NOT PREGNANT BUT TRYING? Week ending 4/16/06
Morning girls!! Well I got a lily white BFN today followed by lovely menstrual cramps. I'd really rather know asap rather than drive myself nuts. So now I'm popping Midol like candy.
TOM probably won't arrive until Wed or Thursday - gotta love cramps for days on end! Who wants to makes bets that K@tie Holmes has her baby the day TOM shows? QOTW: Do you find yourself getting jealous of those who get pg easily? I spent the past 5 days with my BF and her adorable 2yo son whom I totally adore. Saturday was his party and there were a thousand children and pg women there. I love the babies but gosh it was hard!!

QOTD: Unfortunately, yes. I really am keeping it in perspective, tho, so I don't inadvertently take away from any of their joy, but it is definitely hard. Ex: One of my bst friends called about 3 weeks ago to tell me they were trying. She called last week to tell me she had skipped her TOM. My first thought was "here we go, buckle up!"
but then I got it together. What I know is... this roller coaster is for the birds, lol ![]() I'm interested to see what other responses there are to the chaste berry question on last week's thread. Anyone got any experience with that stuff? I'm, once again, totally confused by my cycle/charting. This was about the time I started charting last month, and my temps were way up from the start of this cycle. Now, for some unknown reason, I STILL don't have a temp shift so who knows if I'm even Oing Where's my operating manual Baby dust and hugs to all!

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been MIA lately - work has been crazy.
Katrina and Nicole!Nicole - I took Vitex for a couple of months when I was coming off of Depo and my cycles were incredibly insane. It didn't help me at all, but I don't know if that's just because I still had some evil Depo Provera in my system or what. I do know that a lot of women on fertilityfriend dot com swear by it, though. I had better luck with soy isoflavones helping to start ovulating regularly again, but I have pretty much the same ovulation and LP pattern that you do. Hope it works for you! Janette - You'll have to let me know what you think of the fertility monitor. I have been debating with myself on getting one. averyjenn - sorry to hear about your BFN. I had an evil evap line last cycle that gave me false hope.jenkat - Are you using OPK's also? Are you able to temp consistently (at same time, and after 3 hours of sleep)? Do you sleep with your mouth open? Any of these things could be throwing your chart off. As for me: I saw the Dr. last week and she told me that all of the tests they had performed up until that time gave no indication of a reason for infertility. So, she had me get some blood drawn for a progesterone test and scheduled me for an hysterosonogram and an hysterosalpingiogram . She called me back at the end of last week to let me know that my progesterone test came back low and she called a in a script for Prometrium for me to use this cycle after I ovulate.QOTW: I have been pretty fortunate in that my friends and family generally aren't trying or getting pregnant inadvertently *knocks on wood*, so I haven't had to really deal with this issue yet. However, DH will finally be graduating dental school in May, so I know we'll start getting a lot more pressure from family then. Hope everyone's having a good day and *Babydust* to all! |

Crystal - Thanks for the reply about the vitex (chaste berry). Sorry it wasn't helpful to you. I hope you find something that helps with your situation.
Does anyone else have any experience with vitex or chaste berry? Anyone? Niccole |

Morning ladies!
Kateyez - thanks for the heads up on the temping. I really didn't realize those things could cause that much of a difference. Hope everyone is having fun BDing! for a bunch of "graduates" from the thread this month As for me, I think I finally O'd, so now its a waiting game to see how long my cycle is this month. Never can tell with me so ... I did go on and buy TCOYF, so that should be here soon and maybe I'll get a clue what the heck I'm doing Has anyone else had any experience/read that book? I'm a little nervous that it'll be over my head, KWIM.Have a great day ladies & oodles of Baby Dust all around ! How is everyone doing? |

Hey girls!!
Crystal - the hysterosonogram is no big deal - they just flush water into your uterus and it's not painful at all. The HSG - hysterosalpinogram - some women say it hurts them, mine didn't but I was doped up on valium and didn't care what they did to me. I had an endo biopsy done and it hurt like h*ll so I wasn't taking my chances. If you have a blockage in your tubes, the HSG will hurt. Regardless it's over pretty quickly. If you are worried, have them prescribe one valium for you, I tell ya I LOVED the stuff! Crystal = what was your p4 level? Just curious and on prometrium - it will make you feel pg - very very tired like you could sleep for years. Niccole - never tried any of that stuff sorry! Jen - I haven't ready TCOYF but I heard it's a great book and Crystal is right, so many thing can effect your temps - I temped for about 6 months and found my pattern and then stopped temping - you could get so wrapped up in it and it's not an exact science. The only thing I found "true" for me was the dip before ovulation and then the rise after it. Other than that, I didn't even bother. If you have any questions after reading the book let us know! ![]() As for me, I got the pre-TOM migraine working on me today. Sucks. Hoping it shows today or tomorrow even, wouldn't mind if it was tomorrow to push off ovulation for dh. It's so hard to bd during the week when the man is only HOME 8 hours and he has to relax, eat, sleep, wake up, eat, shower and go again from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. I feel so bad for him. He was so upset when I told him I'm not pg this month. He was more upset than me! Made me sad but also happy that I know he's 100% on board with our having a baby. We've ttc for 5+ years now and the first two years or so, he was like okay, we SHOULD have a baby. Now he's DYING to have a child. It's so cute. Good luck to all those in the 2ww!! ![]() |

Psst...I have a secret...
TOM did NOT show... I thought he would... I mean I really thought he would... I tested on Friday and yup, I'm pregnant! I went to my specialist yesterday and my hormone levels are very high which is great news. In other pregnancies, they were always low in the beginning. Tomorrow I go back for more b/w to see if the numbers doubled. I'm praying for a miracle!! I'm trying not to get too excited, this is my 5th pregnancy and my would-be first child. I've only told dh of course, my mom and my best friend and one infertility cyber friend. We will tell dh's parents today at lunch. We won't tell anyone else for a long time but it's always easier telling cyber people. So prayers are welcome!! I read lots of infertility blogs and this one girl had this mantra that I will be adopting. She had had lots of miscarriages and eventually got a surrogate mother for her child. She said this phrase "Nothing Bad Has Happened Yet" or NBHHY and asked people to say that instead of congratulations. It worked for her, her child was born last August. I don't want congratulations, I am only looking toward tomorrow when I go for more b/w and pray that the levels double. So if you must say something, say NBHHY!!! Happy Easter!!! |
