Hiya Ladies
Dessa- nice to have you back...how did everything go? Mel- nice to see you also!! I am feeling pretty good about the weigh in tomorrow since AF is almost gone and I didn't lose anything last week. I have been eating some different kind of foods so if the scale gets pissy with me, the new foods are gonna go.. Here is my menu for today so far and hoping for: B- 2 cream cheese muffins, cut up strawberries, splash of cream S- iced coffee w/cream, 2 chicken wings L- 2 LC pizza..OMG....yummo! S- iced coffee w/cream D- I am thinking salad and some leftover steak on top. S- not sure...maybe nothing but probably 2 sf chocolates. That seems to be my after dinner treat... Let's see those menus Ladies!!

I just heard from Kat via MySpace, who sends love and hugs to everyone here. She's claiming a busy streak at work. I understand. Sometimes, it's easier just to stay away than to try to get caught up. I can't wait till she gets back here!
Shanidy: Thanks for the boost! We need help staying on course, sometimes. I'm also interested in this Zumba class. WTH? Mel: Thanks for the sympathy. It's hard to adjust to a brand new body. I can just about bet that I'm going to go hog wild school shopping this fall (if I'm not pregnant). I keep hoping someone will nominate me for "What Not to Wear." I used to think that it was a bad deal, getting five grand to throw away your entire wardrobe. That wouldn't go very far at NYC boutiques. However, I now own about $200 worth of clothes, and most of them are unflattering. I would totally go for WNTW!!! Here's my menu for today: B: egg cream w/coconut oil instead of cream S: bacon L: bacon and spinach D: rotisserie chicken and broccoli w/cheese sauce (not MUCH dairy) S: spiced chai tea? I resisted the urge to weigh myself this morning. I'm hoping for a big loss tomorrow!

But I can definitely get it to you if you need it! Dessa-love your signature! hope to get to know you better! Mel-I'm sure you look great! We are always 12 times harder on ourselves than we should be! I am probably not weighing in tomorrow...AF just came and I just don't think it will be good news I will join in next week for sure! |

Just count my weight as the same and I'll post whatever loss I show towards our next goal. Maybe we should aim for 30 pounds next time since 25 was so easy for this group!!!

Morning girls,
I weighed this am and was up 5 lbs from my siggy weight... I have been having some...um, bathroom problems and I think that is where the weight came from. So I'm not discouraged, and I'm not changing my siggy either, no more low carb junk for me and trying to get the other thing straightened out so I should be back on track next week. I am VERY tired today and I gotta get to work so I'll talk to you all later! Hugs girls! Let's see those final losses! |

Hi ladies
I'd like to join your post. Yesteray I just found out I had a 2nd blighted ovum - 1st one was in Nov. I'm 38 - seeing a specialist in 2 weeks to check my eggs and make sure everything is okay. I know that any weight I can lose before I get pregnant again will definitely help me out. I have an egg, dairy and wheat allergy sofor me - meat and veggies. I am also trying to avoid any fake foods and sweeteners. My typical menu b - 3-4 slices nitrate free bacon l - lettuce with cucumber, radish, tomato, grilled chicken or tuna, olive oil and lemon juice s - pork rinds with 1/2 avocado d - meat on the grill, sauteeed zucchini, broccoli or a salad and LOTS of water. When I had the + on my ept I went off plan immediately . Then when I got the bad news yesterday I snapped back to reality - unfortunately that little lapse cost me 1.5 pounds!!! Part of that gain too is I have been using my wii for exercise and Monday night I sprained my hand on the dang thing so i ahven't been able to use it. I walk for 20 minute every day and "wii" for 20 minutes so until my hand heals I'l lfind a substitute. Thanks for listening!

Hey Ladies
I wish I had better to report...only 1 stinkin pound for me. I am pretty annoyed. I am going back to the basics on Monday. No more flax muffins, no more food from the woman I work for. She tells me what the put in the recipes but you never know if the chef is doing something funky!! Back to the basics...back to what I know works. I say Monday because I have some muffins I want to eat up and..please dont shoot me...I am having a "off plan" day for Mother's Day...stupid, I know but it helps me stay on track if I can have these days....So, make sure I am back on track Monday!!! Dont let me hide from you guys!! Cinderella- welcome! It is always nice to have new posters! Sorry about your bad news you totally have the right attitude- back on plan- back to gettin healthy for baby! That is fabulous you use wii for exercise. Now that the weather is finally getting nice out, I would like to get walking more.Mel- funny how sometimes we need to stop being so comfortable and go back the the basics, huh? Maybe we should start a back to the basics challenge as well? I am trying not to be frustrated and I guess my clothes feel looser so I should relax... Amber- you have room in your suitcase for me???? Have fun!! We will miss you!! shanidy- Latin dance aerobic class- wow- that must be fabulous exercise! Nik- hi to Kat from us- tell her we cant wait for her to come back! How was your weigh in? Your menu looks great.. Christina- how ya doin?? Dessa- to you and Eli! give him a belly rub from me ![]() BBL to post my menu and check up on everyone! |

Hi, everyone.
Hope all is well. Since today ends the 2nd trimester, I decided to really concentrate on what I feed Elijah. My cravings period seems to have subsided a little bit. He's doing well, healthy and all, and I really haven't overdone it all that much. But since his buds have gotten used to tastes the past few weeks, I'm going to introduce him to lots of fresh veggies, and whole foods, in the hopes that he'll take a liking to them later. And, of course it's good for him anyway. So I'm going to post my intake here and on the other side for about a week or so to see what I"m doing. The other side is moving out of the way for you girls, if not mistaken I think about 3 babies showed up already. Wow! No pressure, but that's just the natural course of things, babies always coming at their appointed times. Breakfast 1 cup cereal with LF milk Lunch 1 muffin 1 cup fruit 1 large tossed salad with italian dressing and 1/3 cup chopped ham. Too much water to remember! About 72 oz so far.

Belle, it's ok! But I know what you mean about food from others. That was my Achille's heel when I started at this place. It seems the minute you say "Low Carb" to yourself, some one comes in at 9am with a pan full of brownies or some other concoction!
Amber, hope your visit's going well! Mel, that's probably all it is, you'll be back to new soon. You've been doing great! Cinderella, glad to "see" you. This board is the best and very encouraging, so stick around! Hi, Shanidy, thanks! Your town is my first name, how cool is that! Hope AF doesn't stay around too long for ya! Hey, Nik, I would love to go on WNTW too! I would play along just for the spree, but am sure that I need more than a few pointers! LOL! Godsbeloved, I was wondering about you! Good to see you again! Anyone I missed |

Everyone. No time for individuals right now. I am back on plan but I forgot to weigh in this morning. Hopefully I'll remember tomorrow. I've been getting up at 5:45 all week to watch TJ (my husband's SGT's son). He is the cutest little thing with his big blue eyes and flaming red hair! He's almost 1. Hopefully the scale is nice to me tomorrow morning. I haven't weighed since I went off plan. |

Christina- you must be one tired gal- that is nice of you to watch him- He sounds like a cutie!!
Dessa- thank you so much for posting your menu. It would be great if you could keep doing it. If you dont mind me asking (I think you already answered this already) but how much have you gained? I laughed at the whole "other side" comment...for some reason all I could think of was going over to the dark side...which of course would not be the case! ![]() GB- how are you doing? ? My menu was a bit wacky today.. B- spinach quiche S- iced coffee w/cream- only had about half of it..I think my allergies are affecting my taste buds! ![]() L- 3 chicken wings S- iced coffee w/cream- only about half.. flax muffin D- LC pizza, coffee w/cream S- cream cheese muffins, strawberries Re: bad foods for me- I am going to get rid of the flax muffins. I think the cream cheese muffins are safe for me just going to lose the strawberries. I have been lacking in vegetables so I will stock up for my Monday Back to Basics. I think I will measure in the morning so I can see if I lost any inches before I get too annoyed.. Hope everyone is having a good Weds..week is half over! |

Ha, I guess the "other side" does sound a little gloomy, lol!
No, I don't mind sharing again. In the first 6 weeks I blew up about 15 lbs. The doctor attributes it to water and other fluid gain. I was very very thirsty and could never quench, so maybe she's right, but we'll see when he's born. At 217 I kinda started to stabalize, around January. I've gained about 10 lbs since January, so 25 total so far. Which I think is a lot, and I don't feel comfortable in this body. I gained about 2 lbs a month in the second trimester. I know a lot of ladies who only gained about 15 or even loss if overweight. It's not like it's an issue, but a lot of people give themselves a free pass eating while pregnant, and I was going at it there for a while. Dinner was a turkey ham and cheese sandwich on light bread. |

Ladies, ladies, ladies! How are you all?
Amber, we'll miss you while you're in Miami. I've never been there, so it will definitely be interesting to hear of all your adventures. School is coming to an end here, though I'm teaching summer school all through June. It will be a welcomed slow down, though. Today was not a great eating day. Everything was LC, though, which is good, I guess. I think I'm going to have to chill out a little. As long as I stay below 210, I'm not going to worry about the scale so much. Remember the article reposted here: Why the Scales Can Lie. I'm not saying that I'm out of the challenge; I'm saying the challenge is not going to be my primary concern. I will continue to eat in the way that was healthful and satisfying to me. The weight loss, like conception, will come in its own time. The stalls and slowdowns are part of the process. When I think that I've lost over 90 pounds in fewer than 9 months, I am amazed! I can wait for the next 60 to slide off gradually. So yeah, here's the damage: Mel will need to ADD a weight gain of 1.6 pounds to my total, taking my monthly loss down to only 1.2 pounds (if I've done my math correctly). Still, that's an improvement over last month. Today's menu: B: egg cream S: strawberries, swiss cheese, nuts, and dark chocolate (carry in) L: buffalo chicken, sausage, onions, green peppers S: SF chocolate (Chocoperfection-really good!) D: shrimp, broccoli, and salad S: More chocolate (notice a theme? I'll work on it.) lots of water, but not enough for me Tomorrow's menu: B: egg cream S: more egg cream L: salad w/BC dressing S: Flax muffin D: walnut chicken and green beans, or salad |

![]() to anyone I missed accidentally!!!!I have come to the realization that it is very difficult to keep up with everyone when Tucker will hardly let me get on the computer! I am trying my best though! Here is a new pic of him ![]() ![]() I have also come to the realization that if I don't get my eating under control, I am going to end up gaining weight. My stomach is so bloated, I almost look pregnant again. I carry my weight in my upper body so I have been asked if I was pregnant before when I wasn't and that is such a sucky thing to have happen, I don't want it to happen again!!!!! My new plan of attack is this: Breakfast: cottage cheese & fruit Snack: coffee w/ cream Lunch: salad with olive oil & vinegar dressing (may add deli turkey or a turkey sandwich too depending on hunger...I am nursing afterall!) Snack: Unknown, I need to come up with something Dinner: Protein of some sort (we buy 1/2 cow at a time so we have plenty!) and veggies So fairly low carb but I shouldn't be in ketosis. I also need to drink some water, I have been terrible about it lately! My weight for today was 202.6 which is way up from my post pregnancy low of 196.something. My goal was to be 185 for my 30th bday (which is now in 20 days) but I don't think that's attainable unless a bunch of water weight drops off. We'll just see how far I can get and call it good!

morning girls!
Well I think I'm gonna try to step away from the scale for a while. I am just getting so discouraged and I know I am doing the right things and eating the right things so there is NO reason why I should be so upset about what the scale says. But as soon as I see that number go up I feel like my clothes are tighter, and I look fatter, and mo matter hoe much hubby tells me I look great I don't believe him. I hate the psycological games the scale plays with my brain! so when I get home tonight I'm gonna put it away in a closet somewhere, I guess I'm gonna have to back out of the weight loss challenge, cause I just can't stand to look at the numbers right now, or I could weigh once a month just for the end of the challenge. I need some hugs girls!on the brighter side of things... hubby and I bought a new ceiling fan to install in our "upper room" we have praise and worship there once a month and the fan broke last month.... this is Texas we NEED a ceiling fan! So we are gonna do that tonight! And this weekend we're having a BBQ at my parents for mother's day.... my younger sister just had ababy so this year I will be the only one there that's not a mother (yet) But my family is great and they always make sure I don't feel left out, they always talk about how my babies are coming soon etc etc. It will be lots of fun! Menu today B: Bacon and eggs L: chicken breast and broccoli S: peanut butter D: not sure yet..... Have a wonderful day girls!

Hiya Ladies...
My allergies are kicking my butt the past couple days not fun... I dont normally take anything but if this keeps up, I may have to.Menu today: B- 2 cream cheese muffins, last of strawberries, sf honey S- coffee w/cream L- 2 lc pizza S- iced coffee w/cream D- spinach quiche, sour cream on top S- not sure..I am all out of my SF after dinner chocolate...boohoo.. I overdid it with cheese today. LC pizza is gone so that is good. I loved it but I think it is a bit much cheese! Not good with veggies today. Need to go food shopping.. Mel- no worries on the challenge- it was fun but we dont need to keep doing it. Sounds like a couple of us are stressed so let's move onto something else. Maybe each of us can create our own personal challenge? ![]() lots of hugs to you!Po- Tucker just keeps getting cuter every single day! I also need to drink more water.. Dont worry about keeping up with us- you just on in and post away! Dont forget your menu when you can! Dessa- thank you for your update....you are doing great. I am worried about the free for all pass that pregnancy brings. I never really paid attention with my other pregnancies and that is why I am here like this now.. I vow if I get pregnant again, I will eat better!! Amber lil miss bratty in Florida!! to everyone else!!Anyone have big weekend plans? BBL to check in on everyone ![]() |

Stinky:
Do you get the quiche recipes from Linda Sue? I agree that the LC pizza is a bit much. We have it about once a month. Katy: Tucker is getting SO big! It's hard to believe how fast they grow, isn't it? Hang in there; your weight will decrease soon. Christina: It's great to be validated in the battle for self esteem. We should feel better about ourselves as the weight comes off, not worse. I want to enjoy the journey! MEL: It's okay to step away from the scale for awhile. I think a monthly weigh-in would be okay. Did you follow that link in my last post? It's an interesting read. Congrats on your new ceiling fan. Menu: B: egg cream L: chicken ranch cobb salad S: bite of a chocolate chip flax muffin D: yummy Mediterranean walnut chicken and green beans S: TBD The in-laws are coming tomorrow. I'm not even going to pretend to be stressed about cleaning my house. We've been married long enough; they know I'm not a housekeeper. ![]() |

Hey Nik- the quiche is actually already made for me (they are supposed to make it without crust, without sugar) but it makes me nervous not knowing exactly what is in there! Next one I will make myself. I love the spinach in it and I think I will add chopped ham. yummy! I will keep you posted on what recipe I use- Tell me about your chicken salad thingie you got going on for dinner... Good luck with the InLaws!
Off topic but did anyone see the move PS I love you? I am officially in love with Gerard Butler and his fabulous accent! ![]() ![]() Harry Connick Jr was fun to watch as well! Total girlie movie!! |

Hi, all. Couldn't sleep, and forgot to post my not so eventful meal plan. Feet were swelled, so I couldn't go out and get my salad.
Breakfast: cereal Lunch: Turkey sandwich Dinner: Little bit of hamburger helper. Didn't have much of an appetite today. Disappointed about not getting my veggies in. |
