How is everyone doing on baby stuff and getting ready? I am eagerly awaiting my Arms Reach CoSleeper I ordered off of ebay. Should be here in the next few days. I also want to purchase a Sit and Stand stroller for the baby and my 4 year old. I think it will make life a whole lot easier!

Luna- only 7 days WOW! We will be off on vacation for 2 weeks so hopefully by the time you can get back to posting we'll be back and I wont miss any good baby pics.

We have done some shopping for the baby (and other kids). I went to Carters outlet store friday. Lets just say I spent alot more than I should have I love that place.......so much realy high quality clothing for sooo cheap. I spent too much every time I go. I got DD who is 6 3 out fits and 2 realy nice dresses for less than 15 bucks each. DS didn't get a whole lot, just a few out fits and some shoes. The baby got mostly unisex type stuff and some crib sheets. We dont know what were having and it makes it so hard to buy things because all the little girl stuff there is just tooooo cute.

Who believes inthe heart beat method of telling the sex? Slower heartbeat= girl, faster= boy? My daughters was in the 130's and sons was in the 150's......This baby is in the 130's also. Every time I hear it I picture a little girl But hubby still says its a boy and he was right from day 1 with the other two so who knows?

Hope everyones doing well. Luna since I'll be gone I'm wishing the best of luck now with the C section and recovery. I hope everything goes as you hope it will.

Orphalie- I've always heard the opposite for heartbeat- that faster was girl. Although Kyle's heart was fast.....

For you gals that have been through pregnancy before:

did it take longer to lose weight after? I'm a avid LCarber, lose weight easily on low induction levels normally and maintain great at/around goal. So why isn't the scale moving now? I'm trying a different approach- going to M/E it for awhile and really count and measure my food intake. But in 4 weeks I've lost 3lbs? (I am up 2lbs from siggy- no explination......) I feel like I still look pregnant! My face is thin, my legs are smaller, but my mid section is unrecognizable! I'm very frustrated. I know some of you have been through this post-pregnancy issue. Just wanted to know if you experienced the same or if you have any tips???????

(except the obvious tip- don't gain so much while pregnant.......lol. Bed rest killed me, I couldn't move and I ate like crap out of sheer bordom. If only I could go back and do it over....)

hmm bout the heartbeat i believe in it...girls are usually faster says the gyno although its a "old wives tale" but my daughter always 160 and this little girl baby is always 150's...all my friends boys were in the 130s or a little higher...at first i thought she was a he cause when she was smaller in my tummy she was 120s then as she started getting bigger her heart rate went up....anyways im a little disappointed no one through me a shower or anything with this baby...i know everyone was hoping i broke the girl chain with a boy but i didnt...i really didnt need much but im in the middle of moving and everything i mean everything is in the storage unit which is packed to the brim...so in order to survive i needed to buy everything almost new cause the stuff is in hiding...my back is feeling much better these days...i got a pregnancy support belt they are nice..has anyone ever got those skin tabs from being pregnant urgh..they bother the H@ll outta me...i bought some stuff off the computer and so far its helping a little but not totally...i just got back from sallys and got tea tree oil hoping that is gonna work...ah the joys of pregnancy...tom is my 35 week prenatal appt im hoping shes gonna be like whoa u should go into labor sometime in the next 2 weeks lol

All my boys have had fast heartbeats, so no I do not believe the tale.



Weightloss for me was definately harder while nursing... well once I got back on track lc and stopped gaining!


All the hormones get all whacked out I think. I was a TINY person before getting pg the first time... I only weighed 104 pounds. So I think for some women something really does change inside.


As for still looking pg... you may have torn the ab muscles more than you think and it could be causing some of that bulge.







I think next week I will change the format of this thread to who is due in what month... that way if anyone of us miss a weekly update it wont mess the list up and it will be easier to update for everyone!


I do not know if anyone wants to take over the thread after I have my baby or not?????? I will keep it going as long as I can but eventually it might be better if another pg or trying mom takes it over since I will be neither.

my dr kept telling me it sounded like a girl (fast heartbeat)....ultrasound shows the family jewels! lol!

Sure getting alot of squirms/kicks now...not much can be felt from the outside yet. I keep telling dh "feel here" but he can't feel it yet really. Pretty soon, I'll be seeing little fists/feet poking up and moving my whole tummy!


Does anyone else get heart palpataions? Seems like about once a day, my heart just starts racing for about 3-5 seconds, even if I'm just sitting? This normal? Will mention it to dr at the next visit.

I've also noticed this month, much less room for food! lol! (this has to be a good thing!). No seconds or excessive snacking for me, as I seem to "stuffed" or bloated after eating a meal. Kinda feels like I've just eaten a big Thanksgiving dinner and I've only had a normal sized meal.

According to my medical books the heart rate for boys is higher during gestation. It claims that its linked to the testosterone being produced along with another harmone that changes the cardio system from female (blank) to male. I just got back from the doctor and the rate was in the 130's again, so boy or girl this baby is consistant.

As far as losing weight after the baby. I tend to lose it fairly quickly while nursing esp if I drink a ton of water and milk. If I stop nursing though....ugggg. I was working out 2 hours a day everyday after I stoped bursing my son and never lost a lb. during 3-4 months of that. And before my last miscarriage I could do non strict low carb and lose a ton realy fast, after even on 5 carbs a day I have to work out a ton to lose. I think you're system changes every time.....I'm hoping this baby changes me back

The doctor said my uterus is already up to my rib cage which is alot higher than where is should be. I can also feel the baby from bottom to top and when I measure about it seems more like 12 inches than where it should be which is about 8. I have big babies for when they're born which is always weeks early but this one I think is going to be a whopper.

Hello Ladies. I'm here. You are all scaring me w/ your "hard to lose after baby" stories. I want this weight GONE as soon as this kid is out!! lol

My ultrasound is a week from today. It is the longest I've had to wait for one ever!

Hannah's first one was at 13 weeks. Abby was at 16 weeks. I'll be 21 weeks when I finally get this one!! This pregnancy seems to be flying by though! I am so unprepared too.... I haven't bought anything yet!

I'm trying to really watch what I eat though. I'll flip out if I see another huge gain when I go to the doc again.

Amber- Are you going to find out the sex? Do you want a boy this time? I quit letting them tell me my weight towards the end. It just depressed me. Perhaps though, if I would have let them tell me I would have stopped eating so badly! lol

1st kid I lost none.


2nd I have no clue but it was not much.


Maybe I will get lucky with this one! They have a personal chef option at the hospital now and I am going to see how low carb I can order while I am there... I will let you all know how well (or not well) that turns out!




Personally I think giving your body about 2 weeks and then weighing would be best... you have a bunch of junk coming out, swelling, sometimes meds and iv's, etc... not to mention your hormones going nuts.


I will see how much I can weigh and keep a little log to post just out of sheer curiosity!

And as for not losing well after giving birth..... I have never tried to eat well after birth before.

1st baby I did not know any better.


2nd baby I sabotaged myself at the end of pregnancy and my bad habits carried over into nursing. So I have no clue if I might actually lose well after birth... I have never given myself half a chance before. That is why I want this time to be different!!!!!

With DS (9lbs), I lost 15 in 4 days. But then, I only gained 12 the whole pregnancy. So I was really doing good! Lost another 15 or so breastfeeding for 5/6 weeks. I think it was 28lbs in about 5 weeks....not bad!

After I had Hannah I didn't really try to lose weight.

After Abby, I went from 250 lbs to 199 lbs in about 5 months. I hoping that happens again this time!

Welcome to all you new mommies. I've got a head cold today...darn it!!!

With the weight loss question, although bloated I walked (well hobbled) out of the hospital 25lbs less than waddling in. Which was nice because I had only gained about 15lbs. However, I did gain about ten pounds while nursing!!

after i had my daughter 10 pounds came off in a week...i didnt really pay attention to weight loss till i went on atkins..it took me a whole year to lose 100 pounds...it came off quicklyish for me cause i gained alot...depending on if i breastfeed or not (well if it works out with this one) ill be starting atkins right away...

I lost 30lbs in the first 3 weeks.......17 of it before coming home from the hospital...

I lost 15 before coming home from the hosp. And then I breastfed and lost another 32 pounds in 4mos, I believe the breast feeding helped with that because that was my fourth child and the only one I breastfed and I never lost like that before. That was without dieting.

I gained 40 lbs with both of mine and lost it within 6 weeks postpartum, but that was starting out my pregnancy's around 250. Both were c-sections, and with my second they made me weigh before leaving the hospital for WIC. I was actually 5 lbs heavier 3 days postpartum than the morning before my c-section, how depressing! That probably contributed to me finally determining to lose the weight!

I started Atkins when my second baby was a couple months old, I was still nursing, and I lost the first 50 lbs. very quickly.

Just popping in to let y'all know I'm still alive. The morning sickness hit hard about a week ago and I'm trying hard to keep my head above water. I'm on the Zofran again because I started throwing up, and fortunately I don't have to take as much as last time. The nausea is only bad right when I get up and before I go to sleep. However, I am soooooo exhausted that I can barely get myself to work and back let alone do much else. Good thing my son is cooperating nursing lying down or else I would have given up by now. My nipples are terribly sore anymore too, but I'm determined to get through it, because Grant is definately not ready to wean. Well, I just hope the morning sickness isn't gonna last 11 weeks like last time. At least I'm not throwing up with the Zofran. That was the absolute worst the last time, that the medicine wouldn't even stop the puking sometimes! I guess I consider myself better than last time, but feeling sick still sucks!

Luna- cute avi! I got my pregnancy photos done professionally when I was right at about 7 months preggo. I thought I was HUGE and didn't think I could possibly get much bigger! HA! I laugh when I look at them now because it doesn't even look preggo compared to how I ended up! lol. But at least I got them taken before I started getting puffy. (and I got them done 9 days before I was put in bed, so I guess timing was good!).
