TTC - The New Year
Happy New Year, ladies!
Dudley - for all that's going on. Can I ask what you do? (feel free not to answer, of course, if you're not comfortable). I ask because I do some HR at my company, too. Terming an EE is never fun, so my heart goes out to you. Starting to chart can be really confusing, even though it sometimes sounds like it should be really clear. Try to stay patient with it, it may take a couple cycles just playing around with it before you are really comfortable enough to rely on the info. Heck, after a year of charting, I still get confused about my fertility signs and have to take a break every once in a while. As far as the temp goes, that's a pretty low temp in general. Mine usually run around that in my pre-O time, and I find that I tend to run on the lowish end of the spectrum (at least from my observation of other charts). BUT everyone is different, so until you have a couple cycles under your belt, you really can't tell. (sorry, that's not helpful I know, and it's soooo frustrating)Potaty - challenge time!! I'm really excited about feeling better, ya know. It seems like after a while of eating crap I just feel like crap, but keep eating the crap out of habit. Breaking the cycle!! Today I'm gonna eat zero sugar/processed white stuff, and try to get in at least a 15 min walk (gotta start somewhere ) Sorry that you had to find out something's wrong, but at least it's exciting to know what you're dealing with now, and that you can treat it. You'll be preggers in no time!Hope your New Year is getting off to a great start! 2007 Baby dust to all!

Happy New Year, Roxanne, Kat, and Dudley!
Today was my first day on the Insulin Resistance Diet. So far, I love it! Not sure the scale will move very fast, but that's okay. I'd rather lose slower and keep it off than lose quick and regain like last time I did Atkins seriously. I still need to get on the treadmill for 30-40 minutes, I've been putting it off but I will get it done. I still have not heard back from my doctor's office so not quite sure what my answers are yet. I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow to request a copy of my results so I can have a looksie at them. Sometimes I can be pretty intuitive and I've been having a feeling that March or April will be our month. We shall see!

Jenkat: I am a clinic manager for a group of Internal Medicine docs and Gastroenterologists. It sucks because the person I fired took over part of my old job so I could focus on admin duties and she did a darn good job of it...too good though. She called in prescriptions for herself- a huge, gigantic no-no!
I had to break down and ask my doctor for anti-biotics today due to a sinus infection. The whole left side of my face just plain hurts. Never had an infection this bad before. So if I'm lucky I'll finish my treatment just before its time to BD. But I'm still trying to figure out this charting. It's coming along- I think I understand it better. It's neat to think how much info you get from it- but I want to fast forward three months so I have data to look at you know? I had a feeling that the CM was the key to fertility but now I am sure of it. It still amazes me how easily some people get pregnant while others struggle Ok enough about me- Potaty- How does your doc explain the increase in temp in your situation? Sorry to hear about the diagnosis- at least you're on the right path with low carb- my doc's at work don't put much value in low carb- as they watch me lose weight and become more healthy while their patient's struggle I looked at the forecast of my fertility in April and we will be in Las Vegas during my peak fertility (maybe). My husband loves the idea of my possibly becoming pregnant while in Vegas. We love it there! Except the eating- very hard to eat right there... Boy am I gabby tonight Gotta run- talk to everyone soon. Babydust to all!! |

Roxanne - Happy New Year back at ya! Anything new and exciting for you!
Potaty - what does the IR diet look like? Is it much like a Type II diabetic's diet? I know what you mean about getting too strict and the ensuing regain LOL) I walked my mile yesterday and ate very cleanly! Cool about your intuition. Now, can you just tell me when I'm gonna get PG Dudley - how cool, I work with a physician's clinic specializing in pain management and an associate ambulatory surgery center. I've had the same situation, not pretty and so unfortunate for everyone involved. and sinus infection, too... Booooo, no fun. Feel better soon so you can throw all your energy at that BDin Well, I'm getting ready to be out of town for a retreat weekend during my most fertile days, so we get to BD just for sheer fun of it I'll be around today and back on Monday, so I'm gonna miss ya'll! Where is everyone in their cycle? Is everyone else trying this month? GL with your BDin! |

Kat, nothing really new and exciting for me. I'm not actively TTC right now(hoping for a miracle though!). I'm focusing on weight loss. You know I have to check in on you though, because I will be cheering so hard when you post about your BFP!!! Have a fun weekend!
Potaty, I have the Insulin Resistance Diet book at home. It's a good plan and you will have a lot of success with it. I plan on going back to that plan eventually (probably next month). Take care ladies! |

Dudley: I really do think I ovulated. The "independent" research I've done myself says that a progesterone level over 5 indicates some kind of ovulatory activity. I was a 6.5 at 4DPO. The test was on CD21 with my recorded ovulation on CD17, so if they were assuming I have a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14, I can see where 6.5 would be low. Does that make any sense? If they tested me 7DPO (on CD24), my levels would have been higher, right? (I don't know the answer to that, so if anyone does, please let me know.) I had a +OPK the day before I had ovulatory pains, along with a 3 day temp spike after that.
Hoping your Vegas trips brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Vegas, Baby!" Kat: I don't know much about the TypeII Diabetic diet, but the IR diet uses food linking. I can't have any carbs without a protein "linked to it". No more than 30 carbs per mini meal or snack, and it has to be linked with a minimum of 7 grams of protein per 15 carbs. I also have to wait 2 hours between snacks or meals that include carbs, but I can eat protein in between. So if I want an orange for a snack, I have to eat protein with it (I've been eating it with cottage cheese). It's hard to adjust to eating whole grain bread and fruits again because with Atkins I had become so carb conscious, but I am feeling great and I even lost 6 lbs. overnight! (I was very carbed up from the holidays though). I think it will be a perfect way to eat while pregnant because of the frequent meals. Have a safe trip!!! Roxanne: I am loving the IR diet, it's so nice to be able to have stuff I had been depriving myself of. I was really getting bad with caving on Atkins and then eating everything in sight so I think it will be good for me to be allowed things, then I won't be so apt to binge. As for me, I am currently on CD10 with estimated ovulation on CD16 (crosses fingers). I just put in another call to my doctor's nurses to see if I can get any more info yet, also requested the results be mailed to me. My mom is a doctor of homeopathic medicine and she put me on some stuff to help with my IR so I am feeling very postive and excited. My 2nd acupuncture treatment is tomorrow. I am doing acupuncture because one of my clients has a masters in it and I figured it couldn't hurt anything. |

I could go on and on about this..... for you for ovulation in a few days. Do you like acupuncture? I hate needles so the thought of it just makes me cringe. But I see my Chiropractor on a regular basis.(I love him almost as much as my husband in a merely platonic way) It sounds like you've got a great support system lined up to help you figure this out.I'm starting to get a little nervous because I've been reading up on my low thyroid and I'm wondering if that is going to cause a problem for me. From what I can find it seems I may not be medicated enough. Great, another thing to worry about. I think I am going to just treat this cycle like normal for this chart and see what I have at the end of the month. |

How's everyone doing? Still no word from my doc's office
. I love my doctor and don't want to switch. I'm just irritated that I obviously need to be on some meds that could take a couple months to make a difference, so I want to get started. I am going to a health food store tomorrow to buy some progesterone cream and I ordered the fertility blend supplement. If they won't help me, I'll just try helping myself!![]() |

Potaty- hopefully they will get back to you early this coming week. I would suggest just calling over and over until you get an answer. In my office the squeaky wheel gets the grease if needs be. Then you wont have to guess about how to medicate yourself.

Hi Beloved! Good to see you
![]() GL with the Atkins and the BDin! Potaty - any word from the doc, yet? I did a similar thing with the Vitex, only I never gave my doc the chance to help Be careful with the progesterone cream, tho, cause I think it is possible to get too much, but I have no idea what safe amounts are. I'm with Dudley on calling back till they help. You don't have to be obnoxious, but sometimes you do have to be pretty persistant.Roxanne - I'll be for your miracle, too!Well, I'm back from my retreat (obviously, huh ) It was wonderful. I feel so recharged. I was also blessed that the clergy for the weekend happened to be a woman who struggled with fertility issues herself, so I've found a new person to really help me with this journey. Pretty sure I O'd while I was on the mountain, tho, so the break cycle is about half-way done. Got home and found out a friend (an estranged one, but a friend, nonetheless) m/c at 3 months my heart just breaks for her, but she seems to be handling it really well. If you all are the praying-type, I'd ask you to keep her in yours - her name is Sarah.Lots and lots of baby dust, ladies! |

Hi Jenkat- glad to hear you had a good time. It's so nice to be able to recharge once in awhile. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I can imagine how painful that must be to go through.
I have just about given up trying BDing this cycle. I am sick again! This is not like me- usually I never get sick. It is either a reaction to the antibiotics or a stomach virus. I think the latter because it is going around. My temp was high this am but I checked earlier than usual and I had been up three times last night in the bathroom. I went back to bed and checked it two hours later (cause I'm curious) and it went down. I don't think I o'd because I have none of the other signs though. This may be good timing anyway because i am scheduled for my annual next month and I want to discuss my thyroid treatment with my doctor. I think I am undermedicated as it is- and that could impede in my fertility as well as maintaining a pregnancy. Maybe my charting will help show that. Hope everyone else is in good shape! |

potaty- wow what poor communication
At least you know that there was a reason you were getting ignored! Hopefully you'll get an answer soon. So- Here we are in the middle of our very similar cycles. Anyone thinking about TTC? My DH and I are going to try, so we'll see what the next couple of weeks bring. It is so much easier to figure this stuff out with TCOYF. Thank you guys so much for letting me know about it! What kind of low carb eating are you guys planning on doing when you are pregnant? I haven't thought much about it since I am always in the trying to lose weight frame of mind. Talk to you soon- baby dust to everyone! |

Yeah, no kidding, did the nurses not realize the doc was out this whole time Dudley - we were taking this cycle "off" cause I O'd at my retreat, and cause we just needed a break. I should start Monday-Wednesday and then we'll be back at it I bought a gi-normous pack of Answer OPKs (w/o the case, so they were VERY affordable). I'm going to experiment with testing at diff times of the day. I'm also gonna add an extra Vitex each day and see what happens. DH has orientation tonight and starts back to school next Friday, so I'm just hoping he has the time/energy this month! We talked a little more about adoption last night, deciding we would start as soon as he graduates, even if we have to go into debt. Who doesn't go into debt to have a baby, right. ![]() Baby dust! |
