Anyone go off the pill recently?
I've been on the pill for over 15 years. I was on Jasmin for the last 5. I recently went off due to advice from my Dr. Has anyone gone off the pill after so long? If so, how did affect your weight loss if at all? Any stories good or bad would be great!

I did this about a year ago after approx 10 years on the pill. I didn't really notice an effect on my weight, but I wasn't actively trying to lose, either. I do think that when I started to get active and eat better (a few months after going off the pill) I lost better than I ever had when I was on it.

I stopped taking the orthotryclycin lo after a year and now I don't break out! w00t. As far as the weight thing, I've been losing weight cause I started back on the diet hardcore around the same time I quit taking the pill. I also heard that the pill makes you retain water, so this might help your weight loss.

I went off of Yasmin a month ago because my husband is deployed. I thought it would help my weight loss and give my body a break. However, I have only gained weight but I quit smoking at the same time so I blame it more on that. Who knows!

I think it depends on the kind of pill you're on, as well - i think that before I switched to Loestrin, which is lower estrogen, I felt a lot more bloated.

Yes.
I went off of YAZ on February 18th - the day I entered the hospital for blood clots (extensive damage) on my lungs. The pill caused the clots. I was in the hospital for two weeks. ![]() |

I am glad to see this...
I took myself off Yazmin.. last July or August.. I felt like it was doing something to my circulation.. I couldn't prove it... but something just didn't feel right. |

I am thinking of quitting the pill. Currently taking Yasmin. Spot pretty much all the time-very inconvenient. They did switch me once to Levlen which was higher and I HATED it - broke out and gained water weight. I am just not sure yet. I am afraid to switch pills due to weight gain. I am thinking of quitting and trying some sort of alternate form of BC. I asked my husband to get a vasectomy and he looked at me like I was on crack. I am 36 and we have one DD. I do not want more - my DH is the last of 11 kids and does not want anymore either (I think). I am just really torn with the decision to switch pills or stop.

The thought of an IUD scares me..... I really do not know that much about them. I am going to look into it.
