Which BC Pill do you take??

Okay so today I was supposed to have my 2nd Depo shot and I decided against it. I have a hard time losing on it, so once I hit goal I will go back.
I have an appointment on Monday to discuss pills to be put on in the mean time. I just really want to get this weight off without any hinderances.

I have only taken Femcon Fe for 2 months, but my periods continued so doc said it wasn't a high enough dose...so I am clueless right now. That's the only BC pill I have ever tried.

I have heard good things about Yasmin...but I am duhhhh about this whole thing....

If you take BC pills, which one do you take and have you noticed any change in your losses??

Thanks so much!!!

Well, I switched from the pill to the ring right about the time I started Atkins so I can't say that I noticed a change in my loss, but the ring is freaking awesome! You don't have to remember to take it every day, you just put it in and leave it for three weeks.

Im on Yaz and it has really slowed my weight loss. I am not on it for birth control however, just until DH comes home from Iraq, so I can't help you in that area.

I was on Seasonale (4 periods/year), and it was great. I had to get because of migraines, which made me sad. BTW, the migraines didn't decrease when I went off.

Im on Loestrin 24, and it has definately decreased libido...not good. But it doesnt cause weight gain and lots of other side effects...i wonder if people use that for an excuse sometimes, but they are all sooo different.

I was on YAZ for 9 months and ended up in the hospital for two weeks (earlier this year) with blood clots on my lungs.

I was just prescribed YAZ and have been on it for a week. I have heard so many negative things about it. I had horrendous headaches the first few days. So far it is okay.

I was on Nuva ring before for about 5 years. I really liked it but switched bc it decreased my libido and caused vaginal dryness.

I am looking for a better bc pill right now.

I am curious to hear other replies.

Daisy, sorry to hear about your lungs. What are you taking now?

HHHmmm, ya all make one think. I have 5 kids ranging from 19 yrs. to 19 months. Finally figured out that bc can't prevent, haha. Anyway, 8 months now and no problem recently got real strict on lowcarb and now am bl**ding half way through. Is this normal? Ask me pregnancy and delivery ?'s and I can answer that but not bc ?'s.

Thank you...

I can no longer take a BCP due to the blood clots. After my blood has been regulated for 6 - 9 months, I'll have a hysterectomy. I was put on YAZ to begin with to control bleeding from fibroids.

I hope you will be getting better from what happened.

I have decided today to stop taking it. It is making me emotional, moody, tired and I have no patience.

I am not sure if I am going to be taking anymore bc pills.

Faithful Seasonale user, started as soon as it was available. Had a tubal over 25 years ago, but the Seasonale helps with the pms that I have almost continually and helps with the severe cramping and heavy bleeding.

I just wanted to update, I am now on Necon 1/35 which is the generic version of Ortho Novum, and I have to say, I love it so far. NO headaches..just some breakthrough b/c of starting atkins, no biggie. LOL

And tomorrow is my 2nd week back on and I have lost 6.6 pounds so far, so I can't complain. I guess only time will tell.
