condition" once it happens. Nik - I know you were being goofy, but will you need a c-section? If so, I'd definitely be trying to talk my doctor into doing little tuck! Do you think this will be the last baby or do you want more? I already told DH that after kids and losing all my weight, I'm getting surgery. Even if I'm blessed with no saggy skin, I'm already seeing saggy BBs and that's not cute. I'll just have my doctor knock me out and then fix me up! haha ![]() Okay, I'm tired and too busy. I have to run and be productive. I hope you all have a wonderful evening. I WI tomorrow evening and really hope to be down some more. I always get nervous beforehand even though I know I'm doing good and following the plan to a T. Oh, that reminds me - I need to go make my menu. See you all tomorrow. ![]()

Amm: Let's hope hubby's right! The weekend after I got pregnant, I moved a king sized mattress pretty much by myself up our stairs. Hubby had just had surgery, and little Ben only weighs 70 pounds, so it was mostly me. I think the 20 LB bags of dirt will be fine, especially with as fit as you are. However, I would not tell DH that...
![]() Stinky: I'm glad you spent some time with DH. At least you're eating deliberately. It helps when you know what's going on and when you're making a choice. That makes it easier to make a better choice when your circumstances change. Mel: Congrats on the AC. It's always nice when things work out, isn't it? Amber: Good luck on tomorrow's WI. I can't wait to see your progress. Yes, I will have a c-section. I'm not interested in a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), since I had one with Ben. I used to be so opposed to cosmetic surgery until I lost this much weight. In 50 more pounds, I think I'll be knocking down the doctor's door! **Speaking of losing this much weight, I just realized that my "before" picture was taken about a year ago. It seems like such a short time for such a long journey.** Christina: Happy birthday, baby! I can't wait until next week when we can see you more often. Keep your head up as you prepare for a solid induction when DH leaves. At least it will give you something to focus on in his absence... Dessa: Elijah is going to be beautifully healthy, as he already is. I've actually heard of some women having their amniotic fluid supplemented. Did your doctor mention this intervention, or is it only used for pregnancies that are much earlier? I'm sure that at this point, it will be exciting to hold your little guy as soon as possible. We'll just agree that he will be big, strong, and healthy when that happens! Me, one year ago. Then again after a loss of 30 pounds: ![]() Last edited by Nik : 06-23-2008 at 05:38 PM. |

Recently: 14 pant, lg men's, XL women's shirts Now: elastic ![]() After the baby, I'm going to try to make it the rest of the way to 150 before I get pregnant again. After seeing what a difference this has made, I can't wait to see what size I'm wearing at 150! Then, after my tummy tuck... ![]() |

bbt question
Alright girls, I have a bbt/charting question...
I woke up this morning around 5:45 and reached for my thermometer. The temperature read 96.8 which bothered me because I have been staying at or above 97.3 for the last 6 mornings. So then I thought that maybe it was lower because I was probably breathing through my mouth while I was asleep. So I laid there in bed with my mouth closed for about 2-3 minutes and took it again... that time it was 97.3. Which temp do I use? I'm guessing the lower one, but I'm not sure because the two readings were no more than 3 minutes apart without me moving or getting up out of bed. What do you think? |

Mel - it doesn't sound like you did too bad really. It could have been way worse!
Amm - Okay, I'm going to give you the answer you don't like, but it's that you should use the first temp. But really, it doesn't matter much. Just look for a trend in temps. I went back and looked at your chart and it looks fantastic. You are 7DPO, so the dip might even be good (i.e. implantation). If your temps all start crashing or do something weird then it could indicate something. But right now, it doesn't matter when you have a temp extra high or extra low. Maybe try to close your mouth and wait 1 minute before temping from here on out to try to regulate it. Okay, so JC was tonight. I'm down 2 more. So it's a total of 16.2 in 5 weeks now. I'm so close to 20 gone with JC that I'm getting excited. I still really like all of the food. Some things are better than others but overall, I'm really happy with this plan. DH pissed me off tonight and said that I'm on such a roll that maybe we should focus on WL and not TTC. I told him that I've been doing the WL thing for my whole life and it may not ever happen. He quickly changed his mind to TTC and said that he's just so happy that it's working and didn't want to deter me. Uhmm.....men! grrrrr..... Alright ladies, I'm off to study. I hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday. |

Amber: So, I should wake up, keep my mouth closed, then take temp after being awake for a minute? I guess the most important thing is to take it before getting out of bed? I just don't understand why I would have two different temps just a few minutes apart? This whole temping thing can be really confusing.
Two teachers from my kindergarten team are finishing up their masters program, and they are in my 10:30 class. We have some bad history so I guess you could say that we don't really get along. One of them is pregnant and due in September. I just found out that the other one is pregnant and due in January. It's hard to be happy for other pregnant people when I want to be pregnant more than anything in the world. It's funny, though, to think that so far 2 out of 8 teachers on my team are pregnant... another one is actively trying this summer, another one is trying to convince her husband to actively try this summer, and I'm actively trying. We could go back to school in August with 4-5 pregnant teachers on one team. Talk about a moody bunch! Moreso than usual! Everyone will be wondering what's in the water down in kindergarten.Last edited by amm : 06-24-2008 at 05:59 PM. |

Amber: You know husbands say the darndest things.
They try to make you feel better. The harder my hubby tries, the more he tends to tick me off. I'm proud of you, too for your weight loss. You're doing such a great job, and you pregnancy is going to be so much better because of it.Honestly, I've been a bit discouraged lately about weight gain (don't kill me!). But, looking at my pics a year ago, I realize how much I've done for myself and that this baby is not going to get me anywhere close to where I've been. Take stock in your success, because it's still there, waiting for you and encouraging you in continued health. Amm: Isn't it funny how other people think all teachers get along with each other? I got a congratulations email from one of my despised coworkers today. The only thing I could think was, "GROSS!" It's weird to think about our coworkers reproducing, especially when we don't like the grown-up versions. Amber will probably disagree with me, but whenever I had a temp that I didn't like, or felt was too far out of my parameters, I would take two more temps. Then, I would record either the most common temp, or I would average the three. Kinda like adding money, how it never comes out the same, you know? You go with the figure you achieve with most consistency. I do like the idea of an implantation dip, though. GOOD LUCK!In baby news, my nausea has just about stopped, turning into heartburn instead. I also feel the hardening of my uterus. I'm sure it's too early to feel the baby move, but I can feel my uterus tensing in strange, irregular, yet flowing patterns. Next appointment is next Thursday! I can't wait! |

Nik: I only wish I got along with all of my coworkers.
Sometimes there are just those personality types that you can't work well with. There seem to be a bunch of those on my team.I went ahead and recorded the lower temp... Amber seems to know how to work this whole charting thing. This morning I was back up to 97.5 so we'll see. |

Nik- I am praying for you and your baby! That is so exciting!!!!
Well my AF that showed up on Sunday turned out to be very light spotting that went away after sunday and never came back..... then on monday in the car I started to feel nauseous... but you know how you try not to over analyse symptoms when you are TTC cause it just gets too disappointing. I even though about telling you guys yesterday that it was spotting and not AF, but changed my mind cause I didn't want to get anyones hopes up then dissapoint them (mainly myself) Well yesterday after work I took a test and I got a BFP Praise Praise Praise The LORD!!!!!!! I took 2 test just to be sure... they both showed up right away! I wanted to go to the store and buy more tests but hubby said to just believe God and wait till I go to the doctor for the blood test. I am so excited and nervous and shocked and .... I don't know what else! We told the church last night and everyone was screaming and crying and Praising the Lord! He is so good to us and we are so thankful for what He has done in our lives! We are totally overwhelmed by His grace and Love! Thank you guys for always being here for me, it is awesome to have a group of people who understand what we are going through! On to the next part of this journey... staying healthy for baby! |

thanks guys!
Amber- I will never leave you don't worry! Although this is my last day of work for the summer so my posting will be sparse till late aug. BUT I will not be gone forever! I am still getting healthy for baby... although I realised I have no idea how to eat other than low carb... I have been doing it so long that I am at a loss for what else to do! I am adding more fruit and some starches like whole grain bread and crackers, had 1/2 a bagel this morning... but I'm just flying in wind I have no idea what to do! |
