Another month...maybe the Month of Love will bring us some BFP's! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What do you want for yourself this month? Any personal goals? Changes you would like to make? "she's back..." ladies, I've missed ya'll!I'm back from the brink of and had a weekend trip unexpectedly cancelled, so I get to hang out and catch back up with ya! I'm packing up a storm today, but I'm only making myself do 15 mins of work for every 30 minutes of enjoying my Saturday (I'm getting there, Flylady ).Thanks for getting the new thread started, Belle! My big Feb goal is exercise. In fact, after debating about waiting to start "fresh" on a Monday, I've decided that I'm gonna start today so by Monday - which promises to be a *challenging* day at work - it's already a pattern. How's everyone doing? I haven't had a chance to go back and read the other thread yet ![]()

No worries Kat- nice to have you back!
I am hangin in there- things have been a bit more stressful than I would like but I just get through one day at a time and fix what I am able. Been sticking to LC with no slip ups at all. Only "slip up" is me looking into WW. I am going to stick LC through this coming week and keep doing some research. I might do a cycle of WW and Atkins....that outta really screw me up! haha Off to a fun filled day or driving all over the place for DD and soccer- be back lata ![]()

Hello ladies.
In case you hadn't noticed, I don't get a chance to post here every day. But when I do get a chance, I read up on all the goings-on and cheer our victories and pray for our strife. I was down 2kg this weigh in. I learned long ago that weighing in every day is not something that contributes to my success. I find twice a month is good enough. I get too frustrated by the daily fluctuations, and it's easier to see the downward trend with fewer data points. (Sorry, I'm a geek!) Regardless, I'm down 84 lbs from my highest, and glad to say I haven't gained more than 1kg (2 lbs) since 2006. At least I've quit being a yo-yo! I go in on Thursday for my follow up with the ob/gyn. I know he's going to say Clomid or Metformin or whatever the other OI drugs are. He's eager to get things going, so I am expecting some agressive treatment. I'm on CD 13. Yes we did try again on this cycle (with the okay from the doc), so we're heading into the 2WW. The first thing I'm going to do if (when) we get a BFP is request a referral to a nutritionist who works with women who have gestational diabetes. Since my age and weight put my risk factors up there, I want to make sure that I eat properly and LOW CARB during the whole pregnancy. I will be happy to stay out of ketosis, but I am not going to eat foods that don't contribute positively towards health for both of us. I was reading in another thread about one of our ladies being encouraged to eat graham crackers. Yeah, right. I've also been trying to find any discussion of ketosis in pregnant women that isn't due to diabetic ketoacidosis. I have not been able to find a single paper on it, nor any studies. Everything I've read has been about diabetic women who are out of control, and the results saying that ketosis causes intellectual impairment in their babies. I hate to break it to the scientific community, but my mother had hyperemesis with me and every one of my siblings. She was in ketosis off and on (due to lack of nutrition) for the critcial first eight weeks with me, during organogenesis. And if I'm intellectually impaired, then I'd be aghast at why my actual potential could have been! Anyway, I do not want to risk anything for the bub, so I'll be sure to be OUT of ketosis as soon as I know the good news. I just wish there was more information available. I've spent the morning making up a menu for the week and a grocery list. I must dash off to do the shopping and then spend the afternoon cooking (as it's already Sunday 11am for me). I hope everyone stays on track, well, and positive this month. I'll check in on the coming weekend (if I don't get a chance before) with the news from the doc. Cheers everyone!

RB - Congrats on the WL
Stopping the yo-yo cycle is a big goal of mine, too, so BIG WTG from me I really like the idea of being referred to a GD nutritionist early on. I hadn't though of it before, but that's probably not a bad idea for any LCer, cause that eating is going to be much more on track with our bodies than the traditional shpeal. Also, please do let us know if/what you find on ketosis in PG women. I know that there are - or at least used to be - a couple of women here that strongly believed there was no concern for exactly the reasons you cited; LOTS of women put themselves in ketosis the first tri w/o even realizing it, just cause they can't keep anything down. ![]() Belle - Go Pats! ![]() I'm off to the store to try to get out of there before all the last minute Super Bowl shoppers are frantically taking each other out for the last wings I'll check back in later. to my ladies!ETA: I forgot to let ya know that my lazy heiney got on the t/m yesterday and did 20 mins of intervals! shew, it whooped me, but I feel great about it and plan to do it again today!Last edited by LuckyKitty : 02-03-2008 at 07:05 AM. |

Mmm...I want to go to Belle's for dinner.
We're not big football fans and don't have plans to attend any parties tonight so I doubt we'll do anything special for the game. We may watch it, but no special SB foods. Although I do have to grocery shop today and hadn't even thought of the crowds. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Kat - Congrats on the TM!! 20 minutes is a great start! RB - Good luck in the 2WW! I agree that's a great idea to get to the nutritionist early. Keep us informed of your progress. I'm going to go and make my menu up for the week. I'll be back in a bit to post more.

Kat - yep, I had just as much fun!
It was really crowded and people seemed so stressed out - guess the party planning and thought of cooking all the food was on everyone's minds. I tried to leisurely shop around the perimeter of the store so it really wasn't too bad. I only had to park as far away from the store as possible and say "excuse me" about a million times when my cart hit a thousand other carts trying to navigate through the sea of chips, dips, and wings. Today has been a real light eating day. I haven't been in the mood for much and haven't been too hungry. I'm going to go and make Linda Sue's Enchilada Bake Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes some flax muffins and maybe a cream cheese concoction. Not sure about that last one though. I'll be back later once the stuff is in the oven. Menu: B: hotdog w/ mustard L/D: spinach egg drop soup W: lots |

Hey girls. No one has been around so I figure I'll come and talk to myself. Day has been good. Had a major ketosis induced headache today. I need to remind myself not to eat carbs just to avoid this pain.
Food has been boring and yummy. I've been eating the enchilada bake all day. I know I need variety but it's really good and helping me to stay on track. I will go back to a more varied diet tomorrow....I promise! ![]() I hope you all had a wonderful day today! |

CRAP! Thanks for checking up on me, Stinker! I was lost.
Well, my temps are still low, I'm on cycle day 26, and FF has not detected ovulation. Maybe it's today? Who knows...we'll keep trying! The good thing is that since I started charting, we waited to start BDing, so we're not tired of it yet. Tired, yes-just in general. Who isn't? I can't wait for spring and a dose of sunshine! My menu today: B: 2 EAS shakes (I prefer Atkins) S: nuts L: turkey/cream cheese salad S: Diet Pepsi MAX (with ginseng) D: taco salad made w/spinach leaves Amber: Sometimes it's easier to eat the same thing than to think of all the things you're NOT eating instead. Hang in there.

Belle - Sorry about AF
That's great news about the tests tho, how do they check FSH? KUP when you get results! The cheesecake is nummy. ). And I made a "crust" out of flax meal, wheat germ, splenda, cinnamon and butter I think I'm gonna keep this on hand all the time. It's great for b-fast and for a quick-fix "dessert".Nik - Girl, get your groove on! Sorry no O yet, but have fun with your BDin! I hear ya about spring, altho it's supposed to get to the low 70s here today - no sunshine, tho... booooooETA: mel - I think we're always posting at the same time Good thinking on making the mushrooms, nothing worse than being stuck all night watching everyone else eat crap. How do you make your shrooms?Based on my CF, I'm getting ready to O, so we'll commence the BD-a-thon tonight Wish that counted as my exercise so I wouldn't have to drag my lazy butt onto the t/m ![]() Have a great day, ladies! ![]() Last edited by LuckyKitty : 02-05-2008 at 07:17 AM. |

Kat -
Good job on the exercise! Christina - good job with the menu. It looks so healthy and well balanced! Belle - it looks like you're going to have some valentine's BDing ahead of you! And your menu that you said wasn't good looked really good to me. Are you still thinking of trying WW soon?Mel - you'll probably have great results on the scale tomorrow. I find that when I feel light I'm usually up in weight and when I feel heavy I'm lighter. I guess it's just a cruel trick of the scale. Well, I've be good today. I'm going to start counting my cheese intake starting tomorrow. I think I'm in deep ketosis now and I feel much better. Today has been more of the same - enchilada bake! I'm going to go and eat a different dinner though - probably green beans and a hotdog. I'll be back in a bit. |

Hiya Ladies!
Amber- yeah I guess my menu was okay..I think because I ate at wacky times, it just didn't feel right. I might switch to WW in a bit. No rush really- I have been doing lots of research on it. I think it would be a healthy way to eat while preggo. Funny that everytime I switch, I always end up back on Atkins! That's okay though... It is great when you hit that deep ketosis, huh? Nice job.... Cheese is always a killer for me- I love the stuff! I had a good day- pretty busy and kinda feel yucky but a decent day. I went to work and got to babysit for a bit. Let me tell you- baby (one year old) was the grumpiest baby ever! Finally I plopped her butt in the carriage and outside we went for a walk....in the rain. That quieted her right up ![]() My menu: B- 2 eggs, ham and cheese S- coffee w/cream 1/2 atkins bar L- sliced steak, turkey breakfast sausage and some spponfuls of a sinful sauce- sage and spinach white sauce. I know it was made with a flour rue but I had to taste it (again and again) hopefully I didnt do too much damage! ![]() ![]() S- iced coffee w/cream D- buffalo chicken salad- more spoonfuls of sauce then I dumped it all in the trash! ![]() S- maybe some sf jello I am looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. Of course, Amber jinxed me becuz I am feeling lighter today! Oh- my thyroid and progesterone tests came back within the normal limits. Just waiting on the blood test I did today.. My dinner was really so good. I cut up one hotdog, added 3/4 cup of green beans (1/2 can), and sprinkled about 1oz of mexican cheese blend (cheddar and some other cheese) on top. Microwaved for about 1.5 minutes. Stirred it up and ate. So delicious and easy. Kind of tasted like macaroni and cheese w/ hotdogs (at least I told myself it did!
Belle - no, I jinxed myself, not you. I'll go and knock on tons of wood for you now! Buffalo chicken salad sounds amazing. I always want to eat at your house. ![]() Hope you all have a wonderful night! See you all tomorrow! |
