Mirena IUD...anyone?
Has anyone used this? My gyno recommended it to me today. Mainly I'm concerned about side effects, and was it painful during insertion....??

I have it. Got it in April 04 right after birth of my daughter. Didn't hurt AT ALL. Didn't even know he had done it. No side effects except for no TOM.
LOVE IT! |

I had the copper one so no experience with Mirena.
The insertion was torture for me. Different for different people though. |

I have Mirena. It did hurt me having it inserted, but I had just been through a miscarriage, so I was still sore from cleaning out. I haven't had a TOM since then. As for weight loss, I don't know because I just recently got back on the wagon after a nightmarish relationship sent me reeling. I don't have moodswings, still break out aroune my TOM time, but nothing else.

I have one. The insertion was a lot less painful than my doctor told me it would be. I haven't ever had kids, so she was a bit concerned I might have a worse time.
I had a bit of cramping that day and night - but no worse than with the beginning of the TOM (maybe about medium for me.) It hasn't totally solved my problem, but it's certainly helped. ![]() |
