Quick DB post - what should have been a normal, quiet Friday got a little hectic when DH and I woke up to water in our bed from a leak in the roof (BAD storms here last night). Thank God for the warranty (and several other unexpected blessings, lately - we are truly blessed)
Christina - you're cracking me up - exotic dancer and WTG on the ball gown that's gotta make you feel good and pumped about the work you're doing!Nik - I'm no help on the name front. Those 2 fell in our laps and we can't seem to come up with many other options, so if we have 2 of the same sex we're gonna be in trouble Congrats on all your progress so far. If I get some PC time tomorrow I'll head over to check out your pics, hawt mama!Katy - I guess Scott Shay sounds a little redundant, huh Still, I think Tucker's name is great and seems to suit him. I vote that you made the right choice (for whatever my vote's worth in the naming of your baby )Amm- Love your names! I've always especially liked Lily (Secret Garden was one of my absolute fave books as a kid) Mel - Does it feel like home in the new place, yet? and to everyone!

Okay, I'm back with bad news unfortunately.
I was spotting pretty much before I tested positive and thought that was great news since I never spot. I assumed it was implantation spotting (and maybe it was??). The spotting slowed down and I thought all was great. Monday night the spotting picked back up and was a tiny bit pink so I called the doctor again on Tuesday who said we'd run my numbers just in case. I went in for my quant (??) levels, progesterone, and blood type (to make sure my body wasn't attacking the babies??) and my quant came back at a 12. The nurse said that it could be an early miscarriage or or an early pregnancy and it's too early to tell. Spotting picked up into an extremely light flow by Tuesday night and my doctor said to go to the emergency room if it got to a heavy flow overnight. Wednesday it was a bit heavier and then Thursday I went back for my numbers and was practically at a period level of flow. The doctor was supposed to call back before 2pm on Thursday and when they didn't I called around 4. For some reason the lab was slow w/ my results and they said they'd call today before noon. I was in meetings all day today with a normal AF level flow and they didn't call. I called and was informed that my quant was at a 4.5 and that I may have to go back in for another blood test or two to make sure it gets to a zero. But apparently they said it was definitely a m/c and that my body seems to be taking care of everything (silver lining??) on it's own. I have to go back in 2 weeks for the doctor to check me and make sure everything is fine. He's going to call me next week if they think I need to get another blood test done (hopefully not). I've been crying pretty much all day since Tuesday and am getting back to normal (sort of) today. I couldn't act not pregnant until today so I was following the recommended pregnancy diet, avoiding certain foods, not taking advil, etc. Once I found out I got a starbucks and ate a deli sandwich and took advil for my headache, cramps, and heartache. It's so strange to feel so sad about this but I think it was just such a miracle that it finally happened for us that it added to the letdown when it ended so quickly. I really want you all to know how much I appreciate your support and all the prayers. I really did feel comforted knowing that you all were thinking about me and here to support me. I really appreciate the thoughts and PMs and everything. I love you all so much for everything. Hopefully we'll have some graduates in our group soon - some sticky babies - and hopefully Nik and I can have January '09 babies. Okay, I'm going to post this and then catch up with all the rest of the posts....

Mel & Kat - ooooo, I'm jealous of those big spacious homes! I bet it's fun to get so much more space!
Christina - yep, I get more cravings around ovulation than at AF. I think I use the cramps to be an excuse to be more lethargic around AF and to eat too many sweets, but in reality, I crave them more at O time. Congrats on the ballgown getting loose. I can't wait to see the pictures of you tomorrow! Have fun!!! Oh, and I love your name choices - the girl name is very unique and pretty! Belle - I'm so glad you're back. I miss you like crazy when you're gone (not crazy, crazy, but you know! )Nik - I'm so sorry that AF showed for you. Maybe we'll get lucky and have new year's babies now?? Your post about baby names below was one of the best things I've read lately! I love your sense of humor. And I totally agree on most of the baby names! I also have a hard time with girl names. Do you want another boy or do you hope for a girl? How many children do you ultimately want? Oh, I love Noah Jonathon. Do you watch Scrubs? The main girls name is Eliot, which helped my hubby like that name. You could always do something slightly more "girly" and use Eliot as the nickname. Other suggestions, Morgan, Riley, Kennedy, ...Kat - sorry about the roof - at least you seem to have a good outlook on it. Is your builder going to fix it soon? Amm - I love using family names and love your choices for both girl and boy. I think I'm partial to Elijah and Audrey though (not that you asked). Katy - I really like that you used your 2 favorite boy names for you son. I think his name is beautiful and I'm positive you'll find other boy names you love if you have another son. One of my favorite girl names is Noel. Dessa - I love you son's name!! Congrats on finding out that it's a boy!! How exciting! Do you know how you'll decorate the nursery?? Mel - I love Alexis and Collin. Those are some of my top choices as well. Close friends names their daughter Alexandra and call her Alex so we will probably pass on that name now so it's not too confusing. Kat - I love your choices for names too - but I'm most impressed with your dh's great grandmother. It's wonderful that's she's still here at over 100 and sounds like she's doing well. Have you told her that you want to name your daughter after her? I bet she'll love it! Phew, I think I officially caught up on everything. Sorry if I missed anything. Okay, for our name choices, we're set on our boy name. It will be Dylan Michael - it's a name I've always loved and wanted to use since I can remember and when I met DH he loved it too. Michael is a family name and will be used no matter if we change our mind about Dylan, but we've been sticking firmly to this name now for years so I think it's set. We can't decide on girl names. We've gone through a few options: Alexis, Ella, Madison, ... I also like Olivia, Leah, Morgan, Noel, ... but DH doesn't really like them too much. I had him convinced that if we had a girl in Dec. that we had to use Noel since it was perfect timing but I didn't have to press that issue. So we definitely need help with this as well. Girl names are just tougher I think....Oh, in case it helps anyone, I also like these boy names: Preston, Jackson, and Landon. Okay, I'm going to get off now and end this really long post! I'll post more this weekend. I'm going to get back on some track eating wise starting Sunday. I know I shouldn't use food as an emotional clutch but I've granted myself a chocolate icecream weekend. Thanks again ladies, I really ![]() ![]() you all. |

hey everyone!! just popping in to see how everyone is doing. the ball last night was amazing! we will definitly be attending the next one. the men got a little rowdy. lots of tradition like the engineer grog (a nasty mixture of many types of alcohol). i stuck pretty close by LC in fact the only thing i had that was 'bad' was 3 little pieces of potato. i believe those were burned off during the dancing! hubby was super romantic. and i felt like one hot mama that gown!!
took lots of pictures, will post tomorrow. going to go barbecue and have a few drinks.

Missing you all
What a nice weekend! I'm sure you've all been out enjoying it. I had a pretty crappy day at work on Friday, and I kept coming here to take my mind off of it, but there was nobody home! I hope we'll be talkative again soon. I miss my girls!

Good Morning!
Nik- hope your day today is better than your work day on Friday... You know you can always come here and talk to yourself- we dont mind and eventually someone will answer haha I am having such a hard time restaring induction. Every day I have the best of intentions but I just cant seem to bring it together. Why do you suppose this is happening? Life is beyond stressful for me right now. Maybe I need to spend a day and do some prep work in the kitchen so I have all the foods ready for me. I dunno... ![]() Hope everyone has a good Monday! |

Well Ladies...I am half way thru the day! I think I have gotten thru the worst of it... I cooked up a boatload of bacon, hardboiled some eggs and pulled some meat out of the freezer. I need to order some more vitamins though.
I will post my menu later today. I will jump on the name bandwagon For a boy I Samuel Carter. My maiden name is Carter. For a girl, I wanted to use my Gram's maiden name Morgan but I am leaning as a middle name. Way to many Morgan's around here and I dont really like Morgie as a nickname (hope I dont offend anyone JMHO). I like the name Juliet Morgan.Hope everyone is surviving their Monday! Be back lata.. |

Hey girls. Thanks again for all of your support. DH has been really supportive and we both want to try again right away but are going to wait until I see the doctor in 2 weeks to see if we're allowed. I'm not sure and want to make sure we get the green light.
Belle - you're back to LC? Your menu looks really good and balanced. I love the name Carter by the way. And Morgan! I think Juliet is such a sweet name too and Samuel is very classic. All very good choices. Nik - your new avitar picture looks amazing!! You're so pretty and getting tinier by the second!!! Post away - someone will be around and eventually respond to you! I'm not sure about my eating still. I can't decide between restarting LC, doing WW or Jenny Craig, just counting calories, doing SB, or what.... I'm in a funk eating wise but know I need a formal plan to succeed. Any words of wisdom? K...going to eat dinner - brocolli/cheddar soup. I'll bbl. |

Hiya Amber!! I am back to LC- woohoo! I was having such a hard time this morning but I am feeling better about it. I need to stop being so hard on myself but I also need to stop being a doofus.
My advice about your eating plan...well, coming from experience, while on WW and SB I was starving! I always get in these funks where I need to try something new and I always come running back to LC with my tail between my legs (well, you get the idea). LC is the way for me. There is nothing wrong with trying out another plan- maybe you will enjoy WW or SB...and also it can't hurt you unless you go off plan for a month like me ![]() |

Hiya girls just a drive by,
Amber- Honey I'm so sorry for your pain hugs and more hugs to you! Belle- Welcome back! I chuckled a bit when I thought about the fact that we have been waiting for your return.... then you came back and no one was here everyone else Hi and thank you for the comments about my names, I know they are very Scotish which should make the Scotish/English in laws happy! I like you names too, they are all very cute. My house is starting to feel more like home we have unpacked and "moved in" so as soon as I can find my camera I'll post pics. Got the offcial offer for the job today and gave my notice to my current job! Praise the Lord! I love my current job, but this is the direction mthat God is moving me in and I learned a long time ago not to resist His will for my life! Guess it was a bit more than a drive by I'll talk to you all later!

Hey girls! Belle, love the names. Great choices!
Amber, hope you get the green light. I hope to give it a real go this cycle, so hubby can have his hernia surgery. Re: Weight loss: if LC works for you, why try something else? We waste so much time on diets that DON'T work; finding something that does work is a blessing. What would you all think about setting a group monthly goal, so we could all use our losses to contribute to the whole? (Sorry, Dessa: You can't play. We want to fatten you up with that baby bump! ![]() I propose that between me, Mel, Amber, Christina, and Belle, we can lose 25 pounds by May first. Who's with me? (If you're against me, that's okay. Just don't yell at me like my coworker did last week. That makes me angry, and that's why I had a bad day. It's getting better now...)

Hey Gals- G'mornin!
Nik- I am sooooooo in!! Love setting goals and it is even better to do it as a group. Why did your co worker yell at you? Thats ridiculous. Dessa- silly woman! Don't you love those "brain farts"?? ![]() Mel- not funny...when I need to talk I expect someone to be here...waiting...just to talk to me...ha- kidding! It was pretty ironic! Everything seems to be falling into place for you with the house and the job...congrats! good morning to everyone else! |

morning girls.... I'm in for the weight loss challenge... I love challenges! My weigh in is tomorrow so I'm starting at 237.5 and my loss tomorrow will go towards the group goal....should we (officially) weigh in on the same day every week so it's easier to tally the total losses?
Yeah Nik- I love a good challenge! I got a fridge off craig's list for $80 a nice one too, we were very blessed to get it. When I didn't have a fridge I had to use up all the meat I had stocked up so it wouldn't go bad..... now I'm out of food..... Guess I gotta go shopping! Pregnant sister news: She is at 41 weeks and NOT dilated at all... so if she doesn't go into labor by wed, she is going in wed night for "heroic induction" basically they give her meds to "ripen the cervix" and hope for dilation, then the next morning they start giving her Pitocin, if she dilates after theses things they'll break her water and proceed.... If not (and the baby is still ok) then they send her HOME for a few more days. My God I pray they don't have to send her home again. She is miserable (plus I WANT TO HUG AND KISS MY NIECE ALREADY, seriously doesn't she know people are waiting for her out here!) With my sister's permission I'll post some pics of her once she finally arrives. So if I vanish into thin air for a few days it's probably because I'm hanging out with Sierra Kay (that's her name) Have a great day ladies! oh duh my menu B: omelet with cheese, and mushrooms L: chicken sausage and broccoli S: peanut butter D: same as lunch S: String cheese, I'm not going home till late tonight so I also brought some salt and vinegar pork rinds ( I know some people don't like pork rinds, but if you do and you like salt and vinegar chips.. you have GOT to try these... I found them at HEB the other day and they are GREAT!) hugs ladies! Last edited by amlundie : 04-08-2008 at 06:03 AM. |
