NOT PREGNANT BUT TRYING? May Edition

Hi ladies!

I know our good pal Jenn has graduated from this thread and she is truly in our hearts. I thought a monthly thread would work great for us, so here is the May Edition. Baby Dust coming all our way! .

Thank you Godsbeloved for starting the new thread! The pregnant smiley is so cute!

Well, things could be better and they will get better! My DH got laid off from his job. Luckily, my job provides our insurance and some money, so that is a start. My friend who had her first baby in March said, "Now, for sure you will get pregnant!" At first, I wasn't sure how to take that, but I think she meant that I can't control the timing of it.

I'm off to get ready for work. Baby dust for everyone! Have a great week!

OK, QOTD (not TTC related, cause I can't seem to come with a good one for that - this just "getting to know you" stuff): Fave Movie?

QOTD: Princess Bride, I think (altho I have about 86 close runners up )

BABY DUST!!!

It is a pleasure to carry on what Jenn started . I'm sorry to hear about your husband getting laid off. He will find another job, soon. That has happen to my husband in the past and there was always a reason behind it. There was another door waiting for him to walk through. I hear alot of people saying that you will get pregnant when you least expect it or when the time is not right. I think it is just a saying. Be strong and have a GREAT day at work!

Hi Ladies!

Godsbeloved, thanks for starting the new thread!

Janette, sorry that your husband was laid off. There are great opportunities out there for him and he will find one soon!

QOTD: I honestly don't know. There have been so many movies that I've enjoyed over the years that it's hard to pick one.

Babydust to us all!

Just stopping by to sprinkle some baby dust to you all!!

Janette - sorry to hear about your husband being laid off. That stinks.

I want to answer QOTW: Mine will have to go by categories since I LOVE movies:
Drama: Emma or Shakespeare in Love or any Jane Austen novel turned into movie
Sci-Fi: The Fifth Element
Fantasy: Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter series
Action: Armageddon or Independence Day
Drama: Steel Magnolia and When Harry Met Sally and Good Will Hunting
Comedy: There's Something About Mary, Eurotrip, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle
Classic: Breakfast at Tiffany's or An Affair to Remember

Okay I think I went overboard!

Morning ladies!!

godsbeloved79 - Thanks for starting the new thread!!

janetaz - I'm so sorry that your DH lost his job. I'm sure something better is just waiting in the wings, though!

Babydust to all!

This cycle was my first using the progesterone. All I have to say is YUCK! Monday was my last day using it. I tested and got a BFN, so now I'm just waiting for the witch to arrive. I hope she comes quickly since my hysterosonogram was rescheduled for Monday.

QOTD is a really tough question. I will list a few:
Donnie Darko
The Matrix
The Harry Potter series
Billy Elliot
A League of Their Own

QOTD: Your thoughts about Pregnancy & Low Carbing?

I have seen many women that have had problems in the past with TTC, get pregnant easily while Low Carbing. Do you know why? I know this is not much of a QOTD, but I'm curious to what others may think about this.

Thank you all so much for your support, I really appreciate it!

I am still trying to think of a favorite movie. Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do!!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a one year old birthday gift? One of my friends' babies is going to be one soon and I am not sure what to get.

Hope everyone has a beautiful day!!

Hi janetaz,

I pray that all is well with you and yours .

Birthday Gift? - Find out what cartoon he/she likes, and maybe get him/her a PJ set with that character on it. Maybe a toy of some sort. I have twin nephews and they LOVE Spider-Man, so it is very easy to shop for them. They have the Spider-Man hat, umbrella, and table set. They sleep, eat and drink Spider-Man . Good luck with getting a gift .

Godsbeloved - I don't know why it works but it does. Honest all 5 times I got pg it was while doing LC and losing usually just a little weight. I think it may be something about leveling your insulin levels maybe? That's just a hunch. I have no idea, but I know my RE recommended it and it worked quickly every time.

Janet - I love giving kids books but I'm a big reader. At my bf's little boy's 1st bday last year, the gifts that went over big - her brother got him a little pop up cube shaped tent with flaps for doors - he loved that thing. Another fav was a big puzzle and all the pieces had different materials on the front that the babies could feel. HTH!

Purely speculation, but I think it probably has to do with overall health leading to healthier eggs, stable BS, more/better quality estrogen. I know especially wome with PCOS are encouraged to keep their BS regulated and return to a more healthy weight for those reasons. Other than that (I'm just hoping it'll help me along the way )

Janet - I agree with Jenn about the books. That's one of my fave gifts to give

Have a beautiful day, ladies! - and Baby Dust to all

I'd pick one that I haven't seen before.

Godsbeloved, I don't really know why low-carbing seems to help women get pregnant, but I hope it works for me!

Crystal, I used progesterone 3 or 4 cycles ago and it was quite a mess. It did what it was supposed to do though.

Babydust to all!

Just stopping in this weekend to see how everyone is doing!!

Godsbeloved, Jen, Roxanne, Crystal, a big hiya to all of you with lots of baby dust!

Jenn, hope your morning/afternoon sickness is doing better!

Thanks for the suggestions on the baby gifts, sometimes I get excited to go into that department to look and other times, I avoid it. My sister asked me if I was going to delay TTC because of my husband's job situation. I said "no" and I don't think I really have the luxury of waiting around for the perfect time. I just turned 36 and I am getting anxious about it.

My AF came early this morning, about 4 days. I think because I have been eating really clean LC. I took a little stress-detour when my DH was laid off. Now, I am really going to have to pay attention to all the signs and that fertility monitor!

Another thing, is it just me or are there pregnant ladies everwhere?? OoPs! Just wanted to welcome anyone new thinking about TTC that might be reading! Thanks!

Hello ladies!

janetaz - will this be your first cycle using the fertility monitor? Sorry things are so stressful for you right now!

Roxanne - glad to hear that the progesterone helped you like it was supposed to. I was given enough to use for 2 cycles, but I'm considering skipping using it again this cycle and see how things go naturally before using the 2nd cycle's worth.

godsbeloved, jenkat, and everyone - babydust all around!

Me: AF came on Friday. Thankfully she didn't stay for long this time and I should be able to go and get my hysterosonogram tomorrow morning without any interference. Looking forward to a BFP this cycle!

QOTD: I think that LCing just helps you be healthier overall and helps to regulate your hormones. So, that is why I am recommitting myself to clean eating.
