Amber, Katy, Nikie: Stop apologizing. We all love each other.
![]() Stinky: Love to DD! ACL surgery is sooooo common; I'm sure it will go off without a hitch. OTH, ACL surgery is soooo common; why isn't there better prevention! Poor DD! I haven't hit that "don't want to eat stage" since restarting after Easter. ![]() Dessa: I have friends who just finished their adoption home study. I didn't realize you worked in foster placement. You have a tough job! Thanks for doing it. Egg Cream: The basic idea is that you blend raw eggs with cream, sweetener, and coffee to make a breakfast drink. It's supposed to keep you full for a long time, but it doesn't seem to be doing much more than an Atkins shake for me. I guess I'm just HUNGRY!!!!! There are tons of variations on the thread: add protein, coconut oil, veggies, berries, flax, etc. I think the eggs are supposed to make the beverage creamier while using less heavy cream. How I make mine: six ounces cold coffee two eggs ounce of Kahlua flavored SF Davinci's 1 tb. powdered sweetener "Just Like Sugar" 1-2 TB cream Blend in magic bullet; enjoy! It doesn't taste eggy at all. The only thing is, it kinda gives me gas for awhile. It fills me up for about four hours.

I want a magic bullet!!! They are pretty pricey though... I saw the commercial on TV yesterday.
I am happy to report I am DARK on the ketosis stick (gotta get a positive somewhere- hehe)- I knew I was entering the ketosis phase since I couldn't eat yesterday. Hopefully I wont be straving today. Have a wonderful Friday Ladies- |

It is awesome! You can get them at Walgreen's, that's where I found mine. Edited to say that my personal goal is to be 185 by May 26th (my 30th bday! ), that would put my BMI in the "overweight" range instead of the obese, LOL.Last edited by Potaty : 04-11-2008 at 02:43 PM. |

Katy - it's such an interesting sounding goal - to be overweight by the 30th birthday!
Although to all of us, we know what a huge milestone that is! You're not too far away from it!!Nik - Okay, I'll stop apologizing. I'm normally not overly sensitive or apologetic by nature but sometimes things come across weird on these message boards. Do you want us to tell you when we lose weight for the GHB weight loss totals or just wait until next Wed? Christina - do you have any rewards for reaching your mini goals? Belle - yeah for dark ketosis level!! Woo Hoo! Check-in once you get a chance. I'm sure everything went fine and you're home now just exhausted from a day at the hospital. Not much new to report. I had an insanely busy day at work and I'm exhausted with a capital E. Tomorrow we have a friend coming over to move our treadmill out of the bedroom to a spare room (future nursery). I decided I want it in that empty room and I'm going to set up a t.v. and radio and start using it. I never want to with it right next to the bed otherwise and can't when DH is sleeping or whatever. So I'm finally getting rid of the "future nursery" and creating a gym. Maybe it will be good mojo and we'll have to cut the "gym membership" short and create a nursery in a few months! ![]() I'll be around tomorrow. See you girls then!

Amber:
I agree with moving into the nursery. My room is empty right now, and I need to start moving through there, making it a part of the house. I like seeing how much we lose as we go. Everyone can wait till they want, but I'm adding my losses as they come. One pound down! Plus, with Christina's AMAZING 4.6 loss since Wednesday, we're at 5.6 pounds down! I'll just keep it at the end of my messages to remind everyone where we are! Stinky: Congrats on the ketostix. How's DD? KAT: WHERE ARE YOU?????!!!!! I love my magic bullet! I made my egg cream with three eggs today instead of two, and it filled me up for about five hours. I will do it that way from now on. We just bought three dozen eggs from a local hen house. ![]() GHB Board April Loss: 5.6/25 pounds |

Well, Amber was right- I am exhausted with a capital E!! Everything went smoothly. Going to be a long night getting up to give her the meds but that is okay (maybe a bit of baby practice-haha)
Katy- that is a great goal for you- we know you can do it!! Christina- congrats on your WL- fabulous!! Nik- You keep tempting me with the egg cream..I like the fact it fills you up. Amber- that is a great idea to put your treadmill in the nursery. It gives you some private time as well.. Hey- where is everyone's menus???? I had another tough day eating wise and I gave myself a bad headache... B- eggs, ham, ched cheese L- salad from the hospital salad bar. Not sure carbs in the blue cheese dressing.. S- iced coffee/cream D- hamburger S- frozen sf icee pop, 1 pc sf chocolate, mock rootbeer float Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day! G'nite ![]()

Okay, I was just sitting here thinking that I really don't know most of you since I am just now rejoining this thread. I know Kat and Belle's story pretty well, but would the rest of you mind giving me a synopsis of "you?" It would help me know each of you better! Here's mine:
My name is Katy and I have been with my dh for 10 years in a few weeks but we have been married for 4.5 years. We live in the Midwest and I am a licensed esthetician and massage therapist with a college degree I don't use . After a bit of a struggle with ttc, we had our first baby 7 weeks ago. We love to travel and in the summers, we spend the weekends boating usually (who knows about this summer though with these gas prices!). We are not actively ttc but we are not preventing anything either. I am exclusively breastfeeding Tucker so I'm thinking I'll have somewhat of a natural birth control going on there for a while. Plus, my doctor thinks I may need a little help to get pg again. If I'm not pg naturally by next February, I will be enlisting the help of the doctor again. I am pretty much an open book when it comes to most things, and I have a website that details our struggle a little bit more, it is also full of pictures of my pregnancy and Tucker. If you care to view it, click here.

I reached my mini goal today!!!
I weighed in at exactly 245!!My name is Christina. I am 19 years old. I'm a SAHM and an Army Wife. I met DH 3 years ago when I was 16 and 3 months pregnant. The 'sperm donor' and I weren't involved anymore and he's never met Jonathan. We had our son while we were both 17. He's been there for EVERYTHING! He proposed right before leaving for Basic Training. I stopped taking my BC at this time. We got married on Oct 31, 2006. We would like another child but we aren't trying very hard to concieve at this point in time. We're just not preventing.

Christina - Good job!
I'm going to get a huge glass of water now thanks to you! ![]() Katy - I'm 27, have been married over 2 years and with my DH over 8. I'm from the South and am an attorney. I'm not thrilled with the profession and think I might eventually want to do something more creative as I'm naturally very artsy. I have a lot of student loans though so I'll probably stick with this career path and just try a different area of law eventually. We're currently child-less but very badly want to expand our family. We wanted to wait until we were married at least a year before trying and then pushed it off further to get a baby fund started and stopped preventing last summer. Hopefully we'll have a sticky baby soon. Nik - I think Kat is busy for the next few days with work and moving and things. I'm pretty sure she said she'd be MIA. Kat - if you're secretly lurking and not posting then get your booty back here ASAP. ![]() Belle - I'm really glad to hear that everything went well. I'm sure your daughter appreciates having you as her mom! So today is treadmill moving day! I think we may have to remove doors to get this thing moved around but thankfully I think the guys will just want me out of their way to do all the lifting. I'm going to lightly clean up the house and then our friend will be here. Afterwards we'll be going to lunch. On the way back from lunch I'm stopping at the grocery store to get all my LC necessities and then I'm going to start cooking once home. I'm ready to be on board 100% and am going to make my list now. I'll BBL. |

Just a quickie hello to my girls! I hope you're all having a great Saturday! The weather's finally turning around up here in Jersey!
My name is Dessa, I am 31 years old, and have been married to DH Joey 2 years next month. I work for the state as a foster care resource worker, and have spent much of my career in public service. I have a bs and a currently inactive mba. Right now, though, nothing would be sweeter than staying at home, or having my own small catering company with DH. Just a dream now, nothing in the works. I am currently 6 months pg with my first biological child, Elijah. I have a stepson named Isaiah who will be 3 years old. I've had some problems with fibroids for years, (runs in my family, many women have had hysterectomies in their 30s and early 40s) but no real medical intervention. I was TTC for about 9 months b4 pg. LC eating is a way of life for me up until this moment. Starches take quite a toll on me if you know what I mean, and find that my body responds best to LC.

Katy:
I just want to let you know that your blog is beautiful. It made me cry when I read about the cookies. Not in a "sweet tear down the cheek" kinda way, but in a "shaking, ugly face, hope the family doesn't hear" kinda way. I'm under so much stress, and I just couldn't escape the image of telling my loved ones when I become pregnant. Or, the realistic fear that it will never happen for me again. *Please don't feel like I don't appreciate your joy. I'm not bitter, and I've never had this reaction before (even though I'm surrounded by babies). It was just the stress and the sweetness of your story talking. I'm a 28 yo English teacher in Indiana. DH and I have been together for 10 1/2 years, married for 8 1/4 years, have an 8 1/2 yo son. When we decided, after about a year of dating, that we were going to get married one day, we stopped preventing. I had "issues," so we didn't think I would be able to get pregnant. I'm so glad we stopped preventing, because 9 months later, when I turned nineteen, I got pregnant. Here's a clue to my fertility issues: we were college students, living together, and "practicing" several times a DAY. It still took us nine months to get pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant because I had no cycle to speak of. When Ben was about 4, and I had been working for about two years, we decided to start trying again. Fast forward through almost five years of NOTHING: I had tried clomid: nothing. I did not want to take injections, and my doctors would offer no other options. I tried accupressure: nothing. Hormone-enhancing shakes: nothing. It wasn't until I went back to LC that I finally started cycling again. So here we are! I'm down almost 100 pounds, have had three consecutive cycles for the first time in MY LIFE, and am ready to get my own sticky baby. DH and I have decided that if I'm not pregnant by the end of May, I'll ask my gyn about trying clomid again. (I've been off it for over three years). I'll also ask about the HSG that you mentioned, in case it may help me, too. Till then- every month is another opportunity to GET HEALTHIER FOR BABY!!!! Christina: Congrats on the loss! What are we up to now? (Add my one pound to your week's loss; I can't figure it out.) |

It is so great ready everyone's stories again....
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. My weekend has been pretty quiet except for my brother and his family stopping by (duh- not good timing with DD recovering!) and taking care of DD. It was fine though- I am just tired from everything. Good eating day for me so far!! Menu: B- 2 eggs, ham and cheese S- coffee w/cream L- salad with antipasto meats, lettuce, cucumbers italian dressing- one slice of pizza toppings only S- iced coffee w/cream, 1 sf dove chocolate D- LC chili over zucchini strings w/sour cream and ched cheese No idea if I will have a snack or not...could use some ideas on sweet after dinner treats!! |

Hey girls. It is nice hearing everyone's stories again.
Nik - I'm not sure if I knew before, but now I'm nervous typing around you - I'm horrible with spelling and grammar! Just pardon my run on sentences and sentence fragments (is that even what they are called??) and commas in all the wrong places. ![]() Belle - your menu looks great. Not sure if these are things that would satisfy your night time sweet tooth, but what about an iced decalf coffee maybe in a special flavor (like chocolate nut). Or a diet rootbeer "float" with a splash of cream. Or that jello fluff. I think those cream cheese mock danish things are pretty sweet. I've never tried it, but what about chocolate bark. Or just eating a piece or two of really dark (80% cocoa) chocolate or a spoonful of natural p'nut butter. Dessa - are you following a LC plan while pregnant? If you don't mind me asking, how is your weight? Have you gained much? So I'm back from grocery shopping. I'm ready and on board. The treadmill is in the room and ready to be used and the fridge is stocked. It's weird going back to LC after being off of it. At first it seems hard for me to remember what I can eat and think of ideas. I know after a few days I'll be into it and have the routine down but for now it's still weird feeling. I'm really excited and ready though to start dropping some weight and get into a new low. My plan for the beginning part of the week is to have salads for lunch with grilled chicken on top. I have bacon to cook up tomorrow for snacks and to eat with breakfast. I bought deli meat (boars head turkey and chicken), tons of eggs, ingredients for flax muffins, and fajita/taco salad stuff. I bought one of those pre-done veggie trays with ranch - figured it was a slurge so that there would be less prep. I also plan to make a batch of sausage quiche tomorrow to eat for all my breakfasts this week. I'll probably go grocery shopping again midweek to get more things but just wanted to get enough to get started. Okay, I'm off to read and I'll be back later. |

Hey Ladies... I'm still kind of new around here, so here's my little story:
I'm Andrea. I'll be 30 in July. I'm a kindergarten teacher. My husband and I have been together for 10 years in December, married for 7. We do not have any kids. We haven't prevented at all since we've been married. I've talked casually to my doctor about it, and she thinks that I should try losing weight to see what happens before we do anything more invasive. So, I'm down 138 pounds. I've always had pretty regular periods with my cycles being 28-36 days long... but in the last 4 months or so my cycles have been exactly 29 days long each month. So, I think that maybe the weight loss is helping my cycles regulate.
