SmileyAmy... Thank you so much for updating us! Can I say your avatar pic is soooooo cute!!!!

megz, angieg, Jill-O!!!!! I am sending lots of baby dust your way!!!!!!!

alessandra
to the group! On "good" days my carb count would range between 30-100. I am not really counting just sticking to lowcarb/low glycemic foods the best I can.

Orphalie... I had terrible stretch marks my first pg theat ended right below my belly button. My next PG made them go up over my belly button. They were new but eventually just connected to my old ones below. And now some how I have not gotten any new ones... I guess I am all stretched out!

jennifer-in-wv...

mtsofmercy... good luck!!!!!!

Ok quickie update for me:

12 more days to "C" day for me. This baby has not stayed in any one position and constantly turns and rolls. It's getting reeeaaally uncomfy!

As of Tuesday I am up 7.5 pounds from my prepreggy weight.

As of 10 seconds ago my tummy around the belly button is 53 inches. I may split assunder first, therefore saving myself a trip to the hospital for a C.

I feel awful most of the time. I am full into the never sleep, heartburn/naseau, headache, achey, splint assunder mode. And I want to sleep all the time. Glad to know soon I will feel EXACTLY the same way... with more diapers to change.

That's my quickie... {{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}} to all that need them!

WOW! 7 lbs gained. I wish that is where I was now and I'm only 16 weeks with a long way to go! And I've eaten LC all the time.

Luna - Good for you with 7 lbs. If you can do it now, you'll continue to do great post-pg. I am a little over 100 g every day unless I really don't feel well and can't eat much, so I guess I shouldn't worry about being too low. Since I am normally maintaining, I haven't been much below 100g/day in years.

Carissa, Sounds like you're doing great. Under 30 or around that would be great for your size. Everyone has different needs. I think all we can do is eat heathily and reasonably, and then the number on the scale will be right for our body's needs. Some people need to gain more than others.

I feel like you have to know yourself too. Some people can pscyologically handle having a little extra weight to lose afterwards, but for many it would be overwhelming and depressing. I know for me it would be, but for some it's not. I think it's so important to eat healthily regardless, but within that there's some wiggle room depending on who you are.

Alessandra- you have no idea what encouragement that was to me. The scale moves around alot but right now I'm 16 weeks and 13 lbs (feels like the number looks huge) However, I do know alot is water for me. THANK YOU, though, you are such an encouragement to me.

I spent much of my last week in my bathtub. It was the ONLY place I could get comfortable. Our water bill was sky high. I'd fill it up, wait until it got to cool then let the water out and fill it up again!

johnandchicken I am so sorry to hear that! I really feel for you. My sister has scoliosis (curvature of the spine) severly and she has had miserable pregnancies. I'm only 16 weeks but the baby is sitting SO LOW (we can tell from unltrasounds and heart monitors)! It must be back too far because I am having problems with the siatic nerve. Sometimes it can totally "paralize" one of my legs. Thankfully my husband is a physical therapist and can offer some help. He often tells people to lay on your back with (on the floor) with your knees bent and feet up on the couch or a chair. I don't know if this is suitable for a preganet lady but just hoping to offer you any relief.

That's the same position my chiropracter told me to try for my back problems, I wasn't pregnant then, though. But I remeber it felt really good because it gets your back perfectly straight.

I also had sciatic problems with my first two pregnancies, I was almost 300 lbs then, though. My left leg would go completely numb after standing a few minutes, it got really painful to stand very long. I havn't had any of those problems so far with this one.

As I understand it unless you're very pregnate ( 7, 8, 9 months) laying on your back shouldn't be a problem unless you're a very heavy person to begin with. If you lay on your back and feel light headed ect. well then you know to stop.

I'm feeling dizzy today. Kind of light headed and faint and I suspect its low blood pressure. It helps to sit down but I'm debating weither I should head to the doctor or not as I'd have to drag my other two kids along with me. Every time I've gone in they've said I had low BP ( thats the same every time I'm pregnate) but that it was in the safe range. I have a doctors appointment on monday so I think I'll wait. Does sugar increase BP? I'm eatting some of the new whole grain fig newtons......so I hope it does.

back issues

Just FYI for those back sufferers (I'm definitely one now), I am 18 weeks and find myself waking up on my back every morning. So I asked my dr if I should worry, and he said that if you feel ok when doing it, it is not harming the baby or you. He said I will know when it becomes a problem because it will be harder to breath. I find lying on my side with a pillow between my legs, or on my back with a pillow under my knees is most comfortable, relatively speaking of course.
