What is going on w/ me? Anyone w/ ideas?
About 4 weeks ago I began getting some severe pains in my legs - almost like I pulled muscles or my muscles were stretching, causing me to limp etc.
I thought I found the answere - THOUGHT - it was Restless Leg Syndrome. I began thinking back and I could recall nights were I would rub my legs all night long due to the pain and I thought - BINGO, THAT'S IT, but... I went to the doc and by the time of the appointment I was also experiencing pains in my arms - the pulled muscle feeling or numbness or tingling or all of the above, in addition to those sensations in my legs. I would also feel my nose tingling on occasion. I get unbelieveable urges to itch various parts of my body - wrists, bottoms of feet etc. The pain and sensations are different daily and sometimes hour to hour. Yesterday my daughter took one of those hand held massage units to the back of my leg and the sensation was overwhelming and HORRIBLE....think I jumped 3 feet. My doctor was a bit surprised by the intensity of the reflexes in my legs when she tested that too. I had blood work done....great. Only thing in question was my thyroid results. I was .57 on a scale of .3 - 5.0. On the low end, but the symptoms of hyperthyroidism do not fit me from what I've read. I'm 39; WF; 5'4"; 136 ish and generally in good health until recently. I'm seeing a nuerologist in Oct. for EMG's; MRI; and CTscan.......my doc thinks it could be something "bigger," (MS etc.). But what is your opinion? ![]() |

I have a friend who is experiencing the same exact symptoms you are... tingling all over her body at different times, exhaustion, and some strange pains that accompany the tingling... She went to the doctor and her blood work came back perfect, so now she has appointments to get an MRI, CT Scan and something else.
Now, her doctor is telling her it could MS, Lupus or just a virus causing these symptoms. She says she wakes up feeling okay, but steps out of bed and the tingling and numbness begins. So, I'm sorry I don't have any idea as to what it is, but I thought I would share my friends story with you. Renee

That sounds very similar - will go to bed fine and the minute I step out of bed I'm limping - the pains are primarily on my left side, but I frequently get odd sensations on my right side. I haven't checked into Lupus and when I read about Fibromyalsia - that hits a nerve with the fatigue and all. We shall see, just hate waiting until mid Oct to meet the Nuerologist - it'll be time for the tests then too. Renee |

Are you taking a "statin"?
That happened to me when I was taking Lipitor for about a week. I stopped and everything went back to normal. I thought I was losin' it with the muscle pain and all the other symptoms.

This "thing" sucks - I'm in so much pain sometimes. Right now I want to rip my left arm and shoulder off since that would feel better than the pain; my feet are tingling, my legs shake on the stairs and I don't see a dang doctor until Oct. 19th - a neurologist. |
