My best advise (tthat I didn't follow.....) is to stay away from the whites- no white sugar, potatoe, or flour. Eat limited quantities of whole grain bread or pasta. Eat lots of veggies and lean meats. Have a piece of fruit once a day if you wish. If you stay away from processed foods you'll be good. You may not be able to put together a menu (I couldn't when I was preggo), just eat healthy!

How much have you gained? By 20 weeks I've been at about 20 lbs. This is me when I saw the midwife with my 5th baby and she was giving me grief about gaining 30 lbs. at 30 weeks:
I tried to tell her that was normal for me (the LEAST I've ever gained is 41 lbs., and with #4 I gained 56), but she still had a cow. Make sure you're drinking enough water, and I agree with the "no whites." All that white stuff isn't good for you anyway. ![]() |

I think w/my DD I gained 45 lbs. But I started out at around 105 lbs. So I was underweight. This pg I am starting around 113-115 which is a good healthy weight for me...mind you, I have gained 5 lbs and am 10 weeks pregnant. But I quit doing low carb when pregnant. So I think that is why I always gain in the first trimester. But what is five lbs?? I dont think it is that bad.

I am trying to avoid gaining lots of weight. Last week I picked up weigth due to celebrating the fact that I was pregnant. I was eating everything bread, fruit, cottage cheese, pastries. This week I cut out the crap and did what Randtbrown suggested and I am naturally slowly losing. I am not trying to diet. The weight loss is probably due to excessive water retention. I am happy because my clothes are starting to fit better.
