I want to thank you for your amazing skin care revelations! I am 41 years old and have had acne since I was 13. When I read your post that you wash your face with olive oil and moisturized with coconut oil, my first thought was, "what the heck???" but then I tried it. A funny thing happened on the way to the clogged pores and massive breakouts I was expecting. My face is absolutely clear and my ginormous pores on my forehead, nose and chin are gone! I swear, even my uneven skin tone is amazingly clearer. Seriously, I've been inspecting with my magnifying hand mirror because I still can't believe my eyes!
I feel like I've been duped for over 20 years! I've used every hypo-allergenic, non-comedegenic product under the sun and still had breakouts and large pores! Just one month of using EVOO & EVCO and I feel like a success story. And I could just gush about my baby-smooth belly & legs- these have had the texture of fine-grade sand paper since puberty, almost 30 years. While I'm a bit peturbed that it's taken me this long to see the beauty of these products, I do feel like I've found the fountain of youth. Thank you ever so much!! ![]() |

How do you use the Olive oil to wash your face. Spread it on, then wash it off with a wash cloth? I have used the CO as a moisturizer, it makes the skin very soft.

eggiwegs, congrats on your great results. I'm LOVING it too ! I've been using castor oil and the results are no less than amazing. My pores after just the first use were at least half their normal size.
My 18yr. dd is willing to try it after seeing how much I love it. She does breakout and is on topical meds...that just kind of work....I can't wait to see how it works for her. Laura |

lol, yes I do smear it on! I start off with a dry face and use one of those square cotton pads (I think they call them "cosmetic squares" or something like that). Pour one tablespoon onto the cotton pad and gently buff around your face. Rinse with warm water and blot with a towel. Your face will still feel dewey after rinsing it, but not after blotting it. I then put the smallest bit of coconut oil on my fingertips (I use less than 1/8 teaspoon) and rub it until it melts. Apply to your face and really rub it in. If I don't rub it in, it kinda sits on top of my skin.
As for the rest of my body, that has come from taking the CO internally. I eat one tablespoon every night before bed. I can't believe the dramatic change that has occurred. Even my eczema is clearing up. This is just too good of a thing to not shout from the rooftops! |

Thanks Eggi! Will try it tonight! You gave me such a good idea! Both my girls and I have extremely dry skin. Nothing really works. How great is it to smear coconut oil over our dry spots. Something that is good and natural for you. My sis in law who is really health conscious always said that the skin is the biggest organ and absorbs everything you put on it.
She refuse to put chemicals and fragrance on it. Thanks again! |

That sounds like it's definitely worth a shot but i'm soooooooo nervous about putting oil on my face!
I have really oily skin.. i'm so afraid of putting even more oil on top of it and breaking out like crazy. Has anyone with oily skin tried this? I also have larger pores in some areas, so this would be great if I could get away with using it! Just sounds really counterproductive, at least for someone like me. But hey, if it works for me i'm all over it! Thanks for sharing too! ![]() |

I get small patches on my eyelids that are very dry, almost scaly and the only thing that works on them is cortisone cream and that barely works. I am going to try usiing the oils on them to see if this clears them up.
One question though, why both olive oil, then CO? Are there different benefits to using the 2 oils together? |

I have always had combination skin, oily on my nose & chin, dry everywhere else. Even on my driest skin, I was still prone to breakouts. My forehead has had one stubborn pimple that never really went away.
Luvslipstick- I do not wash my face first, I just use olive oil. Like I said, I put it on a cotton pad and swoosh it around. I even use it right after working out when you'd think that would do the most damage as far as clogged pores are concerned. Jadeca1- I also have patches of oily skin and I really bought into the "oil makes oil" philosophy, that's why I was so skeptical of Yellowbrix' results. It really does sound counterproductive, but I now look at it like Atkins diet for the face. Maybe we're breaking out in acne because we strip our skin instead of nourishing it? I've been using Mary Kay cosmetics which is supposed to be extra healthy for your skin and they do not leave my skin feeling "stripped". But in the end, even the most moisturizing skin care products still do not contain any lipids and IMO, they will strip your skin. Me33- I don't know if it will help or not, but it worked for me and I'm the biggest skeptic. My original plan was to use it for a weekend (or whenever I got a bunch of zits, whichever came first, lol!) and then go back to my normal skin care regimen. Like I said, it hasn't happened. It's been over a month now and I"m still surprised. Buffy45- I don't know of any benefit to using both oils and IMO, you can use one if you prefer. I actually only use CO on my skin if it's really dry. Otherwise I take CO internally and use OO as both a cleanser and moisturizer. Another nice benefit is money. I just bought a 500mL bottle of organic EVOO from Trader Joes for $12. My Mary Kay Timewise cleanser is only 4.5oz and cost $18! Add the 3.3oz moisturizer for $20, the 0.65oz eye moisturizer for $15, the 1.5oz acne treatment gel for $7.00.... You get the picture. If you're going to start this and are skeptical like me, just plan it for a time that you don't have any plans. That will give you peace of mind. I started mine on a weekend. |

I've not tried cleansing my skin with olive oil, but about a month ago I did start using it as my facial moisturizer at night. OHHHH...my skin feels so soft and wonderful with it! And I have very oily skin with blackheads and occ. pimples. But as I've aged my skin feels "tight" and drawn after washing it, even though I know in an hour or so it will be very oily.
When I use the oil at night, I don't notice my face is as oily in the morning. So maybe I need to start using it as my daytime moisturizer, too! Just not sure how it will do under makeup... I don't have any coconut oil, so can't add anything about it.

Very interesting. I'm 45 years old and my face still breaks out all the time. I've always thought the same thing - putting anything oily/greasy on my face would lead to MORE breakouts.
I know DHC has an entire line of olive oil products, and some of my friends swear by it - that it has cleared up their skin, etc. I wonder if the coconut oil would help the dark circles under my eyes? ![]() |

Loretta, my secret to using EVOO as a moisturizer is to put a very little bit in the palms of you hands. One-half to one teaspoon tops. Rub it in your hands until it warms up, about 5 seconds. Place your hands on your face covering your cheeks. Hold for a second or two, and then lightly push your hands upwards toward your temples. Then rub your hand across your forehead, upper lip, chin and down your nose. Done!

Yes. My face really soaks it in, so I have no problems with it. I also use the mineral-type foundation, so I haven't had any issues with too much moisturizers (if there is such a thing, lol!)

I have been using CO nightly now for about 10 days as my only moisturizer. Wow, it has cleared up the itchy dry patches on my eyes and my skin feels sooo smooth and silky. Makes for a simple routine, just cleanse my face with pre-moistened cleansing cloth, then rub in the CO all over face, and carefully around eye area. Done!
