Had my Monday appointment, stress test, etc. I don't have to get the cervical test anymore b/c it's been lookin really good. My amniotic fluid (they call it AF, at the hospital!) is on the "low normal" range, like last week but hasn't gotten any lower. I noticed that I haven't been urinating as much as I used to, which I mentioned, and they think I'm going through some dehydration. About four of the women were rolled out b/c they were experiencing labor d/t dehydration, she warned that this summer is kinda hard on pregnant women. One woman who was sent to the ward appeared to be in early months of pg, so I would pass along that you gals stay hydrated as much as possible. They want me to drink constantly, to never be without water in my hand. I drank a good bit over the weekend, and I still didn't pee all that much.

My Dr told me the same thing, that I had some ketones in my urine which means I am dehydrated. In any other situation, I would be happy to have ketones in my urine! LOL Anyway, they told me to drink a ton too, especially since it is summer. I've been trying, but its hard!

I'll get right on the water; thanks for the advice. And Dessa, I'm so HAPPY all is well with you and Elijah.

Spending the weekend with my friends really helped me to relax and not worry about the pregnancy so much. I am still excited and anxious for my appointment on Thursday, though. I'll give you updates as soon as I know! I wonder if they'll change my due date?

I'm going to ask my Dr. about VBAC on Thursday. I've been thinking about it lately, and I really want to give it some considered thought.

Andrea: You'll be posting here soon enough! Thanks for jumping in.

bummer news: I just checked my appointment card, and I don't go to the doctor until TUESDAY! I don't know why I had it stuck in my head that I was going on Thursday of this week, but I guess it's next Tuesday. By then I'll be further along, so they'll likely hear the heartbeat on the dopplar and I will not get an ultrasound. At least we'll hear the heartbeat!

Did you have one already, Nik? I can't remember. If they didn't see the baby stick the first time, they will give you another one.

Dessa:
Yes, I had an ultrasound already that showed the heartbeat. This time, I'm just getting an external dopplar, unless they cannot detect the heartbeat externally. Next Tuesday, I'll be at 10 weeks, 3 days. They'll surely hear the heartbeat by then.

Oh, yeah. the good thing about my fibroids is that I see my baby almost every month, and three times this past week. But most women only get 2 u/s I believe. 10 weeks, girly, what is your anniversary Day? Mine is on Thursdays, and I gave DH a text message every Thursday since 10 weeks with a reminder. It's amazing that it's 35 weeks this week! And baby is a mini line backer with the kicks, which makes me swoon, b/c I know he's doing his thing in spite of the low fluids, he's sooooo wonderful.....A football player/classically trained pianist/space pioneer/world leader....Elijah's going to take the world over!

Dessa, I'm the same as you. my Dr told me last time that I will be getting A LOT of u/s, so I will have plenty of pictures! I expect to get one at every appointment, since I am considered high risk with the twins.

Nik, I will get to hear the heartbeats on my next appt, too, but its not until the 29th! ARG!

So I think Will and I have got our 2 boy names, if they are both boys. Still working on girl names, though.

Boy names will be: either Ashe William or William Ashe (we are still debating the order) and Cress Ronald or Christian Ronald (Christian is Wills Great Grandpas name, although he was called Cress his whole life, and Ronald is my dads name.) We may change them around a bit but its going to be some combo of those four names, cause personally, I think Ashe Ronald and Cress William sounds better, but we will see.

The only girl name I like is Flannery Margaret(Flannery has been my top girl name for about 10 years now, and Margaret is my grandma's name,) but Will hasnt fully agreed to it yet.

What do you ladies think?

I guess, since I'm 9w 3 days today, that Saturday is my anniversary day. I'll find out more at next Tuesday's appointment, as I'm sure I'll get a better timeline, or at least be reminded of the Dr.'s calculations at that time.

My spotting has completely stopped, and Krysta made me feel better about not feeling as bad with her facts about the placenta reducing m/s symptoms. I'm still really tired, and am currently avoiding going to bed because I'm gassy and have heartburn when I lay down. I really, really want to go to bed, though...

I did OK diet wise today. I had some water, but not enough. I had a HUGE appetite, compared to recent days, but I ate a lot of processed foods. I think my current situation is a result of my cold-meat club sandwich I had for dinner. It's the first cold meat I've had in a month, so it's not a habit. After tonight, I think I'll make it a no-no.

Dessa: It gives me joy to hear you speculate about Elijah's bright future. Isn't it a wonderful time to bring a baby into the world. Not to get too spiritual/political, but I think we're teetering on a great pinnacle of social change right now. We have all the knowledge, compassion, and resources to turn our country and the Earth around into something great, with the help of creative minds like Elijah's and other children. Of course, we could falter in the other direction, but I have fantastic hope that we will do the right thing as a people and create a more harmonious future. Your thoughts about your baby touched that hopeful chord in my soul. Thank you.

Krysta: Again, the pic is AWESOME! You look fantastic, and so proud! (As you should be.) Regarding names: I assume that "Ashe" is pronounced as "Ash," am I right? If so, I like it as a middle name. William Ashe is nice. I prefer Cress to Christian, but I'm not sure if I like it before or after Ronald. I think William goes better with Ashe. The girl's name is great. What happens if you have two girls? You have some really unique names that I've never heard before. You told us that they came from family, but do you know the country origin/meanings of these names (Ashe, Cress, Flannery). I love Margaret, and I'm a big fan of the last names as first names for girls. Flannery sounds like a last name to me.

We're still struggling with names ourselves. I don't know what I'd do if I had to come up with two of each! How stressful! Please tell me you're going to find out the genders of those babies. I really want to know with this one. Again, our name for a boy is Noah Jonathon. I think I'm ready to make that one a keeper. For a girl, we're still stuck. Right now, I'm leaning toward Marilyn, but I'm not entirely sure...

I really like William Ashe...sounds very distinguished. I like Christian Ronald too. Margaret was my dear grandma's name, so I love it with whatever name you use! If I ever have a girl, I will name her Joye Cathie, after DH (Joey) and my mom. Another boy, I don't know, maybe Jacob or Caleb. I have a very southern 19th century name, and didn't like it as a child, so I don't teter too much on the exotic when it comes to naming my children. I use what's worked in the past. I love the name Noah, too NIk, that's not a name I hear a lot for a boy these days, except celebrities, and I think it's one of my favorites. Most girl names that start with "M" I love, Marilyn, Madison, Mackenzie, Morgan, Melanie...I love them all.

Your pic looks so cute, I can't believe you're showing already, but with twins you'll look like me in about 3 months. Keep taking the pics, that's my one regret...I didn't take them b/c I thought I didn't look that good, but now I wish I would have.

Nik, thanks for the words about my baby boy! I'm so glad we live in a place and time where boys and girls can be anything they want to be...One thing I want to do is swimming baby class, I don't know how to swim (coming from the Myrtle Beach area!) and I want both of us to learn together.Piano lessons as he grows up, kids in my church who are very good at instruments usually excel in other things too. My big brother plays a mean trumpet.

Aww...the heartburn, Nik, so sorry. I didn't have it, but I can only imagine the discomfort, especially trying to sleep. Is there anything a pg woman can take for it?
