My doc wrote the RX today and I meet with compounding pharmacist tomorrow. He is going to go over nutritional supplementation/adrenal support for the abnormal cortisol levels. My doc is very interested in how this turns out and asked me to cooperate by coming in for follow up appts with him, I told him i would. He wanted to know how i found this pharmacist, ect... I am looking forward to getting some results.... Anybody been through this scenario let me know how long it took you to feel better. My oB doc says it may take 4months or more...hmmmm Last edited by Kerry_Will_Win : 09-21-2006 at 05:44 PM. |

I have to report that since starting Thursday night with the Progesterone cream and the vitamins for adrenal support I am feeling much, much better. The biggest thing I notice is my emotions are not as dead, I Feeeel some happy feelings and joy where before It was just get through another day...death is not an option..
I also am able to read some journals I previously could not make myself do. I dont feel as negative and weighed down. I am very excited and hopeful for better things to come. |

I am in the same boat as far as getting hormones back to "normal". I have PCOS, no testosterone, no progesterone, very low cortisol and hypothyroidism!!
I just started taking progesterone tablets (last night) and testosterone cream today...I have been taking Armour for my thyroid for about 2 months and I think it is starting to kick in. I hope it doesn't take long for everything to get "in the groove" of working... Good Luck! |

During my 2nd cycle the last premenstrual week I had some teariness and irritabiliby along with my brain not shutting off as easily at night. My pharmacist adjusted my progesterone to 10mg per .25ml days 1-12 of cycle, 20mg per 0.25ML days 13-19 of cycle, 25mg per 0.25 per ml days 20-26 of cycle. This is my 3rd cycle since going on the progesterone...... I feel like i have been resurrected from the dead. My sleep is very deep and refreshing. My brain turns on after 8 hours usually and then my eyes are ready to open a few minutes later. I still take 120mg of Armour and the recommended vitamins for my stressed adrenals. I am amazed at the change in me as are my friends and family. I have literally gone from existing, struggling with thoughts of death, to being very happy to be alive and be productive.
For many years I have suffered with no emotions, just a flat feeling... that is GONE... I am happy. I am getting to know myself again. The person I knew 20 years ago was just buried... I can handle the stresses of everyday life and more... I cant say enough for the results I've had. I have not had my next set of tests yet. I have decided to move out west and will have to get a doc there. My pharmacist said he will make some calls and find someone who knows what they are doing as far as the compounding pharmacist goes. He said he will know just taking to them if they are good or not. My RX is GOLD... I dont ever want to be without. |

Kerry!
You sound great and so full of positive energy!! I'm so glad that things are going well for you. I think I'm going to copy your message for my friend in Florida because it sounds like she is struggling with the same things. Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. |

I highly recommend the book "You've Hit Menopause, Now What?" 3 Simple Steps to Restoring Hormone Balance. (has chapter on male hormone balance also).
George Gillson MD, PhD Tracy Marsden BScPharm This book I got from my compounding pharmacist. It would be especially helpful for women who cant find a doctor or pharmacist that understand bioavailable vs natural or synthetic. It will help you wade through misinformation even from your doctor. My sister did all the steps, her doctor assured her she would RX bio-identical but it was synthetic... Sigh... Natural doesnt mean bio-identical. This book explains it very thoroughly but simply with additional reading recommendations in the back. website listed in book is www.rmalab.com |

Hey, I just saw where you are from...I'm from Slidell (right outside New Orleans). Nice to meet ya! I was born and raised there (lived over 30 years of my life in Slidell) and got married in 2000. We now live in Tennessee (four years). I miss the neighborhood, but really enjoy the cool weather! What did you do during Hurricane Katrina? |

I had my 2nd child at Northshore in Slidell, La. I was in Gulfport, MS during Katrina just north of I-10. Part of roof came off, lots of water damage. House had to be torn down. I have been living with Aunt and Uncle in Mobile. I am going to move to Salt Lake next month where I have a place to call my own. (I will have the basement of a house and help take care of disabled owner)
I have visited Tennessee and remember the beautiful fall colors. Went for a hog roast, very good time. |
