Dessa - glad you're getting sleep again. The lack of sleep has been my biggest issue - I used to be able to sleep through anything, now - nada.
Doing pretty good on this side - have my glucose tolerance test today... *blech* - I'm not looking forward to drinking the equivalent of koolaid and not gagging. Then have my U/S on Friday and they'll gauge the baby for size, development, etc. Less than 3 months to go - hard to imagine. ![]() |

Hi Everyone,
Sick here, ear infections-cough-headache-UTI all together I feel pretty crappy.Sandra, I had my glucose test today too and when measured am measuring around 2 weeks more than what I am. I think he is going to be a biggun. Dessa, I am glad u are sleeping better. I can get to sleep but I wake up at least 3 times during the night to go pee and get something to drink. I'm weird like that I guess. I try to go to sleep lying on my left side but am waking up lately on my back and it hurts my stomach muscles to move out of the position- Anyone else have this issue. DANA- ![]() ![]() She is precious! Congratulations!!!!!!! I'm sure you said but what was her length and weight at birth? She looks so alert! I love the pic.I started on some antibiotics and cough medicine so hopefully I will feel better in the next couple of days. I'm getting to the miserable part now where I feel huge and yucky. Oh to be thin and have the cute little bump. I still have rolls of fat on top of my bump I want to get me one of those shirts that says "I'm Pregnant not just Fat" ![]()

Dana - OMG, what a cutie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! Yes, the one where she is sticking out her tongue....
Shayla - sorry to hear about the infection. On the sleeping - the pragmatic part of me says - get whatever sleep you can, we've been doing this for tens of thousands of years and people didn't always know to sleep on their side. If there was truly a risk, our bodies would know. My 2 cents - and not a medical opinion, but I'm the same way with my one or one and a half glasses of wine - having a baby is a common event. Most people of European descent have had some form of drink for thousands of years and in moderation, it's not bad, in fact, it can be a good thing. The PG thing - I tell ya - twice in past week, I've not had people realize I was PG. Once at the bar last Friday with a slightly drunk work colleague didn't realize and I had on a baggy shirt - and today, when I was doing little burps after the glucose drink and this woman in the waiting room looked over twice - I apologized, explained that I'd taken the glucose drink and was a bit nauseous, etc. - she started talking and it finally got around that I was 6 1/2 mo. PG, she hadn't realized. I honestly don't know how to take those types of comments - ummmm, isn't it obvious? ![]() |

Dana, she 's beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Still without a home computer but wanted to sign onto my dh's laptop to say I am still 1 cm dilated, but have progressed to 75% effaced and he has dropped even further and is between a 0 (engaged) and a -1, so I guess that's a -.5? Hahaha. She is giving me a week to week and a half for her prediction. Hope everyone is doing well! |

She's beautiful Dana, she favors you a lot too.
Everybody thanks for the advice about sleeping. I also see I have a lot to look forward to .... I've always had lower back trouble my spine's a bit curvy. I'm seeing my chiropractor also, hopefully will do some good. I do find myself getting up to the bathroom at least 4 times. I always loved water, but when I drink as much as I'm supposed to it keeps me running constantly. I'm showing now, but not feeling just yet, only 14 weeks, I hear it's coming though. Hopefully on my dr visit on the 19th i can find out the sex. I'll be ecstatic either way.Question about exercise? Do you do it? What type and how often? I have very low energy but I know that I have to get back into a routine. It's been easier said than done though.............

Hi everyone! I'm about 6 weeks along now so I have a long time to go. Since I found out the main lobby and other lc boards have lost the appeal. It is weird going from losing weight to maintaining but here I am. This is my second and I really don't want to gain 70lbs like last time. The situation is exactly the same though. I get down to goal weight and get pregnant. Well, hopefully I can learn from my mistakes. The first weekend before I found out I binged for a couple days. I thought it was TOM. I kicked myself and started eating my maintenance food and things have been good for the past couple days. I have even been to the gym every day that I am able.
I'm continuing to weight everyday and track on fit day. Last time I completely ignored the scale. It's weird but with the second it is not as life altering. It's just business as usually right now. I look forward to getting to know all the preggo mommies in here. obraxton, even at 6 weeks after my workout I am completely spent. If I have time for a nap in the afternoon I take it. I have been doing elliptical for about 30-40 minutes but keeping my heart rate around 140bpm. Also, I do resistance weight training. I don't know if I should be doing the ab machine so I will ask my doc in a couple weeks. I hear that the best thing you can do is walk every day. It keeps you limber and helps with the birth. sbarr, so many people hold their tongue if someone is pregnant so as to not insult them even if it is really obvious. Other people are oblivious. I find that the only time I even notice that people are pregnant is when I am pregnant. Like since I took the test there are preggo people EVERYWHERE! One of the other mom's at my DS's mdo is obviously pregnant and I only noticed a couple days ago. Is there an short cut for pregnant like PG or something. It think I typed that word a hundred times in my post. ![]()

Texoma - WELCOME! PG is pretty common - you could always say "knocked up"
![]() Yes, it's quite a transition from weight loss to pregnant - trust me, it really threw me off, too. I'm pretty much on the scale 1-3 times a week. I'm staying pretty steady at just below a pound a week. I had hoped to keep gain to 25#, but I'm up that now - with another 10 or so weeks to go, but I really hope to stay under #200 and am going to give myself a year after the baby to get back down to 130-135#. Faster would be ideal, but BF (breast feeding) is more important. On the holding tongue - you're probably right. And yes, like getting a car, once you get a car or get pregnant, everyone has the same car or a bulge, although I haven't seen anyone PG with a dark gray Honda Accord. *ha* |

Texoma and congratulations!!!! Not much going on here, tomorrow is my last day of work (woot!). Baby has had cute little hiccups the past couple of days. I think I have almost everything ready for his arrival. Still need to clean the car and install the carseat. I am trying to tie up all loose ends over the weekend and then next week I will be walking my butt off trying to get something started! |

Hi ladies!
Texoma! It's kinda funny, when I was typing my last post the other day I was trying to eat a little something while posting. Well as soon as I finished the sandwich I immediately started vomiting so I ended the post there. I've been sick sick sick. I think I have the flu. I thought pregnant women were supposed to be offered the flu shot but now that I think about it I've never even heard it mentioned at the dr.'s. I've been in bed the last few days and today am up long enough to check emails for work and to pop in here and see how everyone's doing. I'll check in later when I feel better. |

UTI from Hades.... I haven't had one in 15 years. Fortunately, Obgyn appt. today - otherwise, I think I'd die. Today, U/S to see the size of the baby, etc. - hopefully they'll give me the meds for my agony.

Triple (or is that Quadruple) Crown Sweepstakes of Agony
Unreal - everything has gone so well until this week - but, now my body is falling apart. How the heck can one get a yeast infection, urinary tract infection AND excruciating hemhorroids all in a 2 day period.
I'm ready to cry - I've done so well, kept my weight within range, taken my vitamins, tried to get sleep, rubbed my belly, talked to the baby and been truly happy about being pregnant and now I feel like dying. Went to the doctor - U/S was fine, although she's a bit of a porker at 75% percentile weight and spent the whole U/S with her foot in her mouth . I told them about the UTI - they didn't find many white blood cells, found yeast (lovely - a yeast infection), then did a physical and based on sores asked me about HERPES (she asked if either of us got cold sores, so I'm thinking they're wonderng about the lesser strain, not the STD)... I glared at John, and he was like "not me" So, they swabbed and prodded, and I should have test results back Monday if I live until then. And, then, on top of all of that, the introduction of hemhorroids today - feels like the perfect storm. So, now I'm afraid to eat or drink - and of course I do need to drink a lot for the infections (and of course each trip to the bathroom is agony), and the thought of eating almost scares me - so I'm meekly eating plain yogurt with a bit of coconut, flax and hoping it doesn't wreak havoc on my body. So, please - those of you who have had these conditions, what have you done? Last edited by sbarr : 02-09-2008 at 07:47 AM. |

Sandra,
Poor thing! I haven't had the presence of hemmorhoids yet this pregnancy but I did get them last time and the things that helped are: Tucks Medicated Pads- These become your friends-keep them in the fridge then it's even better. Sitz baths. When you have to go and after you come back into conciousness use this lovely spray (almost like a perm bottle) bottle with a mix of warm water and something else? Can't remember-too painful of memories. This helps clean without touching unless ur of the upper class and have your own bidet. My dr. prescribed Proctofoam<--------This stuff is the bomb with helping calm down the inflammation and burning. Avoid sitting on hard surfaces for periods of time. You know the doctor told me to try and push them back in one time with my fingers OUCH WTH? Take a stool softener to help things along. I understand the UTI thing too I keep getting them still on antibiotics for the latest one and when I take antibiotics I always get my yeastie friend. I can only recommend getting OTC monistat the 7 day stuff. I drink lots and lots of cranberry juice (supposed to help). Not pregnant advice unless I was in serious pain and pregnant would be what I've been told and works is to down 2 cold beers back to back and soak in a warm tub to relax your bladder/tract and the beers to help relax and make you pee realllll good. That's all I can offer right now if I think of something else I'll let you know. Baby with foot in her mouth....I know that was too cute!!!!! |

sbarr, I think pregnancy introduces you to hemhorroids but you get to deal with them the rest of you life. If your not doing so already try the cottonelle toilet wipes after #2's. Do not sit of the toilet until it absolutly hits you. Do not read in the bathroom. The postition of sitting on a toilet is awful for them.

Wow, Sandra, sorry you're having such a rough spell! I haven't experienced any of that (not even a yeast infection, lucky me, huh?) so I don't have any advice, just lots of hugs! I hope things get better soon for you!!!!
Momof9~Welcome back! Sorry your troops are sick and I hope you all feel better soon! I finally have my computer back so I will be able to post more often again. I really thought last night was going to be "it." I have had very loose stools (TMI) for the past 2 days and then last night I was contracting (I guess?). They weren't Braxton Hicks because they were painful. I barely slept, I would zone out but know that I was in pain and dream about being in pain. They never regulated enough to time them and never got any stronger, so I guess that's what they call pre labor or false labor. They were gone by this morning but I've been having major BH contractions all day. I have my next appt tomorrow afternoon so I hope they at least helped me progress a bit!

Well I am completely back on bread. It really feels weird but I must admit I enjoy it. I only eat whole wheat bread w/out HFCS. I swear it is in everything!!! Every meal feels like a cheat but I have to get out of that mentality. I'm trying to be more conservative with my fats. I feel that with the added carbs and fruit sugars a normal amount of oil/butter is important.
B:2 eggs 2 toast, milk L: Ham & Cheese sandwich, very small bowl of cereal S:grapes D:1 1/2 cheeseburgers on WW buns 1 kiwi some all bran crackers Prenatals w/ milk What's missing? Vegetables...I know. I bought some low sodium V8 and will try it tomorrow. DH is out of town which means I don't cook. I have been eating without getting too full and I think it is helping the general yuck feel I get from noon to bed time. Can't call it morning sickness. More like indigestion, heartburn and bloating. I don't eat anything after dinner and I wait 2 hours after eating to take a nap. I think its helping. I bought the wrong fabric softner sheets today and no matter where I move them in the house I can still smell them and it makes me sick. It is so gross I can believe anyone buys this smell. 6 weeks & 2 days gone momof9-good to see a fellow first trimester'er on the board! Hope you don't get sick. |

Today's appointment showed some encouraging progress. I know it can still be a while, but I am trying to think positive!
90% effaced, 0 station, 1.5 cm dilated and I've been spotting ever since my appointment. She said I only have a thin ring of my mucuos plug left. The books all act like you are going to have a blob come out, but I never saw it! She is guesstimating him to be in the upper 7s, low 8s at birth. |

Sandra~How are you feeling?
Becky~Have you had your appt. yet? I saw Pups will be with you in the delivery room, what a riot! Is he your focal point? ![]() Texoma~Isn't it ridiculous that HFCS is even in 100% whole wheat bread? Do you think your smelling sensitivity is due to pregnancy or does the stuff just reek? I am now officially miserable. It's funny how things change so fast. Up until Sunday night, I have had an almost picture perfect pregnancy. I would read about people being miserable at the end and be so glad I didn't feel that way....until now. I'm lucky I made it misery free for most of it, but I am at the point where I want him out. Last week I was of the mindset of "whenever he wants to come out is fine with me." NOT ANYMORE. I am really hoping I go before my due date at this point. On a positive note, I got a pedicure today so at least my piggies are pretty. ![]() |
