No weight loss during TOM
I need some help, I had no weight loss during TOM, is this normal?? This is only my second week doing atkins.......the first week I lost 4 lbs.., then TOM came, and i have lost nothing this last week. I also seemed to have gained a pound.....I'm hoping that's from TOM, and will be gone soon. Also, I'm not in ketosis anymore, but i'm still doing everything the same! Can anyone shed some light on this??

Not losing during TOM is common and also generally deceptive. I GAIN 3-5 lbs during TOM, but generally afterward drop what ever I gained plus another pound or 2. |

Oh yeah, it's normal, and just as frustrating each time. The important thing is not to let it derail you. I also find that drinking a little coffee and eating a little lc chocolate helps with cravings. I'm going through it right now, and hoping the whoosh will come any day.

The strips were registering the first week, and yesterday the stip changed color just a little (or maybe it was wishfull thinking). I wasn't sure if others had this occur, or maybe my cycle has screwed up my trying to lose weight. And if I will have to struggle with this every month........gosh I hope not, very discouraging. Still on Atkins induction though.....haven't cheated.

Since my restart I have had my TOM twice now. Both times no weight loss for the week but, still in Ketosis. I think I just retain a lot of water during TOM.

SAGlaze - I didn't lose any weight while on TOM, but I'm back to "normal" now, in ketosis and losing weight. Although it did last longer than what it normally does by 2 days, and was heavier. Thanks for the advice!

I have learned this the hard way many times in the past....
TOM would always get me so discouraged, I would cheat & have to start over. Whenever I stayed the course, & stayed OFF the scale until it was over, I ALWAYS went down by 3-6 pounds overnight. Don't let it get you down. In fact, I now expect it to happen, and I just look forward to the huge jump down on the scale ![]() |
