I blame LCF and my DH of course...

Well, I heard all the warnings about something being in the water around here...and laughed as everyone joked about avoiding getting pregnant...blissfully relying on my mini-pill...AND THEN...YEP that's right I'M PREGNANT!!!! Don't get me wrong, we're excited (especially my hubby) but our youngest is only 9 months!! Wow...I'm tired already
a/w I figured I would share with ya'll since I will be blaming you all and your pregnancy voodoo when I'm kneeling in front of the toilet puking

So...how's that for coming out of lurkdom?!?!?!

You gotta watch out for that

Congrats!! and get your rest now, cause in about 8 months, you'll never see the inside of your eyelids again (1st is only 9mo!!!, maybe you should start circuit training or something )

Seriously, congrats - and pass some of that voodoo/baby dust/or whatever you got, over to the TTC threads

thanks...yeah we have a 4yr old and a 9 month old...we had ALOT of difficulty getting pregnant the second time (miscarriages, difficulty conceiving etc.) so I guess I didn't think it would just sneak up on me LOL
It's funny b/c I've been eating the same working out with the same intensity and just dragging...now i know why.

Congratulations!!

(Please don't say there is something in the water - I have been taking my pill faithfully but still not feeling great lately. I have a 7 yr, 5 yr, and two year old twin boys - I'm busy enough!)

Sure thing!

I was surprised but only because I had gotten pregnant so fast! You could say we were trying though we didn't put a lot of effort into it. My first period since having Devin wasn't until March so I just took a guess as to when I'd ovulate. I took quite a few tests since my period was late, all were negative. I was feeling a bit queasy one day and while at Walmart I picked up a test. As soon as the ink started moving across the test it was positive. I've taken a few more since then just cause I was shocked and all were positive!

exciting...we definitely weren't trying! I think I was so suprised also b/c for one i was on the mini pill but also b/c it took us so long and so much difficulty getting (and staying) pregnant with my youngest that dh and I were already talking about gearing up to get started so once he was 2 we could be pregnant again...and all the sudden i realized my period didn't come DH is so excited, he's already looking at double strollers and pink baby clothes. Are you staying pretty low carb for your pregnancy? I know it's kinda controversial so if you don't wanna talk about it I understand...I'm just hoping to maintain healthy eating habits! And I'm kinda curious what other moms to be on the board are doing.

I'm curious too!

As for me I'm going to eat just as I am now. I plan on going over my diet with my Dr. just cause but can she really argue if I tell her I eat meat, cheese, eggs, seeds, nuts, veggies, berries and yogurt (yocheese and a lot of it. ) I do also have lc tortillas usually everyday. I wonder if she will tell me to add some grain ( but I eat flaxmeal, is that considered a grain?) I know eating this way is far better than cakes, cookies, pies, chips and all the other garbage I'd soooo love to pig out on.

I have heard that being in ketosis during pregnancy isn't a good thing but I've been avoiding that already because I'm nursing. And I'm losing weight, may be slower than when I was doing induction but I'm losing, I wonder if my Dr. will have a problem with me continuing to lose while pregnant? I'm probably hoping to lose and that won't be the case but one can wish, right?

Another thing, there is a Yahoo group called pregnantatkids that is a group for women that are pregnant, ttc orare nursing.

Check it out,the list is slow at times but there's a lot of good info!

yeah, someone asked on another thread what would you do if you got preg. before reaching goal...the way I see it just like I don't need processed carbs, my baby doesn't either. I don't plan on changing much, just adding in some berries and grains. We'll see how that works, I'll adjust whatever I have to, but like you I don't see what much needs to be changed. I don't know if I'll continue to lose while pregnant, but I don't expect to gain much...I only gained 14 lbs with my youngest (and that was nowhere near lowcarb ) plus I am continuing my exercise. So we'll see.
I've had very difficult pregnancies in the past w/ passing out and heart palpatations, and this pregnancy I don't even feel preg. yet...usually by now I'm vomiting several times a day and miserable...maybe this is a good sign and maybe it's due to lowcarb whatever the reason, i'll take it!
Thanks for the tip on the yahoo group, I'll take all the support and info I can get!!

My doc was supportive- if not suggestive- of a LC WOE during my pregnacy. I did it well (with berries and some whole grains) until week 20ish. Then I lost control. I hardly gained anything through week 20, then really reaked havoc later. I'd totally recommend sticking with it- I will the next time for sure. They can't have too much of a problem with it- if you were a diabetic you would have to eat like that, right?
