O.T. Progesterone injections

I know it is way off topic but maybe someone can share some information.

I have had two miscarriages and really want a baby. A friend of mine is taking progesterone shots and (after a previous miscarriage) is almost to week 9.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this problem and what was their solution? Thanks.

incontrol I know how it feels when your trying to conceive. There are several threads on this topic in the womens health section. Good Luck!

I did the fertility dance about 3 years ago...meds, surgery, ultrasounds..you name it without success so we turned to adoption and it was the best decision we could have made. Check out the women's health forum. There's some really good info there. Good luck!!

I've been in your position. After my first 2 losses, my dr agreed to let me try progesterone supplements when I got pregnant again. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me and I miscarried a 3rd time, and a 4th time, and a 5th time. We tried one more time and were blessed with our son.

I'm not saying progesterone won't help, but in my case, low progesterone wasn't the issue. We never did find out what the issue was. If low progesterone is your problem, it may very well help. Additional progesterone can't hurt, so see if your dr is agreeable.

I know this is a difficult journey you are on. I have all the hope that is a successful one for you.

Thanks, for the hugs! Both miscarriages were very similiar. The first was instant HEAVY bleeding and that was it. The second one I had HEAVY bleeding (like I was peeing) and I carried another week and a half. Lost both before 8 weeks. I am just hanging my hope that the progesterone would fix my "problem." Just feels good to have a safety net that maybe that would work.

for you and your angel babies.

I just wanted to officially welcome you over the TTC board if you're interested. There are a couple of us over there with LPD and are using progesterone cream (OTC) to try to support pregnancy. We always love to meet new ladies.

Sending lots of , and baby dust your way!

I took progesterone pills with my first two - carried them to term, although I bled heavily during the first trimester with both, didn't take anything with my third and miscarried (my progesterone was in the low side of normal and they didn't give it to me - I should have pushed for it), then insisted with the 4th pregnancy (twins) and carried them to term.

If you have low progesterone I recommend you get the shots. DH gave them to me at home (my best friend is an RN and she taught him how) and I'm convinced the only reason I miscarried number 3 is because I didn't take the progesterone.

I know it has been a while since you asked but I wanted to encourage you:
I lost 3 pregnancies at around 4-6 wks. I got pregnant right after nursing school and suggested progesterone to my high risk OG. He first wouldn't even test me. He finally did (I threatened) and found out my HCG and progesterone were dengerously low. I had to take progesterone suppositoried every 12 hours every day until the end of week 14 (end of first trimester) I did have my blood drawn every week and the pharmacist would adjust the strength of the suppositories based on my levels. I had (otherwise) an uneventful pregnancy and delivered my 10yr old at 38 1/2 wks. I was told that as soon as I susspect another pregnancy to come in right away for progesterone. When my DD was 5 mo. old I did a pregnancy test and found out I was 2 month pregnant with DD 9. I immediatly got to the Doc. and started on the drug. I delivered that one at 40wk.
