Oh most definately has an effect on your weight so don't stress it. Last month I weighed during TOM and had only lost a pound. Just one day later and I had lost another 2 pounds because my bloatiness was starting to go away.
Yesterday morning I measured my waist at 36" and then late last night started my period. So out of curiosity, I measured my waist again to see if I was bloating yet. And sure enough just from morning to night my waist had increased a whole inch! So moral of the story is...don't weigh during TOM unless you are prepared to see results that may not be accurate. And don't get depressed about it either. I've decided that if my sceduled weigh-in date falls during TOM that I will go ahead and weigh, but then I will stick an extra weigh-in date in a week later. I usually only weigh-in twice a month, but since I'm supposed to weigh-in tomorrow, I will schedule an extra weigh-in for a week from now too. I don't expect to see real positive results tomorrow and I know now to not get upset about that. So don't worry about that water retention weight. Just give yourself some time and weigh-in after TOM is gone.
