Endometrial polyps

I've recently been diagnosed with an endometrial polyp that was found on ultrasound when looking for the cause of some stomach pain I have been having. My periods have been so much heavier and lately when they come on, I literally lose all energy and could just sleep all day. Anyone else have this?

I just had some endometrial polyps removed yesterday... they did a D & C and a hysteroscopy... My period starting increasing in days a few months ago - I'd be on my period for 2 whole weeks, have one good week, then the next week start the whole PMS thing (tons more intense) then another 2 week period... I had an ultrasound done, bloodwork then a biopsy the week before last - which was when they found the polyps... my doctor feels the polyps are the reason for the increased bleeding - as for the other "hormonal" issues - that remains to be seen. We are going to monitor things for the next month and see how I do.

She did say that this could be the very very beginning of a periomenopausal thing - I turned 40 last fall...

The surgery wasn't bad - they knocked me out and before I knew it, it was over... I was on Percocet all day yesterday, so I slept most of the day... she moved me to Motrin today and I will take that for pain the rest of the way... cramps were worse yesterday - not as bad today... resting all weekend with my heating pad... can't work out for two weeks...

Thank you for your response, Mindy! I hope you're feeling much better by now! I'm sorry I didn't see your response sooner but I just now noticed that you replied! If things get much worse on my end, I may just have to explore surgical options, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't. I hope all of your issues clear up and you're back on your feet by now and if not, soon!!!

I'm doing well - still some minor cramping, but nothing major. I go back for my follow up next Tuesday - I'll let you know what I find out...

I have this problem also. The reason you are feeling so tired and without energy is that you might be anemic and need iron. The heavy bleeding will cause you to get anemic. HTH
