Pre-natal vitamin question

I'm taking pre-natal vitamins because we are considering having a baby. Not activly trying, but will be making no attempt to prevent. I have a prescription for pre-natals. The directions say not to take with dairy if possible (to help with absorption of... something, maybe iron?).

My problem? I have dairy for breakfast everyday. Either yogurt or cottage cheese. And I have a difficult time remembering to take the vitamin. Everytime I've taken vitamins before, I've had them with breakfast. I try to take them a couple of hours after breakfast, but it's very hit-or-miss if I remember to take it.

Would it be better for me to take it with breakfast even though I eat dairy for breakfast? The alternative seems to be forgetting to take it most days.

I think the best solution would be if I could remember to take it immediately after I get up. I'll try that, but if that doesn't work, would it be okay to take with breakfast?

Take it before you goto bed with a small snack if it upsets your stomach. I always took my prenatal at that time because of my thyroid med. It is also easy to remember if you take it at bedtime.

I just wanted to say thank you for the suggestion! I've been having much more success taking the vitamin late in the evening. I've only forgotten once since you guys made the suggestion. Which is much better than before!

Thanks!!

I was going to suggest the same thing. My doctor told me to take mine at night to help with the vitamin absorption. So you're on the right track!!
