NOT PREGNANT BUT TRYING? Week ending 4/23/06

I started this week's thread early since I'll be unable to post in the morning. Here's my post from yesterday: NOT PREGNANT BUT TRYING? Week ending 4/16/06

After tomorrow's bloodwork, I'll have a better idea if I've really "graduated" to the pregnancy boards here. After my history of losses, I'm very nervous. But I continue with my mantra: NBHHY!!

Hoping for some more graduates!

OK, ladies, we've had a graduate (SWISH ) now we've gotta rally and see who's next!

I'm about 8DPO (finally my chart made a little sense) and expecting AF any day now. Looks like my LP is a little on the short side BUT at least I know what I'm dealing with now. I'm thinkin about trying Vitex after I get another good chart/cycle under my belt. Any thoughts?

How's everyone else doing? and Baby Dust all around!

Later, ladies!

We'll miss you Jenn! SWISH!!!

Kat, I don't have any experience with Vitex so I can't offer any input. Let us know how it goes. Babydust to you!

As for me, I'm in the 2ww. I'm about 9 dpo.

Babydust to all!

Roxanne - are you a POAS addict like Jenn was? I'm just wondering when there'll be another round of testing around here

My QOTD: (sorry if we've already covered this, I've got PG brain minus the PG ) Do your friends/family know you're TTC? Subquestion - how do you handle questions about things like "when" from people who don't?

A: Only very few people know that I'm off the pill, so I'm feeling very guilty when my other friends ask about when I'll go off the pill, etc. I know it's not really their business, but I'm generally a very open person, so it's not strange for them to ask. The only reason I'm not telling is cause, w/ our anticipated issues, I'm not prepared answer "are you pg yet" for the next million years What'd'ya think?

Thanks for the especially SWISH-y dust, Jenn

Kat, I AM a POAS addict and I'm trying not to think about it right now (not very successfully). I still have 1 $10 test at home, so I'll probably buy some cheap $1 store brand HPTs over the weekend. I want to wait at least until Sunday before I test.

Are you a POAS addict? When are you going to test?

QOTD: The only person who I've told that we're actively TTC is my best friend. When others ask, I just answer them short and sweet "No, I'm not pregnant yet. Yes, we do want children one day. I'm 35 years old." Every now and then someone goes overboard with the questions and I tell them "I don't feel comfortable answering that question." I'm not prepared to answer the "are you pregnant yet?" question for the next million years either, but I get it all the time anyway. One of my sisters makes it a point to ask me every single time that we talk.

I feel the same way about keeping it between me and hubby. People tend to make that the first thing they ask when they see you . I want to tell my family and friends when it happens.

Hi! I wandered into this thread accidentally. I am planning a tubal reversal when I am a little closer to goal weight. I love that you all are so supportive of each other, although I would need a special course in all of the abbreviations to understand most of your threads lol! Good luck everyone!

Hello ladies!

averyjenn - NBHHY!! I'm so happy for you! Lots of sticky vibes coming your way

jenkat - glad that your chart started making sense. I hope that AF stays away. If not, good luck on the Vitex next cycle, I know lots of ladies on fertilityfriend have had success with it.

Roxanne - good luck waiting till Sunday to POAS! I know I would have serious problems resisting that urge!

godsbeloved79 - hello and babydust!

Bobbie -

Me: Oh boy. this is going to be long. So, around 7 DPO last cycle I gave in to my urge to POAS. However, I took the test, walked away, and forgot about it till about 20 min. later. When I returned, there was a weird line on the test. I told myself not to get my hopes up b/c it could very well be an evap line. I kept testing the next couple of days and got nothing but BFNs. Then, AF came. Well, on Monday (cd12) I go the Dr for my hysterosonogram. The sonographer takes a baseline sonogram before injecting the fluid for comparison purposes. So, she's taking the baseline and looks at me and says "Is there any chance you're pregnant?" I told her I didn't think so b/c I got AF almost 2 weeks ago. She points to this black dot on the screen and tells me that I didn't have this last time I got a sonogram and that usually those dots are representative of an early pregnancy. She goes and gets my Dr and they decide that they shouldn't do the hysterosonogram in case it is a pregnancy b/c they don't want to wash it away by injecting the fluid into my uterus. They couldn't tell me anything conclusive, so I left. Now I am going crazy. I am going to POAS on Friday first thing in the morning and see what I get.

The complicating factor is that I have gotten lax about my charting since I figured I knew my cycle pretty well. I didn't temp last cycle, and didn't start temping this cycle until Tuesday. My temps the past 2 days have been as high as my post-ovulation temps usually are. I don't know if this means that they never went down last cycle, or if I just ovulated early this cycle. I could just kick myself for slacking on my charting b/c I think I'd have a much better idea of what's going on with me right now if I'd stayed on top of my charting. Sorry to ramble on so long, but I had to get that out.

QOTW: Nobody but DH and I (and a whole bunch of strangers on the Internet ) know that DH and I are TTC. If and when we finally get our BFP, we plan on waiting until after the 1st trimester to tell anyone.

Holy crap Crystal - weird! Why wait until Friday? I'd test NOW! Maybe you had some implantation spotting? I totally thought I was getting TOM - I was popping Midol all week. I have regular TOM cramps and everything - just no spotting. If they are seeing something on an ultrasound, then something should show up on a pg test for sure. BEST OF LUCK!!!

I first have to say that I am SO happy to see all the activity on the board!! Now to personals...

Roxanne - I've actually gotten myself really worked up about testing, cause I'm scared of the answer either way However.... AF hasn't shown yet (longest cycle yet - 27 days ). I don't think I'm pg, but I'm praying for miracle. Got a bachelorette party saturday, so I"m gonna have to test sat morning if the hag hasn't arrived yet. Say a for me, k!

Godsbeloved - Baby dust right back at ya! If you don't mind starting the thread that would be great! Do you think we should just try a month at a time for now? We've not been super active and that would make it easier on ya

Bobbi - crash course scheduled for 8a next monday, there'll be an essay exam following j/k all you have to do is ask if you have any questions!

Kateyez - WOW! I'm with Jenn on wondering about implantation bleeding. Did they offer to do a blood test? Seems like it would have been easy enough for them to check you out that way. GET THYSELF TO A STICK, GF!

Jenn - thanks for checkin in on us! SWISH -on friend.

Baby dust to everyone!!!

OMG SOMEBODY has GOT to POAS! (Kat and Crystal I'm looking in your general direction) If I can't do it, somebody HAS to! I must know who our next graduate will be STAT!

Godsbeloved, thanks for offering to start the thread from now on. I agree that it might be better to do a month thread since there's not a whole lot of activity.

Bobbie When I first started TTC (trying to conceive) and I started to go to different message boards, I felt like I needed a special course in all of the abbreviations too! I went to Fertility Friend and started reading and somewhere they have a list of the main abbreviations that are used on all the boards. By the way, POAS = pee on a stick.

Crystal WOW! I hope that this is it! I can't believe that they didn't do a blood pregnancy test while you were there. Are you still planning on waiting until tomorrow to test?

Jenn SWISH!

Kat I will most definitely say a prayer for you!

Julie thanks!

Is anyone on FF besides me? If so, I want to see your chart! I'd like to obsess about someone else's cycles besides my own . Here's mine:

My chart says that I'm 8dpo, but I think that I'm actually 10dpo based on when I triggered.

Good luck and babydust to you all!

Roxanne - Funny you should mention that cause I was really wanting someone to look at my chart! I don't have any idea how to link to it tho. Insights? I "may" POAS tomorrow (if I don't start spotting tonight). I'll keep you posted I think I'm only like 9DPO, tho, so who knows

Kat, when you're logged on to FF, under the Menu select Sharing--Ticker, then you'll see Your Charting Ticker Web Address. You can just copy and paste that address here.

Um, here goes...

I'm not sure if I can even post links, so here's to hopin. Lemme know what you think!

Jenn - don't worry, just cause you're the only one who's PG/knows they're PG, doesn't mean you're the only one obsessing

ETA - looks like that's just a ticker, not my chart, how do I link up my chart?

Kat, I think this will work:

I looked at your chart and in my (novice) opinion, you O'd on CD18. Is that what you thought? I can't tell why FF hasn't given you a coverline yet (their estimate of when you O'd). It may have to do with the days that you didn't record a temp, and also it looks like several of your temps weren't taken at the same time of day. But I definitely see a distinct temp shift pattern! Was CD17 the only day that you had EWCM?

Jenn, it's tempting! Just a few more days. Hopefully I'll have good news to report! And yes, I'm already obsessing.

[Edited to correct ticker]

Yay! you're my hero, it worked. I was thinking CD 17 or 18 as well. All FF has told me was that I "probably Od between CD14 and CD24"
I did some research and according to TCOYF it's better for me to temp at 3a or so, when I first wake (and usually the only time I get 3 hrs cons. sleep). and recommended adjusting by .2/hr off of your normal time. What you see is my "cleaned up" chart, altho I didn't change things by much.

So how did you get it to work, anyway?

After a few attempts , I got it to work using the following code:

{url=http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/11c418}

Replace all of the squiggley brackets with square brackets.
