Hair Removal
Anyone ever had electrolosis for removing facial hair? I am sick of using those darn tweezers, and I'd love to just get rid of it forever!
If so, how many treatments did you need. Did it come back? |

I did and it's the best money I ever spent!!!
It was 10$ for 15 minutes. I had my eyebrows and sometimes my upper lip. At first I would go every two weeks for about 3-4 times and then it started spacing out. Hair growth is actually fairly slowed on the face, but there are so many follicles that come in at different times... It does not come back in the same follicle EVER. That follicle is dead. The new growth that you will see, is just a different follicle that wasn't grown in at the time of previous electrolysis. You think you are plucking the same hairs over and over every two weeks but that it not the case. I was going and having my eyebrows waxed q 2weeks or so. To me the money came out the same in the end... It took me about 7-8 months to get my eyebrows the way I wanted...I haven't been in about 6 months, and the other day I noticed like 4 eyebrow hairs that I need to have electrolysized. And as for the pain, yes it twinges a little bit, but so did waxing... it's worth a little pain to never have to tweeze again!!! I just took an ibuprofen before I went and it seemed to help. Good luck!

It depends on the amount of facial hair you have also. I have been having it done on and off for years (big hair problem!) My electrologist says it takes 18-24 treatments to make a folicle stop producing hair. It is somewhat painful, but there are some OTC lidocane creams that can help with that.

Wow, thanks ladies for the input. I really, really want to do this. I didn't know I could get my eyebrows done!
I have thick eyebrows... in the picture here they are plucked like heck! I don't have the unibrow though. What I really need is a couple on my neck, some on my chin, and all that grow on my upper lip. ![]() |
