Post your Pregnancy menus
I just found out today that I'm pregnant, actually will confirm tomorrow with a blood test at the doc.
I don't want to completely abandon my LC ways, because that is why I gained a ton of weight with the last pregnancy. I'm also still quite a bit overweight. So, can anyone post their pregnancy LC menus to give me some specific ideas on how I should adapt. I'm sure I'm not eating enough calories. PS.... now I know why I haven't lost weight in the last month or so! |

At first, whatever will stay down and sounds good. Now that I'm feeling better, I'm back to the way I was eating before. I've actually lost a couple of pounds, but just water I'm sure and I'm eating lots of veggies.
Good luck and congrats! |

Congrats!!!
I've been trying to battle with the need to eat semi-low carb for my figure, and my pregnant cravings which makes me want to eat anything and everything bad. I would suggest exercising. I live in Luxembourg but my best from in LA is sending some dvds of pregnancy exercising videos. I figured, eat healthy and enjoy your foods, but exercise so you dont end up feeling too guilty. |

Congrats!
I wish you a lot of luck staying somewhat LC while pg--- I wanted to and was doing pretty good= until about 6 weeks when even the sight of chicken/meat made me want to hurl... I can hardly get down any protein- have been eating mostly pasta/breads- it's horrible... I'm gaining faster than I want to- and I laready LOOK pregnant at 11 weeks! ugh. I'm hoping once i'm out of the 1st trimester that maybe I can start eating protein again without feeling sick. |

Thank you Becca for posting this thread, I was just wondering the same thing. I just found out that I'm pregnant and would like to continue lc in a safe way. Please can anyone give us some ideas on how we should be eating? Or how we should motify? Thanks Amy

go to the bradley method childbirth website and you'll find good info on diet. it is a balanced way of eating and they give good reasons....if you are not able to eat the carbs w/o binging, then just use more vegies and fruit. i have recommended this diet and no one has had GDDM, or PIH or even a too large baby (even if they had any of these problems in previous pregnancies). hope this helps. congratulations.

Welcome to the club ladies, Congrats too all. I have to admit I tried to low card when I first found out I was pregnant. But I got sick to my stomach if seen eggs or meat. So I started making veggie sandwiches. I started eating alot of bread and cereal. I totally stopped my diet, But you know what I feel great, Ill diet again when I have the baby. I know I will have the power because atkins is just so easy. Good luck to all, I hope you can remain low carbing.
