I'm here for the long haul. I check out the expecting thread, but there's lots more action here. And the action today...

MEL'S PREGNANT!

What a surprise! It is so exciting to read that, knowing how much you really want this. It's wonderful when babies are called into the world to share their lives with loving, caring parents. I'm so happy. When I read your post earlier today, I just couldn't help smiling! YEAH! You know, July 14 is really not that far away, though I'm sure it seems FOREVER from now.

Mel, I would really love to read a reminder of your LC and TTC journey so far. It's always nice to see how far we've come from where we started.

Thanks for giving us all another reason to smile today. CONGRATULATIONS!

Now, if we can just get Amm knocked up... I think her 2WW is worse on me than my own was!

It's just 8dpo for me today... so I have a little ways to go.

It's funny how, when we're TTC, we pay extra close attention to every twinge and cramp... or at least I do! I wonder if any little thing could be possible pregnancy symptoms. It's kind of nerve-wracking sometimes.

Oh, and for the record, my name is Andrea.

It's very possible, if you haven't used any type of b.c., and it could also be hormones regulating....

The reason I'm thinking that I might be is because of the terrible heartburn I've had this week. And I remember that was one of my symptoms last time. Yeah you could be right it could be just a hormonal thing, although I've always been pretty regular even after having baby. I have a 2yr old also and like this time I had TOM right after he was born the following month.

Haven't taken test yet I was going to wait till this month is completely over, next week some time. I think I am about 2 weeks late or so I can't quite remember the exact date that TOM came last month. Did you have heartburn at the begining? I know it usually will come later rather than sooner?

Baby - we can't tell you if you're pregnant. If you had unprotected sex then yes, you very well could be. Take a HPT and you'll find out for sure. Good luck getting the result you hope for.

Christina - I can't wait for you to have the computer up and running again. We miss you! Plus I can't wait to hear all about your tales of excitment so far in Germany.

Mel - we'll miss you while you're away this next month. Check in when you can.

Andrea - I often wonder if my body had the same twinges and things when not TTC as it does now. I'm getting excited for you. Hopefully this is your month.

Can I threadjack?

I just had an argument with my mom. I'm so furious! I don't even want to tell you what happened, because I'm embarrassed. I wanted her help, and she used it as an opportunity to cut me down, as usual. I hate it that whenever I show her a vulnerability, she takes advantage of it. I keep trying to open up to her, to make her feel important in my life and show her that I value her experience and compassion, but I always feel hurt and manipulated. UGH!

Basically, she's a SAHM and does not agree with my lifestyle as a working parent. She thinks that I should be able to do everything that a SAHM can do, and doesn't respect the way I juggle my priorities. We don't discuss this disagreement, and we just accept that we're different. Unfortunately, it rears its ugly head with stupid criticisms-like eating fast food and not cleaning my shower.

I just needed a few minutes to vent. Mom and I had a falling out a few years ago, and since then, I've really tried to be respectful and accepting of her. Days like today make me remember the bad times "before," and it makes me sad and angry. Thanks for listening, girls. I need a hug.

Nik - I'm really sorry sweetie. Keep your chin up and remember that it's not personal. She just handles her anger in a terrible way. Some people get off by knocking others down. You are going to use these experiences and interactions to be the bestest mom.

Hey ladies. I'm having an off day for some reason. I'm stressing out easily, extra snacky, not focused, etc. I really need some R&R. I have court tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm still studying for the second bar exam. I'm also getting ready to list my house for sale (finally) next week. Ugh. Too much on my plate. I pray I get pregnant and can add morning sickness to this list, haha. Sadly the last thing is very true.

I hope everyone is having a good Thursday. Remember tomorrow is Friday so we're almost to the weekend.

Love ya, Nik!
It's hard sometimes having strongly opinionated family members, especially mom. But it'll be alright. She is looking at one perspective, which allbeit is a good one, it's not for everyone or at every time. Just love her and remember that your baby needs a calm body.

Thanks, everyone, for the prayers and sympathy. Sharing my frustrations helps me move forward.

I'm heading out to Chicago tomorrow, so I may be hard to catch this weekend. I'll catch up when I return.

Amber: I, too hope you get morning sickness! It's always nice to have pleasant things on your mind as an incentive for dealing with the mundane chores of life.

So, after only losing 2 pounds in May and nothing so far in June, I've somehow managed to drop 4 pounds this week! And that's after eating a big dark chocolate bar yesterday that my body just absolutely needed to have or it was going to go bonkers.

So, I'm sure I'm going to get some finger wagging... but I'm 10dpo and I broke down and tested this morning. I couldn't wait. It was negative, no surprise there. 10dpo is really early, isn't it? I know I shouldn't be obsessing, but I can't help it.

I had some light cramping for a little bit yesterday... it was faint cramping and it didn't last a whole long time but it got me all worried that TOM is on the way. I also had some CM at my cervix (I check that every day) that was sort of stretchy... not really EWCM, but more like a sticky stretchy... and it was a dark tinge... not red blood but maybe reddish brown. I'm going to drive myself crazy before long.

Just checking in while I still can... My summer school kids are currently taking their essay final tests while grumbling and schooting me dirty looks. HEY! They're getting an entire semester's credit in English for one month of work in the summer, mornings ONLY. They can take an essay test! (They hate me.)

Andrea: You are going to drive ME crazy! I'm so obsessive right now. 10 DPO is really early. It's when I got my BFN with this cycle, because I was looking at my period start date, not my probably ovulation date. I'm just so excited for you. Your weight loss may actually be a symptom, who knows? I know my first symptom was food aversion. For some reason, things just sounded really, really gross. I know you're going to be looking at every little sign, and we're going to be right here with you obsessing. We've got two down, now, with Mel's big announcement. I can't wait for you to be the third!

Girls, I hate to say it, but I'm feeling GREAT today. I've been feeling better and better each day, and frankly, it's scaring me. I'm excited to be hanging out in Chicago this weekend with some friends. That will give me something else to focus on besides the fact that I DON'T feel like crap. I just can't wait until my appointmen ton Thursday to get the all clear.

I hope I can use my friend's computer to check in this weekend. if not, I'll catch you Sunday night or Monday morning. After today, I'm off for the summer!

Nik, thanks for the support.

I don't know if the weight loss is a symptom, but that would be nice. I haven't been eating less, so I don't know. Yesterday I even had that dark chocolate bar... which was some of the best dark chocolate I've ever had. I don't know the brand name but I remember there was a rhino on the wrapper... I got it in the health food section of the grocery store. The last few days I've been eating a whole grain with breakfast and I feel like I've been craving yogurt, so I've eaten some of that every day. You would think with the added carbs from the wheat and the dairy I'd possibly gain... but definitely not lose. I'll accept it, though... and hope that those 4 pounds take some friends with them! 4 more pounds will put me at 150lb lost!

Yeah, 10dpo is pretty early. It's only 4 days, but i know they can go by like an eternity, so you haven't done anything we've haven't already. I was probably 11dpo when I got my bfn.

Andrea - do you normally spot? It sounds like it was light spotting in your CM. I'm going to check out your chart in a minute. I hope you don't mind me chart stalking you. Good job on the 4 pounds lost! That's really great. But it's amazing that you've almost lost 150 pounds!! It's insane! Do you have a reward in mind or anything that you want to do to celebrate the huge milestone??

Nik - have fun in Chicago!!! It's fantastic that you are feeling good today. I'm sure you'll feel like complete poop tomorrow so enjoy the day!

Dessa - any pregnancy updates? Are you ready for the birth now? It's getting so close!

Not much going on with me. CD8 so still about 2 weeks before I even get close to Oing. I'm extra hungry these last few days for some strange reason. I think I'm stress eating. Blah. I'm going to go to sleep early tonight so I can start tomorrow fresh.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Amber, you're so funny! Of course I don't mind if you "stalk" my chart. Your comments help me make sense of it.

I don't normally have spotting... sometimes I may have it the day before AF, but it's always the kind of spotting that let's me know AF is on the way. This time it was mostly CM with some blood tinge. I have had a tiny bit of cramping today. Not much, but enough that makes me worry about AF coming. But, don't many women have early pregnancy symptoms that are just like AF symptoms?

One more question... if I am pregnant, should I be expecting my temps to continue to rise? Or is it just important that they stay above the coverline? If AF comes, I'm definitely going to buy Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

As for hitting 150... I don't really know what I might do for myself. I haven't really rewarded myself at any other big milestones other than just getting some desperately needed new clothes. I do need a pedicure and haven't had one is absolutely forever. Maybe something like that? A pedicure and some other spa services?
