Happy trails! I'm so glad you're "home," and can't wait to hear all the gory details.

Amm:
What are you studying? I'm jealous of your Wii Fit. I feel like I'm going to be 500 pounds by the time this is over. However, I think I'll start walking in my second trimester. I don't want to be a wimp about exercise, but I really, really want to be careful, and I was not following any type of plan before, except mild stretching-really.

So yeah, weigh-in today. Of course I've gained. Tomorrow's my appointment! I can't wait!

Nik, I'm getting my masters degree in early childhood education. It's the same field my bachelors is in.

Whenever I do get pregnant, I plan on exercising throughout my entire pregnancy, if I can. My doctor said that the level of exercise you do pre-pregnancy is usually safe to continue during. And I exercise a lot, so I should be good to go. She also said that as long as I continue to eat healthy and exercise, I should be one of those ladies who barely gains a thing while pregnant. That would be good... I have visions of gaining and hitting 300 pounds again and it really scares me.

God Bless you, Amm. I thank God that my vitals always come back pretty strong at the appts, b/c my energy hit and continues to hit an all town low everyday. I think I really went to the gym once, and the exertion made me sick. I would at least take the stairs or park at the far end of the parking lot for some extra energy. If there's one thing I regret about the pregnancy it's not forcing myself a lot more with the exercise. As long as you have the mindset to be fit going in, you should be alright!

Amm: Good for you. For some reason, I didn't realize/remember what you do for a living. It will take awhile for me to remember all the details, so can you remind me?

As I mentioned, I haven't yet been exercising a bunch, so I don't want to start anything new during pregnancy. We had decided to start a new exercise goal in June, do you remember? I even went in to our library on Friday, May 30 (the day before I took my positive pregnancy test) and got down my Yoga journal. I was going to do Yoga EVERY DAY, even if just a little bit. Well, we all know how that story ended.

I'm going to be HAPPY about my weight gain, and you girls are going to help me! YEAH! I've gained 2.5 pounds in as many weeks! If I keep that rate up, I'll only gain another 35 before the kid pops out! Seriously, though, I'm trying every day to make my diet healthier. Yesterday was not so good.

Today was better:
B: chocolate "milk"
S: raisin bran, almonds, 3 svg pineapple (snack is eaten over the course of about 3 hourse during summer school)
L: salad, hot ham and provolone sandwich
S: five M&M's to stave heartburn: DID NOT WORK.

I'm going to try to start posting menus again, and try to substitute healthier foods for my cravings.

Bye Bye for now!

Belle - Your post sounds like you're in better spirits today so I hope it's true. :aprayre:

Okay, so I guess I wasn't too clear with my post yesterday. I haven't had anyone notice my WL yet. I just think I'm on the verge! I'm really happy though that I'm finally making some progress on the scale. This weekend we're going to visit friends in Miami and I'm not taking JC food. I'm just going to make good choices and see how that works out.

Nik - 2.5 is good. I would think you'd have some gain just from regaining a bit of water. I'm sure it will slow down once you get further into the pregnancy. And worse case scenario, you gain 35 more pounds. You'll still end up under 250 and will loose most of it once your sweet baby is here. Here are a few more girl names: Amelia, Lissette, Chloe

Mel - woo hoo!! You're so close to hitting the 220s. That's so fantastic!

Amm - Yeah! I'm glad you got the fit. We'll have to all report our progress to each other. Have you played it today? I'm curious to see what your favorites are too.

Kat - oooh, you brave girl for doing that camp! I guess it will be good practice and help build your patience. I hope things slow down for you soon.

Well girls, I'm off to watch "So You Think You Can Dance". It's one of my favorite shows. I'll see you all tomorrow. Oh, and can anyone find AF for me? I really want her to show up and get this cycle over with.... grr....

Hiya Amber

I am in good spirits today...just trying to get thru each day without having a meltdown! haha

So...AF is MIA, huh? When are you due for her dreaded visit??

Have fun in Miami! I am sure you will be fine...

We are having cookouts this weekend so I may fall off the wagon for a couple glasses of wine etc..but I know that come Monday, I will be back on plan! I am determined to succeed in this journey.. I actually was looking at a diet in First For Women- something that included yogurt, berries, proteins..I need to read it a bit more. Might give it a whirl..maybe but probably not...you know how I get! Always come running back to LC!

yeah, Amber, I knew you were waiting till this cycle....had you and dh skipped on the bd'ing? Or is AF a slow poke tease? ugh......

Well, I got put on iron supplements....at the home stretch now my iron is low...the big red pills are awful, but not as hard to take as I thought...but I do feel nausea and the other symptoms fairly regularly. I'm like c'mon, MS at 8 months? So far no barf (tmi, sorry). Didn't take the maternity pic yet, plan on it this weekend. I wanted to suprise DH and get a father son pic with Isaiah, they don't have a photo'd pic together and he's 3 now, and then a maternity one. When the baby's here, we'll all take a family pic...I don't want a family pic and leave Isaiah out, b/c he's my son, I just didn't give birth to him. I'm a step child myself, and love my stepdad to death, and I wouldn't want Isaiah to feel left out of our lives. He's up and down with the pregnancy. He'll touch my belly and say "Elijah" but refuses to acknowledge him as the "baby". I was watching a Baby Story, and he came in and the lady was on her back with the big belly and the baby came out, he just looked at me for the longest time in awe, as if I was going to push him out right then and there.

OH DESSA! Isaiah is at the cutest stage. I just love toddlers. They're a handful, but OH SO rewarding!

Here's an update on my diet today: After the failed attempt with the chocolates, I ate two Tums on the way home from my mother's. I didn't want to eat, but finally had one piece of "double fiber" whole wheat bread with pb&j. It went down pretty well, and the bread seemed to absorb the excess acid for awhile. Then, I needed to take two more Tums about an hour later. An hour and a half after that, I had another half sandwich. When that seemed to leave the system, more acid seemed to take its place, so I had a half glass of chocolate "milk." (I make my milk with unsweetened almond milk and full sugar Ovaltine, because it has vitamins! Sometimes I add a few ounces of cream for richness, but I really don't need it.) I'm taking three Tums and a glass of water up to my nightstand and hope to make it through the night.

In great news, I have my US tomorrow. I'll try to post pics.

Belle: So glad you're in better spirits and trying to take control of things. I hope you find little things to manage to make the whole picture seem doable. We're here to encourage you to meet your goals!

Kat: I think you'll be proud of us: We started planting our yard today. DH bought this kind of grass that's like a hair transplant: you plant little plugs in the lawn and they spread, overtaking everything around them. I'm hoping it actually works, but I'm honestly kinda skeptical.

Amber: You must tell us when you get your first compliment. It will be great!

I'm out of here for now. Thanks ladies, for being a great support in my life!
g'night.

Hi Ladies,

It's so exciting reading all your pregnancy ups and downs. I haven't been posting my menus, so I don't want to bore you all with that. It's just good to know that I have a place to visit and have a HOPE that our day will come soon. In God's timing !

Here goes to another month to get healthier and leaner !

That's a nice pic, GB, that's your goal pic? How long ago was it taken?
Have you guys ever used the My Virtual Model for weight loss, where you made a 3D image that kinda looks like you especially figure wise and track your weight loss, as you lose weight so does the model. It shows your starting weight model, goal model, and the present weight model in between the two. I think it's just myvirtualmodel .com I got it when I was on nutrisystem web site years back.

Dessa:
I tried that at one time, but *I think* it basically makes anyone over 200 pounds look the same. The one I used allowed me to adjust for hip and bust size, but that did not change until I brought my model WAY below 200.

God'sB:
Way to keep your eyes on the prize! I love your goal pic. You are so positive; I love it when you come around. Keep it up!

Everyone: Poof lives! We had our second U/S today. The baby and yolk sac were MUCH bigger than last time, putting me at an estimated 6 weeks, five days along. My due date is now January 31. Best yet, we saw *and heard* a heartbeat! At 124 beats per minute, this is definitely a sticky baby! I was so weepy... at first, DH (who left work early to surprise me at the OB's office) just hugged me sympathetically. Then, he started making fun of me. By the time we were done, he was crying too from laughing so hard. It was a wonderful experience! The U/S tech was so happy for us and congratulatory. We have a print from the U/S, but you can't discern anything. Still, I'll post it as soon as hubby scans it in to the computer. Thanks for all your prayers; I'm sure they're helping!

Menu:
B: chocolate milk
S: raisin bran, peanuts
L: tuna noodle casserole, 1/4 Arby's sandwich
S: potato skins and nachos (just a few from an appetizer platter) and a strawberry lemon ice from Fazoli's
D: I'm going to try to eat something good. Maybe a sweet potato? That's nutritious!

Yay Nikie, show us your baby bean that heartbeat gets more awesome everytime.!!!!!!!! And you may be right about the 200 lbs, b/c I was about 204 when I started, so I don't know for sure, but the loss below 200 was good....

Sweet potatoes are very good I was gorging them for a while there. I love to make wedges and nuke them for about 8 min, then coat them with Pam EVO and dust with a little garlic powder and broil in oven. My husband and I love that treat, the taste combo is awesome. I also like them baked for at least and hour, but it's so hotttttttt.

Hmmm... interesting take on the sweet potato. I may have to try them w/olive oil and garlic. I just nuke mine and slather with sour cream. At first, I thought this sounded GROSS, but after trying it, the cream really brings out the natural sweetness of the potato.

I had some cantaloupe for another snack. I may eat again in about a half hour. I try to eat constantly, always having *something* in my belly.

I have attached the marked photo that shows the embryo's crown-rump length. The little inset is actual size (I think), and the big, fuzzy thing is the magnification. You can see that the baby is only 8 mm in length, so not even a centimeter! How amazing! I've also posted the link to my Pregnancy tracker, which will get more interesting soon, I'm sure.

Hey obraxton,

That's my Goal pic from low carbing last go round. It was taken the year before last.

I've used the virtual model tool and I think it's neat. The model I designed, actually looked like me.
