Pain during ovulation?
I ovulate 14 days after the 1st day of my period. I can feel it , it knocks me off my feet for a few hours! It is painful. Well my body is on track with ovulation and my period every month on the date. But this month I did not feel ovulation. For those of you who feel pain during ovulation, do you still feel that if you concieve. Because I am wondering why it is diffrent this month? Well I hope every one understand my ? Thanks

This could be a number of things. I would guess that either your ovulation symptoms are changing (entirely possible as hormones fluctuate), you haven't ovulated yet (many things, such as stress, illness, etc. can delay ovulation in a given cycle), or you're having an anovulatory cycle (this is not uncommon - a lot of women experience a cycle without ovulation every once in awhile). You are very fortunate to have such regular cycles.
I've never conceived, but conception shouldn't have any effect on ovulation, since conception may only occur after ovulation. |

I have this and always have. And it still comes even after me having my daughter two years ago.
Here is a little something to read about it. And you can find more on it than what I put in here. I hope this gives ya some answers. ![]() Have you ever experienced severe midcycle pain? Does pain and cramping seem to occur during ovulation? What you are experiencing may be Mittelschmerz. Mittelschmerz is a German word which translated literally means "middle pain." Other words you may hear include: ovulation pain, midcycle pain, menstrual, middle pain, or cramps. Ovulation usually occurs about two weeks after the first day of your last period. Mittelschmerz occurs during ovulation when an egg is released by the ovaries into the fallopian tube. For about twenty percent of women this causes severe pain and cramps on one side of the lower abdomen. Although the pain may feel like something serious is wrong, midcycle pain or cramps -- Mittelschmerz is rarely serious.

you may be just "skipping" ovulation for the month. the pain happens when the egg burst out of a little blister like thing on the ovary. so if you are skipping releasing an egg, this could be it.. some women only have pain on one side. there could be several factors as to why that is. there might be a cyst on one ovary causing pain.

I also experience the pain during ovulation- only on one side though. So, if I ovulate on the right side the pain is dull, on the left side it is sharp. I have endo pretty badly, but I'm not really sure if that is a contributing factor to ovulation pain or not. If it really knocks you off your feet I'd see a doctor- can't hurt. Severe pain could be a sign of a problem- or it could be totally normal. For me- pain hurts me less when I know it isn't a problem!
(and the pain stopped when I was preggo- you wouldn't ovulate obviously.)

I always got this too- very painful - stops me in my tracks. I have mild endo myself. If you don't get it - I agree may be annovulatory cycle or just a fluke.

WOW, I forgot about pain on ovulation. I had that for years, even after having kids. I have Mirena now and no TOM, no PMS, nothing. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but saves money on feminine supplies!
