Hey ladies
I have been absent from this thread for eons! Things got busy, I had a pregnancy complication, things got busier But I've been checking in and reading to keep up.So back in November I had an amnio done...the procedure went fine. The next day I was leaking amniotic fluid though. So my doc admitted me to the hospital for complete bedrest to give the "rupture" time to close up. I had to stay in the hospital from Friday until Monday...no getting up and lying inverted (feet higher than heart/head), getting heparin injections because I wasn't moving about and preventive antibiotics because there was a rupture. But it closed over and I got to come home...another week of modified bedrest and I was as good as new. And ever since everything has been fine again...no other problems and the pregnancy is back on track, so I'm not considered high risk or anything. My major issues remain sleep disturbance and peeing all the time I thought I might get a break from the bathroom the 2nd trimester but it was not to be And I'm having awful times trying to get any sleep...I'm usually up a couple hours each night before I go back to bed. Ugh.And this Friday is the dreaded glucose test. My ob said I could wait until 28 weeks to do it because I didn't have problems with my last pregnancy. So I hope it works out okay this time too. My SIL's stepdaughter who is quite a petite gal (just over 5 feet tall and a size 0) just had a baby boy...9 lbs 14 oz That's big! She had a c-sect of course because she is so tiny. I'm thinking a smaller baby would be just fine by me JDPrecious - I just noticed that you baby is due on my birthday! Anyway, it's good to be back to the thread Niccole |

Thanks Kaiser! Wow, 35 weeks...you've almost made the finish line!
Have you had any of your showers yet? Just wondering if you are getting all kinds of cute clothes and stuff. That's a fun part of being pregnant! Haven't had any heartburn, this time or last, so have no good advice there. But I do agree that the ice cream sounds tasty! |

Okay, a question and a rant...
I've been feeling very antisocial with this pregnancy. Hence my long absence from this thread Is that a normal thing? Has anyone else just felt that way since being pregnant? I just prefer to keep to myself I guess. And my rant...so as all you ladies know, people just love to comment about all things pregnancy. Everyone keeps telling me that I'm not big enough. Yesterday my MIL came home from Florida for a short visit and she hasn't seen me since early November. And she says "I think you're going to go longer than April 30th (my due date)" because she doesn't think I "look" pregnant enough What's that about? Apparently I should be as big as a house and everyone would be happy??? |

Don't listen to a word people say about how they think you should look. Only you know how you feel and if you feel you are right on schedule and your doctor feel you are right on schedule, then forget about 'em

Morning ladies! How is everyone feeling? A lot of you seem to be very close to your due dates - how exciting!!
Epi_Doc - Just tell her your doctor isn't concerned, so you aren't either. BTW, I think I've been a little more antisocial than usual (I'm normally pretty antisocial anyway) since getting pregnant, and I think it has mostly to do with my energy level. I never got that burst of energy that's supposed to accompany the 2nd trimester. It just takes so much effort to be social. The past couple of weeks I've really had to force myself to at least respond to people when they e-mail me. Well, I finally went out and registered this weekend. It was overwhelming. I stood in front of the wall of bottles and nipples for what seemed like a lifetime. I still have no idea if I picked the right stuff since neither DH nor I have any clue about that sort of stuff. I guess we'll find out. I have a routine appointment today, but am not looking forward to stepping on that scale. Hope everyone has a great day! |

Epi, I have been the same, especially lately. My girlfriend keeps bothering me these last few days.. trying to get me to do this or do that.. I just want to rest and relax and spend these last few days with my Dh while we are parentless.

Hello!
I registered this weekend too and was overwhelmed! I had NO CLUE what bottles, etc to register for. Dr. appt. went great Friday - she assured me that what I'm feeling must be the baby, and me BP was great (110/63) compared to last time! The only thing I feel bad about is that I'd been taking Rolaids for my heartburn, and she told me I had to stop taking them and only take Tums or Zantac. Apparantly Rolaids are metal based or something like that. I'm bummed too because I really liked the chewie ones.

Thanks for the input ladies. I knew you all would understand what I'm talking about. People just annoy me lately...maybe that's why I want to be antisocial
Sometimes I think it's partly maternity clothes...some are cut in a way that makes you look huge and others seem more flattering. Now, if they saw me naked then they might think I look much much bigger. But nobody needs to see that Chrystee - It is almost over! How exciting for you. Since I have a hard time keeping people straight, I'll ask...are you feeling anything happening like you might go early? Or are you having an induction or anything? I know some people on here have mentioned inductions and scheduled c's. Sorry I can't remember! Kateyez and Paula - Don't worry too much about the registry. I think you just pick what appeals to you and that is that. Trust me, babies are not too choosy about most things As far as bottles and stuff...are you all planning to strictly bottle feed or combo bottle and breast? The only reason I ask is that you might need to change nipples if you are doing both...something that resembles the shape and flow speed they get from the breast. But you can do that after you start combo feeding if need be.Rogue - Congrats! and welcome. Maybe you'll be lucky and skip some unpleasant pregnancy symptoms...like morning sickness. Okay, today I have had the worst aching in my bladder all day. It's not an infection...it's just having the baby right on it. When will this baby move up? If my uterus is inching upward, he has room to go with it. I tell you I can't take 12 more weeks of this aching bladder. Niccole |

well had another docs appt again today... im to the point where i am going weekly now...
id rather sleep... haha.. but everything looks good and is normal ... although they did offer me ambien as a rx since i am not sleeping very well... i am up almost every night until 3 or 4 am...but its mostly due to the fact that i sleep well into the afternoon since df and dd are not here... im going to try to get my sleeping schedule straightened out on my own before i take the ambien.... the dr said he didnt want me to take it until i was really uncomfortable... which i am but not to the point where i cant sleep... that will still be a week or two im sure... and funny as i say that i notice my ribs are so sore tonight and im having to lay on my back to even get comfortable... oh well we will see if he wants to give it to me next week when i go back... or if i need it... officially 4 weeks left. lord make it go fast!!

Paula.. Have you heard of the Dr. Brown's bottles? If you are going to straight formula then you might want to look into them. They help reduce gas and colic for babies.

Chrystee- Maybe your doctor will find that you've made some progress on Friday. I agree about the induction. I'm a believer that the baby will be born when it's ready, whether that is 40 weeks or not.
Paula - If you are strictly formula feeding then whatever bottles/nipples you picked are what the baby will use I liked the Playtex disposable system so you can just drop in the liner and use that and throw it out after feeding. And they are great for getting rid of the extra air that can cause gas. |

I love the Avent bottles, we at first had the ventaire by Playtex but because they didnt have a wide variety of nipple selection we eventually bought the Avent. I think you will really like them Paula. Plus they are super easy to clean.

All I registered for were the Avent too. Most of my friends here said nothing but good things about them, so I went with it...
I have my 36 week appt this afternoon. Is it possible I might be dilating??? LIke maybe to a 1 or 2??? That is so exciting if it is! |

I had the Avent bottles too, but even on their slowest flow it was too fast for my son. So I switched to the Playtex ones because he could keep up with that better.
Kaiser - It is possible that you are dilating! Let us know what the doc says. |

Hey girls we're almost there!!! If I end up having a c section then I'll probaby have my baby in my arms by the end of the month!
On another note, I've been eating pretty clean and healthy throughout the majority part of my pregnancy, but for the last two weeks, I don't seem to want to eat anything except bread, pasta, and ice cream. Wat the heck is wrong with me? My eating has made me feel very sluggish and lousy overall. Just like a regular carb overdose. Tomorrow I'm going to try to get back to maintenance level. Wish me luck!
