Just popping back in quickly. Soup was good but my medicine isn't strong enough.
I'm going to go and take a nap until my husband gets home with diet sprite and different cold medicine. Belle - sorry that AF is knocking on your door. Maybe we'll all have Valentine's babies together?? Let's hope so!! ![]() |

Shanidy, WELCOME!
How's everyone?! I'm going down south, had some very bad news back at home that I have to be there for and don't want to depress anyone with the details, but I wanted to check in before I go. I think I'll be driving down (NJ at least has the nation's "cheapest" gas, I might have a fit when I have to fill back up), with DH later in the week. The doc says I have to get out every hour and move, and I won't be too long on this trip, just about 2 days. Just an update, Eli is kicking very very very very very very hard. I don't complain, but man can he kick. Glad you're good, and looking forward, Belle, btw. I think a more consistent cycle means you're well on your way. A lot of babies are born around V-day! Where's Kat? Haven't read a post from her in a while...just wondering. Nik, Amber, Mel, Christina, Cinderella, Amm...... HI!

Hey Girls!
After reviewing my menu, I thought it looked like I was getting a LOT of calories. Plus, I ate even more than I listed last night. I was a bit afraid that I'm going overboard with "allowed" items, so today I'm trying to pay close attention to my hunger. Here's the damage: B: 1/2 egg cream (I messed it up to the point that it was inedible.) S: peanuts L: salad w/bacon S: nuts and sunflower seeds (I didn't even eat ONE chocolate out of the bag of trail mix that I was dissecting.) D: pork roast and broccoli w/cheese S: two pieces dark chocolate And that's it. I won't be eating anything else today. BUT- I will be weighing in tomorrow. I'm comparing it to 205.2 pounds from two weeks ago, and I'm going to try to put some positive thinking to work here and call tomorrow's weight at 203.6, so I can have a bit more than 1 1/2 pounds gone in two weeks. I think that's fair. I'll see you all tomorrow, with a great loss! ![]()

Dessa - Sorry to hear about the bad news I hope you have a safe trip. You must be getting very excited about the baby. Amber - I hope you feel better. I think I'm catching the cold DH had last week. Nik - You are so close to Onederland! I can't wait to be that close! Katy - I hope you and Tucker feel better soon! Belle - I'm sure you'll show a good loss next week. What kind of LC yougurt do you eat? I yougurt but I haven't added it into my diet yet. Amm - Your doing SB right? or something similar to it?

No loss for me this morning... well the scale jumped around from 231.5 to 233 everytime I stepped on it.... I had a small snack after church last night and it was pretty late so I think that's whats up... I'm gonna weigh again tomorrow morning and see if I can get a more reliably reading. Until then we'll go with no loss. menu today B: italian sausage L: Hot dogs and veggies w/ ranch S: peanut butter and celery D: ground beef w/ onions and green beans Have a great day girls... let's see those losses!

I'm down 2 today!! Yeah!! I think that pushes us past our goal of 25 pounds for the month. Looks like we're going to achieve this goal and surpass it!!
![]() I'm still incredibly sick. I've heard it's a 48 hour bug but now I'm right at 48 hours and still really sick. I may call the doctor this afternoon if I don't start feeling better soon. I hate being sick. ![]() Dessa - I hope that you have safe travels and that everything is okay. You can always feel free to post about it here - we're all on your side and want to help in any way we can. ![]() Nik - With your menu, I think it always looks really good. I thought it seemed fine calorie-wise since you're below 2000 calories. Maybe try getting closer to 1500 now that you're nearing goal and you have less to lose? I can't wait for you to WI. It's only a few more weeks now (at most) until you're in onderland. Amazing!! Belle - are your temps dropping? How do you know AF is coming? Stay positive!! Mel - for some reason your dinner last night sounds so amazing to me. Mmm....I may need to make it. Sorry about no loss for you today. It sounds like the scale was jumping around a bit so maybe you'll see one tomorrow. I know when I eat late I usually see less of a loss or no loss on the scale. Christina - I hope that you don't get this cold - it's horrible. Amm - menu looks great! I just saw the thread on those wings in the ML and now I want to get them. Yum! Katy - sorry that you and Tucker have been sick too. I'm glad it sounds like you're doing better now. ![]() Okay, I'm off to eat something. I'm thinking coffee and my leftover chicken from last night. We had chicken w/ BBQ sauce (not LC but barely used any) and spinach w/ garlic. It was great and I may eat it for breakfast now. I'll BBL.

Hi Ladies...Happy..umm..what is today? Ah- Weds!
![]() Amber- oh my goodness- you poor girl! What kind of bug is it? Caterpillar? Lady bug? I know, I am being loopy today! I have not been temping this month- needed to take a break from that. Yesterday after BDing, I spotted for a bit which usually happens when AF is getting ready to come. I know I am not out until she is here, but I am pretty sure she is a comin for a visit!Mel- could be the amount of sodium you had yesterday? That happens to me when I am enjoying my sausages..just a thought. I am sure it will whoosh right off you! Christina- I had the Dannon Light and Fit carb and sugar control yogurt. It is 3 carbs for the whole container. I am not normally a yogurt gal but I wasnt very hungry. Nik- it is always good to stop and take a look at what we are eating. I used to do Fitday religiously but I have slacked off. I pretty much know what I can and cant eat. If I get stuck in a stall, I will totally go back to it. You have lost so much that at a certain point, you will need to reduce your calories a little bit. I bet even 100-150 calories would help the scale get moving again! I say you are at 202.4 on the scale tomorrow! Let's see who is right! Po- nice to see you and your cute man! good luck on your weigh in! amm- how do you make your smoothie? Or I should ask, what do you put in it? BBL to post my menu for the day ![]()

The final reading I'm sticking with is 208. That's up 2.8 pounds from two weeks ago. I'm really going to give it a go at eating less. I'm starving right now, so tomorrow I'll eat more than I did today, but I'm still going to wait for hunger before I eat anything. Today's menu:B: 1/2 egg cream S: remaining egg cream, iced L: six pieces ham with about 2 oz cream cheese D: big taco salad w/sour cream and salsa (projected) S: none, if I can help it. If not, a frozen Schwan's pop (4 net carbs and about 80 calories) In other news, things are going to crap at work, and I'm getting happier and happier that I'm not working there next year! ![]() |

Nik- sorry about that darn scale- the nerve! Sometimes it is a good thing because it makes us really look at what we are eating..
Dont worry- you will be great and the scale will start moving again!Menu: B- 2 eggs, ham and cheese S- iced coffee w/cream L- too much buffalo chicken salad S- coffee w/cream, couple just the cheese snacks, couple nuts, 1 sf chocolate D- shrimp scampi with spag. squash (only a little) S- sf chocolate I feel like crap- gee, I wonder why? ![]() when I check my cm it is EWish with mauve colored streaks..kinda cloudy..but that tells me she is a comin...dang it... Hey Ladies!
To answer a few questions... I do follow South Beach pretty much... I don't do everything by the book, though. So I don't know if I can really claim it since I tweak it. ![]() The smoothie I had yesterday is a ready-made one that you can buy at the store where the yogurt is. Dannon Carb Control Yogurt Smoothie. I also sometimes make my own smoothies with strawberries, Hood Calorie Countdown milk, carb control yogurt. Today's menu: B- Protein shake (1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder, Calorie Countdown milk, ice), 2 turkey sausage links L- Salad with grilled chicken, light ranch, SF Jello S- Yogurt smoothie, string cheese S- Later before working out with personal trainer - South Beach high protein cereal bar D- Salad from Barbaritos restaurant - lettuce, black beans, chicken, cucumbers, cheese, pico de gallo, black olives, guacamole. 3 liters water, 30 minutes with personal trainer (he kicked my butt!), 20 minutes cardio

Mel: You wanna give me one more week in denial? I hope to be able to log an additional loss next week. I'm really working on eating only when I'm hungry. My menu for today is pretty much as posted, but I had a few bites for snack:
One bite of tomorrow night's pizza crust One lick of the drips of cream from tomorrow morning's egg cream One big bite of Schwan's low carb chocolate ice cream thing (there are 17 net carbs in a serving, and I had maybe a tenth of a serving, for 2 or 3 carbs) Total, I would say less than 50 calories and fewer than 4 carbs on my evening snacking. Not bad, but the ice cream did leave a bit of a craving in my mouth... more info for tomorrow. I'm going to try to split up my meals and eat smaller portions at a time. I think I've been overstuffing myself. I'm genuinely hungry when I have between meal snacks, but I think I overeat at meals in an effort to get more calories and fat. This gain has made me reconsider my NEED for more calories. ALSO, I have walked a bunch recently, which is new. I did the March of Dimes on Saturday (which turns out to have been 5 miles instead of 3), and then I walked between 2 and 3 miles on Tuesday. I think I may be a bit inflamed and retaining water from the new exercise. Is that possible, or am I making it up? I guess I'm in my 2WW, though BDing was a bit sporadic this time, I didn't temp, and my fertility markers never really showed up. I'll keep you all updated. |

UGH! I said I was only going to weigh on Wednesdays for my sanity, but I just had to check to see if my new method was working. It's not. I'm up .2 pounds from yesterday. Here's today's menu:
B: 1/2 egg cream S: 1/2 egg cream, iced L: taco salad D: green beans and beef roast S: cream cheese "icing" and two 60% cocoa chocolate chips According to FitDay, here are my totals for today: 15% protein, 81% fat, 4% carbs for a grand total of 1894 calories and 19 net carbs. I find it super interesting that I've tried to eat less, but am still equalizing my calories at about the same level I reported earlier. My new plan is to completely get rid of dairy, starting tomorrow. It's going to be difficult, but I think it might make a difference. I'm putting almond milk and coconut oil in my egg cream in the morning instead of heavy cream. If this doesn't work, I will have to seriously look at my caffeine intake. It has risen sharply in the past few weeks with my egg cream habit, and I don't want it to impair my progress. The other thing is that I genuinely wonder whether the exercise has caused inflammation/water retention. To combat that possibility, I'm trying to get plenty of water. I've wondered if I could be preggers, but that seems really, REALLY unlikely to produce such weight gain in the first WEEK! I want to try one thing at a time to see if there's any progress. However, I'm still looking for more ideas. I want to have a new strategy if this dairy thing doesn't pan out. I'll try to stay positive and be patient. It will happen! |

Yes, someone needs to start a May thread PRONTO!!
![]() Nik - okay, it could be tons of things. It could be slight water retention with the added exercise. It could be your body fighting back. It's been so quick and you've lost so much, that maybe your body is at a set point it doesn't want to cross. I'd either keep doing what you're doing for another week to see if it corrects itself and goes back downward or I'd eliminate the chocolate, most of the dairy (including cheese), and see what happens. Dairy is definitely a big staller and dropping that alone would significantly reduce your calorie intake. If you need a snack, try eating a HB egg or a few slices of bacon (2 slices are only like 80 calories). At the beginning you were much more strict with your veggie and dairy intake (weren't you??) so you could try going back to an induction menu (for you) for a few days too to jump start things again. ![]() Hey everyone else. Sorry to be MIA yesterday. It was a crazy busy day. I did well eating wise and feel real happy to be on LC. I'm still a little sick with my bug (maybe it's a worm?? haha Belle) but am definitely in deep ketosis. I could honestly care less about eating right now. But...I'm going to go eat a few slices of deli turkey with a spoon full of salsa and sour cream. I'll see you all later. Have a wonderful Friday! |
