For Females ONLY..!!!

Hi all~

I hope all is well with you! I have a question. I'm on my third week of induction and have lost around 11 pds..yipppee!!! My TOM came last week and it won't seem to stop!! I started slow (spotting) and then normal and then stopped two days ago, and now, slightly spotting again.

Does this have anything to do with my new WOE???

**Sorry about the TMI junk but I know this is the best place to ask...

THANK YOU~~

Any "drastic" (or even not so drastic) change in eating can mess up your period.

Estrogen is stored in fat cells, so as you get rid of fat cells, there's issues with the estrogen.

It should return to normal in a month or so.

If it doesn't, then consult your doctor.

I'm not a licensed health care provider... it's just the information I've read over and over again.

It has everything to do with your new WOE. It will get better. I think most of us Atkin's girls go through this in the beginning. Completely normal. Has to do with fat/estrogen I belive, I think that was the general concensis. Hang in there.

I have noticed since my restart my flow is much lighter now. Not sure if it's the LC or the exercise but, my cramping is not nearly as bad these days and thats a good thing!

My cramps are alot better,as for TOM itself i have to sleep with a towel under me its that bad.Last month wasn't bad,but i have low iron and my DR said that's what caused it.I'm now on Meds for iron,so maybe check with your DR if it's not getting better.

I had the same thing happen the last year when I went on Induction for several weeks. I finally went to the doctor and he could not find anything wrong so maybe it does have something to do with Induction......

I have to agree with the fat cells and estrogen theory. My endocrinologist has told me that several times~ I had the same thing happen to me the first 2 months, but now it has leveled off.
Hope things quiet down for you soon.

Dana, I had two periods close together my first month, but then things normalized for me.

I think there's a big hormonal change your first few weeks of lowcarbing.

Estrogen levels are higher when you are burning fat because estrogen is stored in fat. Just another FYI you can also be very fertile at this time if you are burning a lot fat so just be cautious!

Im a little slow sorry. I wonder what you decided? The last one I took was yasmin, I thought it was really great...no side effects at all. Also my dr. did not yell at me about the smoking as much. Now I am not taking anything...and I quit smoking! whoo hoo
